Re: Wii U Pro Controller Feels "Amateurish", Say Kotaku

I never thought of that . To me it seems like it will probably be easier to use this remote. Everything is placed to accommodate the natural movement of the fingers. It looks like it would be extremely easy just to swing your thumb down and smack a face button.

Take a moment to think about it. Nintendo made the gamepad pro because they are now able to take hardcore games, and most hardcore games are FPS or TPS. In these games you will have your fingers on the analogs and shoulder buttons most of the time. So Nintendo made it so that your hand would only have to stretch when using the face buttons instead of the whole time. But it's still like any other dual shock.

Re: Sony: Wii U Offering "Something That Vita and PS3 can do Quite Easily"

@zezhyrule #87
It actually is superior to the PS3 and there is no argument there.
You have to understand that you did not give the best of first impressions with your comments
1: "Hey guys. They can do it. And better. That's all that matters." Nothing was used to back up the statement.
2: "They didn't say that the Sony/Vita would be a major competitor to the Wii U" Sony is stating that the Wii U isn't special because Sony can already do what it does, that is being competitive.
The problem here is that you made ignorant comments without anything to back them up. One can only assume that you are a fanboy otherwise you wouldn't have taken a side with such limited knowledge.

I do hope you realize that they are putting more than just memory into the system, the thing can stream seamlessy to two wireless screens at once and that requires some bit of hardware. Don't forget that the Wii U Gamepad is estimated to be $150 by itself.
If I could save over $10,000 on a Porsche you can bet I would be willing to carry a 30 gal tank in my trunk.

@Samholy #153
PC rigs were better than the 360 and PS3 the day they came out, it's not a very solid argument.

Re: This Rayman Legends Footage Seriously Rocks

The mistake Ubisoft made was letting us play the demo in the eShop. I got so frustrated with the controls that I put the game down. No thanks, I already went through hell with Kid Icarus and I don't fell like putting down money for this just to go through the same experience.

Re: Talking Point: Wii U and the Next Generation of Consoles

And besides, if Sony and Microsoft want to make a substantial leap over the Wii U, they will have to wait at least four years and even by then they will probably only be 1.5x stronger. And even then it doesn't matter because the Wii U can run DirectX 11 and if Sony and Microsoft want to be better then they will have to release a console that would be DirectX 12 capable and any hardware that strong will raise the consoles to an unreasonable price. And DirectX 12 most likely won't be released for another five to six years and by that time the Wii U will be dominating the market.

You do know that his opinion is shared by Sony and Microsoft fanboys, right?

@Tsuchiya #4
That is an overexaggeration of extreme lengths. Nintendo has done quite well so far without Bethesda.
Are you really comparing those two games? That just takes all of the validity out of your statement.

Re: Capcom: The Next Gen Doesn't Start With Wii U

grimbldoo

Next gen is in six years Capcom. If the Wii U is really releasing at $250, there is no way in hell that Sony and Microsoft can make a substantial leap over the Wii U and still have a reasonable price. My prediction, if they want to compete, they will probably only be 1.5x stronger than the Wii U, meaning that they can run the full version of DIrect X 11 but they wont be running 12 when it comes out.

TrueWiiMaster has been very civil this whole time, he did not once force his religion, nor has he down talked any religions. Since you have played the game, you should know that what he is saying it true.

@TrueWiiMaster
Though the obvious religious references are enough to drive Nintendo away, the game's vulgarity is more than enough to do that alone. For a company known for it's family friendliness, I don't think that they would support a game that has items like, "Mom's Pad." Let alone "the Pact" or "Book of Belial."

Not really a "welcome" but it is good to see that Nintendo is lowering walls a bit. It's fine to be "protective" in a way on the portable, but the home console needs to be open to a wider age group.
Though, to me, it seems that this is more like a privilege granted to ubisoft (like how Rare made Conker's) for now, but I see this becoming a norm.

Re: Randy Pitchford Isn't All That Into Motion Controls

grimbldoo

I think that the Zelda game for Wii U will probably use motion controls. Or maybe they will have an option to use either motion controls or the gamepad. I am hoping for this option because it will attract even more people (I prefer the motion as well).
Nintendo will continue to make games that use the motion controls, and we might see some good third party games with motion controls as devs wouldn't be forced to make a motion controlled game, it would be their own choice.

@triforcepower73 #30
I would have...just saying.

Re: Feature: In Defence of Super Mario Sunshine

I don't understand why people say they hate this. Everyone knows that it has it problems, but it was fresh and innovative. It was a step out but didn't stray too far from Mario. I would love it if they made squeal to this and fixed all of the problems.
