@Harmonie No, it's not "inaccurate". Ask anybody who's played a Pokemon game. Their answer will very likely be that they started with Gen 1. And no, the franchise isn't just geared towards children. It's for people of all ages. You can still play Pokemon games and be in your 30s. It's not something to go "lol" about.

I know Generation VIII is the current generation. But we weren't talking about that. We were talking about Gen I.

@Harmonie But it IS the most iconic. Everybody knows who the likes of Pikachu, Charizard, Bulbasaur and Jigglypuff are. It's the generation that everybody grew up with. And no, I'm not underestimating that fact. And you literally said that Gen VIII got 19 Gigantamax forms while Gen I had 12. It's not about "overkill", and it's not about "terms of past generations".

@Harmonie The Gen 1 Pokemon are the most iconic period, not just to older fans. It's not about "pandering", or "leaning on" anything or "hammering in" that fact. Not all of the Gigantamax Pokemon are from Gen 1. And it's not about holding them on a pedestal either. Yes, Gen 1 may have gotten a bit more attention in recent years than people would've wanted, but that doesn't mean it's the only one that The Pokemon Company likes or wants to focus on.

@Friendly Gen 8 merchandise would be nice. And I'm not saying gen 1 is the best either. I think every generation is equal in quality.

@Harmonie I wouldn't say it's being "shoved down your face". It's not about nostalgia cards. Gen 1 is what started the Pokemon franchise in the first place, and is the most iconic group thus far. Though I do agree it would be nice to have Gen 8 merchandise like this too.

Super Mario Odyssey really is one of the best games I've ever played. Hopefully we get a game equally as good as this in the future.

Charles Martinet is truly a blessing in disguise. If he really enjoys voicing Mario this much, I hope he can continue to voice him for as long as he lives. The man deserves it.

@AndyRogan We don't know if it's Mewtwo specifically. It could be a related Pokemon, but again, we don't know for sure. It's best to take every leak and rumor with a grain of salt.

Their designs kind of remind me of Alolan Ninetales and Galarian Darmanitan.

Charizard by default for me. It's always a staple for me whenever it's a playable Pokemon for some reason.

I hope we get characters like Petey Piranha or Birdo in a future update.

@Yosher I mean, Mario Kart Tour technically is a "real" Mario Kart game, just not among the main series. Though it is rather frustrating when you don't have the driver or vehicle you need.

This game is still very addictive.

Also, it'd be awesome to have a LEGO Ridley.

Nothing beats watching Pokemon bust a move.

@Savage_Joe The Pokemon games do have a level of challenge. They just made things so much less tedious in the long run. No more having to run back and forth from one route to another just to train one Pokemon. I hated that.

@Yosher Admittedly, the single use TMs I'm not a huge fan of. All the rest really doesn't feel like that big of a deal. The art style looks fine for what they're going for, we don't know for sure if they're "playing it safe", because these remakes have ways of surprising us, and the whole "animations not perfect" thing has sort of run its course at this point.

I never understood what was wrong with the Exp. Share. It made things a lot less tedious.

I don't think there ever was a "canon". It's not about "refusing" the old formula. And I though the old formula came back after Super Paper Mario?
Nintendo doesn't want us to forget the classic Paper Mario games. I would know if they did.

@Yosher My guess is that they don't want Mario to become a Final Fantasy clone.

I was never a huge fan of RPGs anyway.

@Yosher Not really much of a difference for me. I just find some games more fun than others. I play some games more than others.

@Yosher For me, it just depends if it's a fun game. If it's fun to play, that's good enough for me.

@Judal27 We don't know that for sure. But it's okay if you don't like the other games as much.
