Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2

axelhander

Remember a while back when it was revealed that Microsoft wanted to buy Nintendo, and Nintendo loyalists were all indignant about how evil ol' Xbox would corrupt their "good" "wholesome" brand?

Oh hey here's Nintendo doing exactly what Microsoft and Sony do, and most likely in collusion with them: raising the price of games to obscene, unreasonable highs.

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?

It was aggressively okay. They spent way too much time on the stupid C button and on the "we have Discord at home" features, and lol @ that explore Switch 2 game being PAID. But otherwise neat.

The value proposition for the Switch 2 upgrades is interesting because they're more than just better fidelity and more RAM, they actually have extra features and stages and the like. The Kirby and the Forgotten Land upgrade is the only one I'm eyeing, as I didn't quite do ALL the post-game content and this is a good excuse to revisit a good game.

Re: After Copying Smash's Homework, MultiVersus Publisher Was Apparently Turning To Mario Kart Next

@FawfulsFury Rollback netcode is the big one. Beyond that it's all subjective, but I much prefer any game that lets me use digital controls instead of analog. I'm a way bigger fan of the character movesets in MVS, and the easy-to-understand universal system of how many air actions you're allowed (recovery is something I enjoy in MVS way more than Smash).

Now don't get me wrong: Smash Ultimate 2: Wrath of the Planet Eater gives me those things and I'll be real damn happy. It's still a bummer that an inkling of competition comes along, has real effort behind it, gets sunk by greed, and then you get this idiotic headline about MVS copying homework.

@missingno_fgc No, other than blocking, mixups, special moves, the timer, ringouts, Mario as the resident shoto with a fireball and anti-air uppercut, the fact that Ryu/Ken/Terry/Kazuya translate into the game almost flawlessly, and I'll stop here because I assume you understand why what you said was silly.

The cultural divide between the FGC and the Smash Community is that the former actually values playing to win while the latter did things like boo Wobbles, neuter the game for a tournament ruleset that's boring to watch, and oh yeah all the horrific abuse and assault allegations that are way more common in the Smash Community than in the FGC at large.

Re: Talking Point: Will Metroid Prime 4 Get A Switch 2 Release?

axelhander

I'm 40% certain that Metroid Prime 4 will be similar to Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild; a title that's released on both the outgoing and incoming system, with "improvements" (quoted because of Twilight Princess's garbage motion controls on Wii) for the new one.

Perhaps instead of two SKUs however, Metroid Prime 4 will work on both systems; if you have the card it's boot off of either hardware, and if you have the e-version it'll be the appropriate version for the console it's on.
