I assumed all the constant complaints about Nintendo "not having a proper account system" and worries about no "proper account system" on the Switch stemming from this, were based in reality. Seems not!

So what you're saying is, I can unlink my 3DS, bin it, buy a new one, and relink, then download everything again?

@BLP_Software no, but absence of evidence does mean that we can't be sure. The news report is misleading as we don't yet know if what is being implied is going to happen.

@RadioHedgeFund Blimey. That's exactly what you'd hope would happen, but was never the case for anyone else! You could only recover from one 3DS to another by having access to both devices, or contacting Nintendo.

I can only assume the new owner of your old 3DS contacted them, they unlinked the hardware, and they never relinked it allowing you to. It's certainly not a "standard" thing!

@BLP_Software I know that. However, there is still NOTHING here to suggest that you can redownload purchased software on another device.

Anyway, current Wii U and 3DS purchases are tied to your Nintendo account as it is. They're just tied to your hardware as well.

@SaKo No, no suggestion. "By re-linking your Nintendo Account after initializing the console" actually suggests the SAME console. The wording is almost the same as it is on the 3DS right now.

@DBailey Nope. There's nothing to suggest that. It would technically be possible, but then it's already technically possible to allow you to get VC purchases on the 3DS if you have the same game on the Wii U - it's just Nintendo haven't done it.

This is exactly the same as on the 3DS and Wii U though. There's no suggestion here you can redownload to a different device.

Anyway, hoping they'll have 256GB cards under £80 or so reasonably soon. Got fed up having to upgrade my 3DS's card every 12 months to keep ahead of the curve!

@dumedum When was Mario revealed? The GC and Wii reveals both had Mario games that didn't exist.

I'm pretty sure none of the games shown, bar Zelda, have been confirmed - certainly not yet, anyway.

They're not officially confirmed - they're just examples. Remember the games in the Wii U reveal? They didn't exist either.

64GB here already, but it is almost full. I'll be getting Pokemon on card rather than download anyway though.

I can't tell the difference between 30 and 60fps, so don't care there. As long as the framerate is stable, anyway.

I'd rather they concentrate on great games than great graphics too.
