And no, this stupid Welcome Tour app should NOT cost anything above $0.00.
You know, if Xbox was smart (and not, as I suspect, colluding with Nintendo/Sony to drive up prices), their upcoming rumored Xboxes that are actual PCs/laptops would be significantly cheaper than the Switch 2. We already know they're going to be more powerful and versatile, so why not take advantage of the backlash over Switch 2 console/game prices?
Remember a while back when it was revealed that Microsoft wanted to buy Nintendo, and Nintendo loyalists were all indignant about how evil ol' Xbox would corrupt their "good" "wholesome" brand?
Oh hey here's Nintendo doing exactly what Microsoft and Sony do, and most likely in collusion with them: raising the price of games to obscene, unreasonable highs.

It was aggressively okay. They spent way too much time on the stupid C button and on the "we have Discord at home" features, and lol @ that explore Switch 2 game being PAID. But otherwise neat.
The value proposition for the Switch 2 upgrades is interesting because they're more than just better fidelity and more RAM, they actually have extra features and stages and the like. The Kirby and the Forgotten Land upgrade is the only one I'm eyeing, as I didn't quite do ALL the post-game content and this is a good excuse to revisit a good game.
@Patrick76 To be clear I wasn't trying to crap on SNK. But sure, let's say Smash is more inspired by the likes of Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, and King of Fighters. Doesn't ultimately change that Nintendo found inspiration from something else, and now people are all indignant that MultiVersus iterated on Nintendo.
@FawfulsFury Rollback netcode is the big one. Beyond that it's all subjective, but I much prefer any game that lets me use digital controls instead of analog. I'm a way bigger fan of the character movesets in MVS, and the easy-to-understand universal system of how many air actions you're allowed (recovery is something I enjoy in MVS way more than Smash).
Now don't get me wrong: Smash Ultimate 2: Wrath of the Planet Eater gives me those things and I'll be real damn happy. It's still a bummer that an inkling of competition comes along, has real effort behind it, gets sunk by greed, and then you get this idiotic headline about MVS copying homework.
@missingno_fgc This is akin to taking issue with me saying that chives are similar to green onions because they're not the same plant.
Anywho, as I told someone else, been playing SF games since the 90s. And everything inspired by it, including Fatal Fury and World Heroes games, and Tekken/VF/Soul Edge (hey look ringouts!). What I said remains true.
@missingno_fgc No, other than blocking, mixups, special moves, the timer, ringouts, Mario as the resident shoto with a fireball and anti-air uppercut, the fact that Ryu/Ken/Terry/Kazuya translate into the game almost flawlessly, and I'll stop here because I assume you understand why what you said was silly.
The cultural divide between the FGC and the Smash Community is that the former actually values playing to win while the latter did things like boo Wobbles, neuter the game for a tournament ruleset that's boring to watch, and oh yeah all the horrific abuse and assault allegations that are way more common in the Smash Community than in the FGC at large.
@ArcadeSixties The issue is that a poorly made 4+ hour video on plagiarism has people virtue signalling over what is and isn't okay to take as inspiration. So you get articles like this.
I'm 40% certain that Metroid Prime 4 will be similar to Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild; a title that's released on both the outgoing and incoming system, with "improvements" (quoted because of Twilight Princess's garbage motion controls on Wii) for the new one.
Perhaps instead of two SKUs however, Metroid Prime 4 will work on both systems; if you have the card it's boot off of either hardware, and if you have the e-version it'll be the appropriate version for the console it's on.
Limbo always struck me as pretentious and stupid. I think it started my disdain for artsy garbage games that do nothing but sniff their own proverbial farts. Seeing the bickering behind the scenes is unsurprising.
@Milk_ If you liked all the story elements about and surrounding Zeal, you may enjoy Chrono Cross. If you didn't, you may not. But the only way to know for sure is to try it.

Re: Switch 2 Devs May Assign Specific Inputs To Pro Controller's Back Buttons
No word on if it's hall effect sticks or not, nor if the d-pad is improved over the garbage d-pads on the Switch 1 Pro Controllers.
Re: Yes, You Can Adjust The Sensitivity Of The Switch 2's Mouse Controls
I hope you can just plug in or pair a real mouse for compatible games.
Re: It's Official, Switch 2 Joy-Con Will Not Feature Hall Effect Sticks
That sucks, but since hall effect uses magnets it's possible that it impeded it. No word if the Pro Controller 2 uses hall effect sticks; I hope so.
Re: Street Fighter 6 amiibo Revealed - Price, Exclusive Rewards And amiibo Cards
I like the Luke and Kimberly sculpts a lot.
They're all good actually.
Re: Opinion: Oh No, I'm Not A Fan Of Switch 2's Mouse Mode At All
It would be nice if they let you plug in or pair a REAL mouse instead.
Re: Mario Kart World: Course List - Every Confirmed Track
Game's looking pretty jean shorts. I can't wait.
Re: "DROP THE PRICE!!!" Scream Nintendo Fans During Nintendo's Treehouse Live Broadcast
@bluemage1989 It is faaaaaaar more childish to fail to understand why people are upset over raising prices in 2025.
Re: "DROP THE PRICE!!!" Scream Nintendo Fans During Nintendo's Treehouse Live Broadcast
@ScalenePowers This is a good practice in general.
Re: "DROP THE PRICE!!!" Scream Nintendo Fans During Nintendo's Treehouse Live Broadcast
@bluemage1989 Why? They're right to be upset over these ridiculous prices.
Re: "DROP THE PRICE!!!" Scream Nintendo Fans During Nintendo's Treehouse Live Broadcast
The big 3 are colluding on this, mark my words.
Re: Hands On: Mario Kart World Brings The Utter Chaos In Knockout Mode
Mario Kart Forza, basically.
Re: The Switch 2's Battery Is Almost A Match For The Steam Deck's
@rushiosan Again: depends on the game. PSO2 New Genesis lasts way longer (hours) than Baldur's Gate 3 (less than an hour).
Re: The Switch 2's Battery Is Almost A Match For The Steam Deck's
@rushiosan Depends on the game. For most, it's fine.
Re: The Switch 2's Battery Is Almost A Match For The Steam Deck's
So glad a less powerful system has a worse battery.

@DonJorginho This right here. Nintendo remains evil and people cheer them for it.
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?
@Ks123 People are allowed to be critical of Nintendo.
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct?
@mjhopkins81 lol not even wrong. Was wondering why they spent so much time on that when games are their strong suit.

@Rusty_Ruby RIGHT? on what planet is it okay to CHARGE for that?

And yes, SNK deserves its due.

Re: Sakurai Says Japanese Developers Should Avoid Trying To Appeal To Western Tastes

Nothing wrong with Western games either. Devs should put out the vision they want to put out.

Re: Feature: But The Future Can Change - Chrono Trigger And Learning To Love The World
I love this game... until I reach Zeal, and then Masato Kato's garbage narrative grabs hold and never lets go.
But at least it's better than Cross; that game is a mess front to back, aside from the hauntingly beautiful OST.
Re: Rumour: Xbox Expected To Join Switch 2 With A New Handheld This Year
@Thomystic If your Deck is out of warranty you could try a DeckHD screen upgrade: https://www.deckhd.com/index
If my Deck's screen ever dies that's what I'm going to do, as it's out of warranty already. What is there to lose?
