@Priceless_Spork No to social apps and Yes to backwards compatibility is 2006 not 2016.
Making a system backwards combatible would only drive the cost of the system up. The system's new hardware architecture and os likely won't closely resemble the new console's.
People don't want to play old WiiU games on a new console. The better bet would be to take the entire virtual console library and make it free to play with the system. Whether or not that's through a paid service like Playstation Plus or not.
Not wasting money on this anymore would be a wise idea. That industry moves fast with a new fit bit, etc coming out every few months it seems. Nintendo's slow deliberate pace wouldn't work well in this field.
All I care about is purchases (particularly virtual console purchases) transferring between systems.
I also thought that this new point system was going to work like pepsi pass where you get points for visiting locations, playing games, and hanging out with other nintendo club members?
Sounds like Nintendo is just fumbling in the dark now a days with no clear direction.
I encourage everyone to read the report on bloomberg. Nintendo Life is taking the same article and breaking up the news in 6 different articles on their site.
Glad to see Nintendo getting slightly more frequent with sales, but yeesh. These prices to start, let alone discounts are borderline insulting in comparison to psn, steam, etc.

Re: Editorial: Considering the Recipe For Successful Nintendo Remasters and Re-Releases
The pricing is off. This game should start at $40.
Re: Platinum Is Working On Collaborations That Have Yet To Be Announced
F-Zero with 40 players at once in multiplayer races.
(Battlefront can handle it - so should an F-Zero game)

Re: Soapbox: A Nintendo Fan's Hopes and Dreams for the NX
Pretty simple in my book if you want to tap into the "blue ocean" of casual gamers/your average consumers.
Make a CHEAP Apple TV like device that allows you to play every nintendo game of old. Free virtual console through monthly fee.
For more advanced games, the system can draw on processing power from your PC, other devices, etc through the cloud they've talked about.

Backwards compatibility would be a mistake.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Future Plans for 3DS and Promises That "Several Strong Titles" are Planned
@Kokusho That would be smart. They could also talk about Fates and TP since that would be releasing soon after.
It would be great to get another look at what will hopefully but unrealistically be a much improved Star Fox as well.
