Re: Nintendo France Will Repair Or Replace Faulty Joy-Con Even After The Warranty Has Expired

backinthegame

@Kienda so I saw the article stating switch was back in stock for pre order on Nintendo uk site thought I’d take a look and possibly buy another as a spare. I then sent an email to their customer service asking weather the now replenished stock had internal changes to rectify the joy con drift and weather they could confirm or deny this after 2 days I received an email stating that they have “no comment on my query and if I have any other issues please don’t hesitate to contact them” for the record I have had drift on my original right gray one which I replaced the stick and is still working fine over 200hrs later. I have recently had drift on my left gray one which I thought would be as easy to fix as the right one, I was wrong and defeated by one screw on the thumb stick which when looking at it had the head stripped so I couldn’t even get the screw driver to bite, I ended up selling the battery on eBay and binning the rest of it as I had voided the warranty by opening it. I now have purchased a set of orange and purple ones as they have a build date Oct 19, strange thing is when I brought them from curry’s pc world I asked for their extended anything happens policy on them and was told they are exempt from it on the manufacturers instructions. Make of that what you will but I believe nothing has yet been done to rectify any build issues surrounding the joy con drift.

@Pj1 you’re welcome, same here. I find there are not enough updates on the 3rd party games that get articles published on here still waiting to find out any news on bulletstorm duke of switch and alien isolation got my copy of Witcher, ghostbusters, buldars gate, neverwinter nights, planescape, doom eternal and wolfenstien Youngblood all on pre order. I missed out on machinarium as that was with strictly limited games.

Re: Poll: Have Your Joy-Con Been Drifting?

Right stick constantly drifting down and occasionally getting stuck in the down position. Left stick occasionally drifting off to the left. Always treated carefully never dropped I either play hand held or table top only. Still under warranty so once I am back to civilisation I’ll be logging a repair with Nintendo

Re: Bethesda's Pete Hines Says "It's Clear" The Studio Is Bringing New Players To Switch

@Doktor-Mandrake no I guess you’re not but considerably younger than myself. I get the different game style so point taken there. I suppose the comparison for me is the whole cartoon type characters just not my thing. However it was for people like yourself of my sisters generation. And that’s where the comparison comes from I grew au with cartoon type games mario/sonic and my sisters generation had pokemon. But hay each to their own. But I can definitely say I brought my switch for 3rd party games and yes the first games I brought for switch were Bethesda titles.

Have to comment on this one.

For me I brought my switch for the fact I can play Skyrim, doom, wolfenstein, saints row and assassins creed. All either portable or in table top mode. I have lived off grid without mains power for over 5 years. One of my favourite pass times was Xbox 360, and now with switch being able to run from 12v charger with minimal power usage and the fact I can play the games I mentioned above. Fantastic. Hence backinthegame. I own 1 Nintendo title I’m just struggling to play/enjoy. Mario well mario is great and I I have fond childhood memories of him. Pokemon I assume is today’s kids alternative to mario, Definitely not my thing. Each to their own.

So yes Bethesda definitely brought me back to Nintendo.

Re: Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights And More D&D Classics Coming To Switch

Still waiting to see any of these available retail in the UK. For days this and thought I’d repost it as I haven’t seen any news on these here for a while

“ Games will release standalone boxed versions of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Planescape: Torment/Icewind Dale Enhanced Edition at major retailers on Oct. 1, 2019, in North America and Oct. 4 in other territories. Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition will release Dec. 3, 2019 in North America and Dec 6 in other territories for PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.”

The enhanced collectors editions look great but very pricey. I’m sure they are only available from skybound and are out now for pre order. Didn’t provide any links as I’m not sure if it is against the forum rules.

Just got this today, included in the box is a nice little art book, not sure if all content including encounters is included on the cart yet, I hope it is. Not played it yet the time needs to be right for this one. I have high hopes for this. It’s a shame starlink battle for atlas hasn’t had a full physical release.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Finds Assassin's Creed III Remastered On Switch "Hard To Recommend"

Loving it another AAA 3rd party on the go, off grid no mains power. As for the game itself, I have played and 100% completed all AC games on the 360 and yes this was my least favourite but us beggars can’t be choosers. Visually I have no issues with it, my only complaints after over 20 hrs play time are the occasional audio crackle and one “unexpected error caused the software to close” I have found that after updating and downloading the dlc things have improved some. Also turned the subtitles off as they don’t quite sync with the audio. If you want it buy it play it enjoy it, hopefully we will get the rest of them. Don’t be put off.

Re: Bethesda Confirms Wolfenstein: Youngblood Will Include A Download Code Instead Of A Game Card

backinthegame

This really sucks as I was hoping for this to sit nicely next to Skyrim and Doom and Wolfenstein. Bethesda think of the fans.

However I probably will still buy this non physical physical edition just for shelf appeal and to keep the 3rd party support alive even if it means I have to buy an extra sd card for this game only to be stored in the box.

If this is what I have to do to be able to play quality 3rd party games on switch then so be it.

I am very disappointed by this I hope Doom eternal isn’t heading for the same treatment.

Re: Review: Darksiders: Warmastered Edition - The End Of The World Comes To Nintendo Switch

Loving it so far, amazing to be able to play these excellent 3rd party games in handheld.
Keep them coming it is my only viable way of gaming now.

Just a question did anyone have any problems getting this on release day in the uk?

I did, had it on pre order from amazon for release day delivery, email that morning saying it’s been delayed. So cancelled the order. Reserved at GAME. I pick it up after work and was told I was lucky it’s their last copy. Either this game is extremely popular, or is there supply issues with this in the uk.

Also the spine on the box thankfully is red and not black like it was mentioned on here somewhere.
