@Sculptor sadly, those aren't Switch screenshots. It's from either PC or console.
The GFX on Switch version are very underwhelming. I spent the last few days looking at screenshots of Everspace on PC, Xbox, PS4 and sadly the GFX on Switch aren't very color and vibrant unfortunately. It looks good on handheld mode, but don't expect it to look colorful and crisp. I was a bit upset at how blurry the ships are, and the explosions are blocky and pixelated.
A lot of the levels seem barren and empty in comparison to PC and console version. The Switch version isn't colorful either. Where are the nebulas? The greens, purples, oranges? I've been seen a lot of black and empty space.
I hope there's a patch released soon. The game seems lacking.
It's crazy how Panic Button can do amazing things and get Wolfenstein 2 to run flawlessly.... it looks utterly spectacular too.
These game developers really ought to take note from Panic Button.
However, with all that said, I will conceed that Everspace is oddly addicting. I'm currently at work and I can't stop thinking about wanting to play Everspace. I played it last night before bed and before I knew it 3 hours had flew by. I contemplated bringing my Switch with me to work, but decided against it. But now I'm regretting that decision and now I'm at work jonzing for some Everspace.
It's the same addiction I had when Dead Cell released a few months ago! I couldn't put it down!
This game looks fantastic! I'll be pre-purchasing Gris as soon as it's available on the eShop.
I'm really loving the Nintendo Switch — so far it's ticking all of my indie and triple AAA fixes. I've been having a blast so far with Starlink, Dark Souls, Wolfenstein 2, Warframe, Dead Cells and Hyper Light Drifter.
I can't wait for Gris and Everspace this month! 2 new awesome high quality games! No cheap mobile phone game announcements either, double win!
@Ryzaerian You can play the hell out of Animus all you want. Like I said, you've got your opinion and I've got mine. I'll continue to express them, too. You being mad and uptight about me not wanting to welcome crappy mobile games to a top-tier game console is your prerogative I guess. Excuse me if I don't want garbage Dark Souls clones cluttering the eShop.
The pictures I posted of Animus are terrible. It's a cheap game not worthy of being on the Switch. That's my opinion. End of.
@Ryzaerian By floating animation I mean the main character looks like he's floating when he walks. The main character's feet doesn't look like it's planted on the ground properly — it's an obvious graphical flaw that you're ignoring because others on here have mentioned it too. But we'll agree to disagree on all the other points.
And to say Animus looks better than Dark Souls is a bold-faced lie and simply laughable, and I've got screenshots that say contrary. You only have to look at the photos illustrated below to see which game is better graphically. The Dark Souls pictures are gameplay shots that I posted on Twitter from my Switch.
You're obviously a shill for Animus. I've never seen someone go so hard for such an ordinary mobile game, so much so that you're even lambasting Dark Souls — a game that highly regarded among all gamers.
@Ryzaerian Better than Dark Souls? Funny joke, good one.
I could tell by the horrible animations and strange floating movement from the main character that this game is NOT better than Dark Souls — not even close. Animus looks like a cheap Xbox game from 2001.
I’m going to stand by my original sentiment and say that mobile games should stay off Switch... mobile games try to imitate popular triple AAA games whilst adding micro-transactions due to greed, and you end up getting 4,075 Dark Souls clones cluttering the eShop.
Mobile games don't work well on consoles. You've got developers who are only interested in monetizing and bleeding consumers. They'll go so far as to imitate a game like Dark Souls or Limbo and try to pass it off as a high quality game, when in reality it's just mobile bloatware!
Go on the Nintendo Switch subredddit, most of the people their want zero part of mobile games on the eShop. I'm not one to judge all mobile games either. I mean, Angry Birds was a really good game, but does that mean it should be on the Switch? Hell no! Cut the Rope was a good game, should it be on Switch? I sure as hell wouldn't pay for it on Switch when I have played it for free for years.
Shadow Fight was a decent game on mobile, but to PAY for it on Switch makes no sense.
Have you seen all the low quality mobile / Limbo clones on the eShop?
Why shouldn't I ignore mobile games that are looking to bleed money from me? It's ridiculous. These low quality developers are silly ... they think if they make a half-assed mobile game and give it the same style as Limbo that I'm automatically going to jump on it? Why the hell should I?
Why would I want to play a crummy mobile Dark Souls wanna-be imitation when I've already got Dark Souls Remastered? For me it's all about quality. Quality over quantity trumps all. End of.
Mobile? No thanks. Hard pass from me when it comes to mobile games on Switch.
And for the love of God, please keep mobile games away from the Nintendo Switch.
The last thing we need is more Dark Souls clones. We've already got tons of Limbo clones and other generic mobile games cluttering Nintendo's eShop. Mobile games that serve no purpose other than to bleed unsuspecting consumers of their hard-earned money, while offering nothing of real value in return.
Goggles789 has the right idea. These half-assed mobile games have no place alongside triple AAA titles.
@diwdiws well, I’m not a traditional gamer. I don’t own a PS4 or Xbox One due to the fact that I don’t have time to sit in front of a TV to play video games.
This is the first time I’m hearing about the likes of Warframe, Wolfie 2, etc.
Panic Button are geniuses! The work they're doing is truly godlike! I'm convinced they've discovered a new technology, too!
Warframe is fast becoming one of my favorite games of all time. The lore is simply awe-inspiring, the gameplay is fun and addictive too! And I can't get over how expansive Warframe is as well; the customization is just mind boggling! I'm prepared to puts lots of cash into this game, that's how much I love it.
Dear Panic Button,
If you're reading this, you guys are living legends. You've done an amazing job with Doom, Wolfie 2, and Warframe. Keep up the phenomenal work, the game world needs you!
@DartBuzzer You do that. But VR will never be mainstream.
People like to game and chill, sit back and relax playing games on their 50 inch TVs or portable systems with small screens. Not VR headsets, and VR that requires physical movement and all that other mumbo-jumbo. Do you think people are going to want to play NFL Madden or CoD in VR mode? Nope. How about a great platform/rogue-like game like Dead Cells? A game like that would make zero sense in VR mode. It would be more of a chore than anything else, too.
I have a buddy who works for Oculus Rift and even he agrees with me that VR is a cool novelty item, but it will never go mainstream, and it would never replace his beefed up MSI gaming laptop.
What's with the influx of PORTS / OLD GAMES coming to Switch all the time?
I feel like every time I turn on my computer to read Switch-related news there's either talk of a port of an old game possibly coming to Switch or there's an announcement of an old port of a game coming very soon (i.e. Virtua Racer, '92)
I'm sick of these old games/ports. I didn't buy the Switch to play decade-old game. I didn't buy the Switch to play rehashed games that we have played to death already. Nintendo Switch is turning into that go-to system to play your favorite games from a decade ago. It's super annoying. I'm cool with interesting ports like Dead Cells, Little Nightmares, Hollow Knights and games in that vein because they're not that old and work very well on a portable system — but OLD REHASHES... NO.
Virtua Racer was recently announced and people acted like it was Second Coming of Christ. Seriously. This SEGA racing game is from 1992. I don't want to play 30 year old games on my Switch.
Give us more triple AAA games ... no more of these fillers. Nobody wants to keep re-purchasing old games.
A quality indie game that isn't 8-bit (finally). I'm not crazy about graphics, but I'm tired of the 8-bit pixel stuff.
With that said, this game looks great. I'll be buying this on Day 1. But I hope there's more to it then just fighting bosses.... if it's only about fighting bosses with a little bit of exploring, well, that's bad and it will fail miserably. So hopefully there's exploration.
Look at all the butthurt kids condoning this behavior because they're upset they didn't get what they wanted from Nintendo.
Guess what? Nintendo can't please everyone. And for the record, I don't condone hacking the Nintendo Switch. Hopefully these hackers will get what's coming to them — a swift ban from Nintendo Online and the eShop as well.
I'm a huge fan of Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus (PSX).
I really wish they had released a remastered version of the above aforementioned titles.
I love Oddworld and Lorne Lanning is an absolute LEGEND. But I'm not a fan of Stranger's Wrath and not a fan of the sandbox element. I prefer Oddworld games in 2D side-scrolling motion.
Oddworld: New 'N' Tasty would have been PERFECT for Switch. What a missed opportunity.... I'm sorely disappointed that we're getting Strangers Wrath as opposed to an Abe's Oddysee game in remastered greatness.

@goggles789 you may be thinking of Galaxy on Fire 2 on iOS, which is kind of similar to Everspace.

Let Panic Button do it, I bet they could.... they're legends doing gods work. They're a credit to the video games community.

Not surprised, Warframe on Switch is FANTASTIC. AWESOME GAME.
I've been having a blast.

Panic Button are doing great work for Nintendo Switch, they're living legends.
So far the best looking game on the Switch has been Wolfie 2

I'll always prefer playing games on a screen versus anything VR or Occulus-related.
VR is niche. It's OK I guess, but I choose playing on my Switch portably 100000% over a cumbersome headset all day.
