With Mario Party Superstars launching in just a couple of weeks' time, Nintendo has teamed up with J-pop group King & Prince for a new marketing campaign.
Following in the footsteps of Nintendo's recent campaign with K-pop group TWICE, who starred in commercials that advertised the Nintendo Switch and a variety of games, this latest effort features members of King & Prince enjoying a good game or two of Mario Party in different settings.
The group take part in a number of minigames and, in the second clip, even have some cracking Mario character hats at hand. Check them out:
Mario Party Superstars launches on Switch on 29th October. If you're wanting to grab a copy in time for release, pre-order options are now available.

VERY excited for this one!!!! ❤
One of my students absolutely loves this band. I bet she's super happy about this.
They can hire the best rock band in the world to promote this thing but if the game itself isn't up to par again then I may just wait for a discount. The fact that it brings back old Mario Party boards isn't a guarantee to a good entry in the series.
I sincerely hope the game will be good and my worries are there for nothing but... Mario spin offs as of late as a whole just aren't that great. Few exceptions aside.
Will Luigi keep winning the Mini games by absolutely doing nothing ? 😛
Hopefully they support this game with post launch content with extra boards, mini games and characters, otherwise this isn't worth the price
I just don't know why this wasn't a DLC for the current Super Mario Party.
It's what it needed to make it popular, only the 4 boards was just not good enough.
Anybody else read the title and think "But Prince is dead?" 🤷
No? Ok, this Gen-Xer will let himself out.

I checked this game out on Nintendo's official website. It didn't bother me that they were recycling boards and minigames from the N64 games as I didn't have a N64. However, I do have The Top 100 on the 3DS and it looks like this new Mario Party and Top 100 have A LOT of minigames in common. With all the games to choose from, they couldn't de-conflict? Knowing that many of the minigames are going to be the same ones I played just a few years ago is a major buzz kill.
I don't know Japanese and I don't know who this group is, but I found myself watching a lot of that.
I want that Yoshi hat.
They should have enlisted Sound Holic, but this works, I guess.
@UltimateOtaku91 Not necessarily.
@TheFox I wouldn't call it a "buzzkill".
@Yosher I don't think they've been that bad.
@mr-duster They've been okay. But they used to be excellent. They've just dipped a lot in quality.
@rjejr yep. “I don’t know Group King, but Prince is—oh ☹️”
@Yosher I didn't feel that way. I think they've all been excellent. Maybe not perfect, but I don't feel like they've dipped in quality.
@mr-duster Fair. I've been playing them since the early days and they just felt much more expansive back then. These days there's just not that many modes, and the mechanics just don't feel right to me. So yeah, definite dip in quality if you ask me, few exceptions aside. But if you feel differently then that's great for you!
@stipey Hey thanks for that, that is pretty much how I read it. My reading comprehension ain't what it used to be but sometimes I think "maybe it's not just me?". 👍
@Yosher For me, it just depends if it's a fun game. If it's fun to play, that's good enough for me.
@mr-duster Of course. But there's a difference between "okay, this is fun for an hour I guess" and "oh my gosh I could play this for hours on end". The recent Mario spin offs tend to have very little to do beyond the main attraction, making it get boring pretty fast. And even when there's side attractions, they're usually just not that good anymore either. Whereas every part of the games used to be a whole lot of fun where even the side modes could be spent hours on.
@Yosher Not really much of a difference for me. I just find some games more fun than others. I play some games more than others.
