If I adopt this system it would probably be a year or more after launch, if it seems to amazing to pass up.

Will this only be for download, or eventually would their be a physical release?

Never played it the whole way through, but I just love this game. One of my favorite things about it is that my nephews love it, who are 12 and 9 years old. I love seeing folks much younger than me enjoying classics. I have my nes, snes, gamecube, gb, gbc, and gba games all ready for my 8 month old to play when he is old enough. My great memories from the mid to late 80's will be his 1st video games. So cool!

Interesting. i have the original Gamecube version being delivered tomorrow. Probably will not buy an HD remake since I just spent $60 on the original in excellent condition. Will see how the new 2160p tv scales up 480p output from the Wii.

The death of the console comes closer. So glad to still have my nes carts, through Wiiu + the handhelds and games. Time for old farts like me to put an end date on my physical console and game collection and look around in about 10 years to see what is going on.

No built in optical is fine, as long as there is extra usb 3.0 ports. Nintendo selling an add on usb 3.0 optical drive that could play gamecube to WiiU discs would be fantastic. They could sell it at $150 and people would pay.

Nintendo digs its own grave. The new system should be,light years ahead of the WiiU. Multi-core/thread processors, high speed RAM, SSDs, and graphics cards have never been so cheap. HD should become UHD with the NX. You should be able to buy a USB optical drive as an add on that will play WiiU, Wii, and Game Cube discs. I have a feeling of disappointment already and I really want my kids to be nintendo kids like I was back in the mid-80s.

Very disappointing. NX needs to have some way to be backward comapatible to WiiU even if it is a usb optical drive attachment you have to purchase for extra $. i'm not putting another console on the shelf (if it is a console) unless I can play both WiiU and NX games from it .

Horrible idea. What are the thinking. That video looks like a bad remake of something like unreal tournament from 15 years ago. Definitely won't by buying this load of crud.

Nice for some. I've decided to just import the ones I really want from Japan no matter the price so I don't have to play this hunting game any more. The exception is Walmart shipped Wario to me yesterday since he was easy to pre-order. Ness in hand from Japan. Jigglypuff and Greninja about to be on their way from Japan. Next up will be bowser jr and zero suit samus. No interest in Splatoon at all. I don't see Nintendo having viable online multi-player environment for long.

prefer to run the original gba sp - you can buy re-furbished ones that are like new for around $80. Works great if you have a supply of the old carts. I have about 150 carts.

I still like to have the original hardware around with the physical cartridges. It avoids all this waiting and you can play the original. Something like Earthbound where I don't have the cart (now $200), or when i want to play a formerly handheld game on a console is when I may make a VC purchase. Everyone doesn't like subscription, but it is the most profitable, and will eventually go that way. They may even be withholding a boat load of games for VC to counteract the negative reaction to subscription by bringing 100's of games online at the time of announcement. I will keep collecting the old carts here and there for now.

@scottp999 - already went against what I said earlier and in addition to Wario, ordered Ness, Jigglypuff, and Greninja from Japan. Probably will pick up Zero Suit Samus, Ganondorf, and Bowser Junior in September.

The amiibo supply issues in the US suck. I'm only going to pick up things i want at the local toysrus going forward. Zero Suit Samus I will need to make sure I get, but other than that, they can keep them unless they are in easy reach at my local store.

Is the hinge weak, leaving the screen floppy like on the originals?

Can anyone answer if there is a better hinge so the screen does not easily flop around?

My ToysRUs preorder of Lucario from 12/4 was cancelled at 1:46AM US-Eastern. I saw it a 7:45AM Eastern Time and there was a preorder page with a limit of 1 available at the ToysRUs site, so I ordered it. So far, not cancelled, but who knows what will happen from here?

I have the Mario and Luigi ones. Good quality and so far holding up just fine.

My favorite 64 was the Commodore 64. Never liked Nintendo 64, Even now as I have gone back and built a collection I skipped it. NES, SNES, Game Cube, Wii, Wii U, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, GBA, DS, 3DS, and just fine without the N64.

@JaxonH : Agree. 3 pro-controllers here and 2 Hori Fight Pads..We had the gamepad, 3 pro-controllers and 1 fight pad going at the same time during a family holiday visit this week. Really fun times.

I got my wii u deluxe at best buy black friday in july for 259.99 (super mario bros/luigi bundle). I can't believe no one is offering that deal right now.

Bought a couple of their Samus figures for my nephews. Really nice stuff.

Yes they should. i got the New Super Mario (and Luigi) Bros deluxe bundle for $259.99 during the Best Buy 2 day sale called, Black Friday in July. It got me to run out and buy a system.
