These Canadian prices are terrible. Donkey Kong is $70 USD, games of that price are usually converted to about $90 CAD, but nope it’s now $100 CAD for DK because why the hell not. Don’t even get me started on Mario Kart. 😭

Doubt it could even run well on the switch anyways as it runs terribly on PS4 and is even skipping the Xbox One with this new release. On another note no idea why this comment section is so against the game coming to Switch when you just simply not play the damn game instead of complaining that it would ruin your precious console. It's not like anyone is forcing you to play it so just move on with your day instead of whining on the internet (won't happen)

Out of the ones I've played I definitely enjoyed all of them expect X-2 (gameplay is fun at times but the story is horrible) and XV (Characters kinda suck, story is pretty bad, combat is garbage and the open world is really boring). I'm also a newer fan as I started with VII Remake a few years ago before playing the OG after so I haven't played a lot of the games. I also feel like ranking XVI this high is a hot take but I will stand by it.

Sonic Mania, Mario Odyssey, Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, all the Final Fantasy games and Smash Ultimate would all be great games for this list

Technically retail game are also pay to win because you have to buy the game to win.

That fact that so many people in the comment section are comparing this to any generic EA game is weird because all they showed was an in development 3 minute trailer with lots more differences, way more than any FIFA game in the last 5 years.I know Splatoon 2 was considered too similar to the first in many regards which is worrying to some people especially for the single player content. I still say it is too early to judge the game yet and I would wait to see for all the differences between the last game with hopefully having a single player campaign as good as the Octo Expansion.

Playing Smash, Celeste and Minecraft

@gojiguy Well the game is an indie game that is specifically online.

@Mamabear There is cross play since I’ve played a bunch of games with friends on mobile and pc. It’s also $5 since there are no ads unlike the mobile version which has them. Plus there’s that glitch that lets you play the new map early thats only is on switch.

As a fan of both games this is super dumb for Nintendo.

I love The Manalorian but I really dislike Fortnite.

It’s not just melee it’s all of smash as a whole.
Melee isn’t even dead now, so I don’t get the whole “melee should stay dead”.
Also if Nintendo supported the competitive seen a little more than none of this would’ve happened as the tournaments would’ve been a lot more organized.

@Iggy-Koopa I know Nintendo had the right but Slippi (which is the online mod) has made no money at all as it is a free project.

@Wexter For the record I am not a melee fanboy as I have not played the game.
I’m just saying that they haven’t supported the competitive scene as much as companies like Capcom or Bandai Namco.

@Wexter I think the reason Nintendo did that on The Big House was because they were originally sponsoring them.
I also think people are overeating over the #FreeMelee a little bit, as so many other non sponsored tournaments had happened without issue.
But I do see were the #SaveSmash is coming from as Nintendo could’ve supported the scene a whole lot more than they are now.

@Sinton Yeah, but Nintendo isn’t making a profit off melee anymore and Slippi also was never making a profit.

@Wexter yes but it does not change the fact that Nintendo does have the right to do it, but it does not mean it’s right to do it.
And Nintendo should at least do something with Slippi and Melee like hire the creator for either Ultimate online to improve it or a Melee port of some kind.
Take Sonic Mania for example, Sega decided that fans just like these that made their own fan games before should be hired.

@Edu23XWiiU First of all Ultimate’s online is trash and Melee has a more competitive environment with different mechanics.
How would you like it if your job had a workaround so you could do it at home, but the company decided to ban it and make you go there in person during a pandemic.
So how about you grow the hell up.
