@rushiosan I transfer photos by emailing them from the 3DS, or by posting them on Tumblr. You'd need to take the card out to properly back it up every now and again though.
@DDStuff It essentially turns your 3DS into a NAS. Unfortunately the version of the SMB protocol they decided to use means you can't access it with a Mac. And it's really sloooooooow.
A word of warning about this guide, specifically this bit:
"Now connect your micro-SDHC card to the computer and simply copy/paste/move that former SD card content onto it."
Absolutely do NOT just do this. You have to initialise the new card on your 3DS first, then merge some of the folders from the old one with some on the new one (and they're specific folders - so be careful).
If you don't, and the official Nintendo guide doesn't do this step either, you may find data goes missing. Stuff like some game "extra" data, photos, streetpasses, progress in Streetpass Quest, some game saves, some downloaded content, etc.
I still haven't finished the stuff that came with the main game in Hyrule Warriors (I'm only 106 hours in) let alone the already-released DLC. But since I got the "season pass" (ergh at that term), I'll end up with them all anyway.
@maceng in my current 3DS I have a "Lexar Professional 64GB Class 10 UHS-1 400x 60MB/s High Speed SDXC Memory Card". I've just bought a Samsung EVO 64GB MicroSD for a magically incoming New 3DS
1) I need a second 3DS anyway. I intend to give my current one to my daughter 2) The battery life on my launch 3DS is now 90 minutes, max 3) The SD card slot intermittently stops reading SD cards 4) I don't want an XL - they're too big 5) OMG SHINY
@andrea987 That wasn't what I meant. I was responding to "how difficult is it to put at least a little effort in a game". If you've made a game, you'd know.
So where is the proof it's finally shipping? They've already said "definitely April", "I guarantee within 30 days", "they're shipping tomorrow" and all these have passed with nothing.
What I'd like to know is if they've fixed the last level so it isn't impossible any more. There's difficulty curves in games, sure, but in the Wii original this was like a gentle incline throughout the entire followed by the final level - a vertical wall twelve miles high. With spikes on it. And ninjas.
This is going to be expensive. I mean, it looks lovely and I want one, but their NeoGeo is $650. I'm sure the NES will be less than that, but we're still talking hundreds!
The Wonderswan was so cheap. I picked my first up, soon after release, for just £30. My SwanCrystal only cost about £40 too, not long after that came out. I don't think I paid more than £15 for any of the games - not even FFI, FFII and FFIV.
Loved the console, and it had some great unknown games. Disappointed that you've not mentioned Engacho! despite having a picture of it - it was certainly... unique: http://lofi-gaming.org.uk/museum/games/game.php?id=291
Also great were Flash, Tarepanda no Gunpey, and (my first game for it) Tekken Card Fighters - the only Tekken game I've ever enjoyed!
Not sure why people are getting excited about Balloon Fight being 60Hz - it isn't. It clearly says "This is an optimised release of the EU version to reflect the speed of the US title." - therefore NOT 60Hz.
Also: "Also included is a two-player link-up mode and the option to switch the order of the beast transformations; for example, the dragon becomes level one's monster and the wolf level two's. It's an interesting change and one that we admit we could have done with back in the early '90s, as it lends additional longevity to what is a painfully brief experience."

Re: Guide: How to Transfer from a 3DS to a New Nintendo 3DS / XL
@Nicolai Ages. I did the PC transfer, which took 15 minutes to transfer 40GB of games.

Re: Review: Best of Mahjong (3DS eShop)
Another Mahjongg game which isn't actually Mahjongg. Sigh.
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th January (Europe)
@Tsurii897 So the same as all the other VC games then. And they're in the VC section on the eShop.
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th January (Europe)

Good job it's the best game ever.
Re: Nintendo Download: 15th January (Europe)
Axelay, Afterburner II and Wii U Adventure Time for me. Yes, I know AT isn't great, but it's a bargain at that price so worth a punt I think.
Runner 2, Guacamelee! and SteamWorld Dig are bargains - if you've not got them yet I thoroughly recommend downloading them this week!
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Editions Already In The Hands Of Lucky Buyers

I wrote a guide on how to transfer data from one card to another (Nintendo's method doesn't copy everything) and how to use an SDXC (rather than an SD or SDHC) card: http://lofi-gaming.org.uk/blog/2013/10/25/updated-how-to-upgrade-your-3ds-sd-card-to-64gb-and-beyond/
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Editions Already In The Hands Of Lucky Buyers
@MouldyK My 64GB is 2/3rds full
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Editions Already In The Hands Of Lucky Buyers
@NintendoMaster That may be, but:
1) I need a second 3DS anyway. I intend to give my current one to my daughter
2) The battery life on my launch 3DS is now 90 minutes, max
3) The SD card slot intermittently stops reading SD cards
4) I don't want an XL - they're too big
5) OMG SHINY
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Editions Already In The Hands Of Lucky Buyers
I hate each and every one of them.
No email for me, a loyal purchaser of pretty much everything Nintendo have ever produced. And this is how they (don't) repay me?
DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO I AM?
rage
Re: Best of Mahjong
Let me guess - another game that claims to be Mahjongg but is actually just Shanghai. Again.
Why aren't there any actual Mahjongg games unless you have a Famicom?
Re: Let's Summarise the Remaining eShop Deals on Wii U and 3DS
Nothing in the UK at all? I'd have grabbed Darksiders II, Hometown Story and Harvest Moon at those prices.
Re: Actos Games Announces Wii U eShop Exclusive psyscrolr
This looks great! A bit of platforming, some puzzling, DLC Quest visuals and wolves hiding in the dark? What's not to love?
Re: Nintendo Download: 21st August (Europe)
I presume the Tomodachi demo is the same one they already gave out?
Re: Review: The Letter (Wii U eShop)

Re: Save The Universe From Evil Vegetables In Upcoming Wii U eShop title, Ice Cream Surfer
@Octane Sure, it doesn't look all that great, but there's clearly a lot of effort put in.

@Octane Have you ever made a game?
Re: Save The Universe From Evil Vegetables In Upcoming Wii U eShop title, Ice Cream Surfer
Why would a load of vegetables want to stop you eating ice cream, and eat vegetables instead? When they're vegetables. They want to you eat them.
What.
Re: Review: Swords & Soldiers (Wii U eShop)
@Reuf excellent. Once Scram Kitty is complete I'll get on it. Thanks!

Another release date. Yay?

Re: Rusty's Real Deal Baseball Has Some Interesting Localization Changes
No EU (not PAL - the 3DS isn't a TV!) release?
Re: Nintendo Shows Off April's Game Boy Advance Wii U Virtual Console Line-up
Already got all those on the GBA, no need to buy them again to play them on the big screen - I can use my Game Boy Player or the Retron 5.
Re: Developer Interview: Causal Bit Games On Scratching That Hardcore Itch With Insanity's Blade
Eh? It doesn't look anything like Altered Beast.

Re: Developer Interview: Causal Bit Games On Scratching That Hardcore Itch With Insanity's Blade
Hyped for this. Reminds me of Wolfchild, actually.
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th March (Europe)
Holding out for an Unepic or Castlestorm price reduction, so nothing this week for me.
Re: Nintendo of America Releases Snaps of Young Celebrities Plugging Yoshi's New Island
I had no idea there was a TV series called About a Boy.

Literally no idea who any of those people are. And surely the kid from About a Boy should be in his 20s now? How come he looks 10?

Re: Review: Mahjong 3D - Essentials (3DS eShop)

Sigh.
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th September (Europe)
Yet another Mahjongg game that isn't Mahjongg. When are we going to get a proper one?
Re: Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure to Save the World on 24th September
@hydeks Yeah, problem is it's £40 or something to import, when I have a preorder for £20.
Re: Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure to Save the World on 24th September
@MrSRArter We got nothing.
Re: Scribblenauts Unmasked: A DC Comics Adventure Saving the World on 24th September
But when is Scribblenauts Unlimited coming out? We still haven't got that yet

Re: First Impressions: 3D Altered Beast
@Damo I used it so frequently I forgot it wasn't a standard feature
Re: First Impressions: 3D Altered Beast
The graphics on the MD version (on which this appears to be based) are nowhere near as good as on the arcade original: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RswiLl7_v6E

@Alphack3r It's my tagline! They stole it! https://twitter.com/dekay01/status/339652752663801856

That facility was in the original Megadrive game!
