Re: Guide: The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's Captured Memory Locations

blaisedinsd

I would of liked a guide that tells you where to find the traveling guy that describes the picture locations to you.

I thought it was a bit more fun to hunt for the locations from his description than just looking it up.

I found most of the memories this way but didn't know if he revealed all memory locations so I didn't bother looking too hard for him.

Re: Talking Point: Considering the Angles of a Portable and Dynamic Nintendo NX

@JaxonH

I seriously don't see the appeal of having a more space consuming dock rather than simply a cable.

I simply don't believe that a console can realistically be made that plays breath of the wild portable the same as it does non-portable on a television.

I certainly wouldn't buy a whole new console in order to play Wii U quality games regardless if its portable or not. I also don't think they can make a satisfactory portable capable of running that game when it's already pushing Wii U to its limits.

The Wii needed to be upgraded as it wasn't even in HD. The Wii U, if not correcting the power gap, has no compelling reason to be upgraded. If NX can't run any better games than 3DS or Wii U than why bother making it?

Re: Talking Point: Considering the Angles of a Portable and Dynamic Nintendo NX

PSP had tv out and it wasn't a big deal so that as the selling point for the NX is a joke.

Super Gameboy and Gameboy Player were not a big deal either and that's basically NX.

Portable competing in power with Wii U let alone PS4 and Xbone is a hard fail waiting to happen. Its either not enough power or battery life and cost will kill it.

Just putting 3DS games on TV will not sell consoles.
Just putting Wii U games on portable will not sell consoles.
Consolidating Wii U and 3DS in to one console will not sell consoles. It will kill them both.

If this is true Nintendo is doomed. I can't even comprehend the concept so how are they going to convince consumers? Why do the controllers detach from the screen? So you can reconnect them with out the screen to form your home version of the controller? Who wants this? I don't care for my Wii U to be more portable or less powerful? I don't want to give up my second screen and 3D on my portable just so I can reconfigure it to play on the Television at home. NINTENDO IS DOOMED IF THIS IS TRUE!

@A01 I don't personally like or own guns but it is ridiculous to say that not owning a gun is common sense. Seriously? Every one who owns a gun lacks common sense for doing so? I support peoples rights to own guns even if I don't personally make that choice for myself. I want the option.

Re: Poll: Vote for Your Favourite Legend of Zelda Games - 30th Anniversary Edition

Why people have to bash others favorites? Seems skyward sword inspires the most hate followed by the DS enteries. I thought the control schemes were perfectly fine in both these games and if you couldn't adjust to them you really missed out. Secondly I didn't find Fi or the hand holding really any different than any other zelda game. I find Skyward Sword to simply have the best controls of any 3D zelda I have played with the stamina meter and motion plus. The overworld actually challenged you instead of just walking around an empty field. The combat actually challenged you instead of simply spamming a button.

I just realized I haven't really played 4 swords (a bit on 25th annizersay release) or tri force heroes either along with only slightly playing Majoras Mask, not completeing Minish Cap, or the oracle games.

Re: Poll: Vote for Your Favourite Legend of Zelda Games - 30th Anniversary Edition

The original is the original and one of the greatest games of all time. If you didn't vote for this you probably were not old enough to appreciate it when it came out. First game I ever played that let you save.

I also voted for a link to the past. This game is a master piece that restored and expanded upon the legacy of the first game after they tried something different with the Adventure of Link. Played it when it came out.

My third vote goes to Skyward Sword. It is the most advanced 3D zelda and the one I enjoyed the most. To me the overworld having so many dungeon like puzzles, the dungeons are my favorite, and the combat is the most nuanced and complex, and the best graphics of any 3D zelda. This was my second 3D Zelda game after TP, played it when it came out.

I have not completed Minish Cap, The Oracle Games, or Majoras Mask and those are my votes. Played OOT on VC and completed on 3DS. Played WW HD version. Others on original consoles on release.

Re: Talking Point: For Better Or For Worse, The Wii U GamePad Is Here To Stay

This article is non-sense. Making the gamepad mandatory has little to do with the success of these strategies.

A Wii sports? That was a launch game. We have seen years now of Nintendo trying and failing to make the gamepad appealing, why is that going to change? NFC? Comon now, 3DS does not have NFC but that doesn't stop them from having NFP on 3DS does it?

Making the gamepad appealing is making the gamepad appealing. What is foolish is saying everyone has to buy the gamepad (and use it when not neccessary as well) and the appeal of the gamepad is the only thing being counted on to save the Wii U. So they haven't been trying to make the gamepad appealing since launch?

Let people buy a "core system" to play games like Mario Kart and you have a win win situation. The gamepad doesn't die because it is still cool and it is still loved and it is still better than kinect....some people just don't want/need it and probably will pass on the console all together.

A $200 Mario Kart bundle with no gamepad would help the Wii U a lot more than a $330 Mario Kart bundle with a gamepad....if Nintendo can't see that they are simply being stubborn or foolish or both.

Re: Talking Point: Is There A Future For The Wii U Without The GamePad?

blaisedinsd

Lots of over reaction in these comments.

Wii u being offered without a gamepad does not magically take the gamepad away from everyone who likes it. I love it. I still think they should offer the console with out it.

I love it, bit I still don't like being forced to use it. If I want to play it annoying to have to get up and fetch the gamepad if I already have a controller. Give me the option to use the controller in my hand.

A gimped bundle with no gamepad should be offered and sold with a warning that some games/features will not work with out a gamepad (sold seperaterly).

Offer a discounted version for those who don't want it. Is mk8 or smash going to be worthless with out it? Why not offer a bundle for $50 cheaper without the gamepad? They would turn a profit on that bundle while taking a loss in the full bundle. Those with a gamepad lose nothing. Those who don't want one may buy it because it's cheaper and they are not interested in its features.

Re: Talking Point: Is There A Future For The Wii U Without The GamePad?

I do not see the problem. I love the gamepad but I see no reason that it must continue to be required and bundled with every Wii U for the entire life of the console. Even as someone who loves it, requiring it is still annoying at times and even if it is always bundled I would still appreciate a software update to remove its unneccessary requirement (let me start my console, enter my password, and start my game with my pro controller please). The gamepad will still have a massive install base among Wii U users and can still be refined and supported. Not requiring doesn't mean it has to be killed. Making it more enticing so even users who buy a "basic(no-gamepad)" bundle may want to go ahead and purcahse one seperately. Pre-install patches for games that require it that don't need to, and for games that can not be played without it at all simply re-label them (but really you could maybe just have a list on the box). Bundle a pro-controller and Mario Kart 8and sell it for $180. I think it is going to happen. See dropping 3D from the 3DS to get a lower price point to help expand user base when Pokemon launched. That came out of nowhere and I expect them to keep this a surprise as well.
