@Grant007 There are many videos showing gameplay. It’s been know about for almost 2 years. Also it’s the same publishers as Stardew valley. Like Team17 they are quite reputable for the games they release.
This is one of those games that I can confidently say will be very good.
@Kainbrightside @Kainbrightside See I’m the opposite. I badly want Metroid Prime in the Switch. But I am worried they use the motion controls. I loved the controls on the GameCube.
I hope they allow both personally. I think that would be the best way about it.
@Heavyarms55
Game dev story doesn’t, and all the titles I played didn’t either. I get your concern, I think the same way. But from what I can gather these games won’t have any in them.
However I think their sequel games did have MTs in.
I can’t say I know exactly what the Switch is capable of in that way, or that I actually understand you fully.
But from my understanding the Switch can cope with more demanding games than the XB360, and Diablo isn’t that demanding at all according to the specs requirements.
@BanjoPickles Micro transactions should never have existed. I wanted SWB2, but out of protest, I won’t buy it, even if it comes to the Switch. Lots of people have done their part in voting with their wallets, I don’t intend on differing.
Shame though, I would really have loved a good SW shooter.
@StuOhQ I hope so too. As long as sales keep going throughout the year, I see no reason why not. Besides, they released it on PS3 and XB360, which suggests it’s still profitable, so there is no reason to stop supporting it, especially when support may grow with the success and the change of attitude towards the console to gamers.
@datamonkey haha, I you weren’t the only people posting about FIFA.
I have noticed the same. PS3 version sold more than the Switch initially, but the PS3 version sales dropped quickly. I believe that it’s partly due to FIFA being popular amongst casual gamers, or those that mostly play one game. For many, like a few I know, didn’t upgrade to the PS4 for a while, as they were happy playing the FIFA on the PS3. However those that buy FIFA on the Switch, I believe will be more likely, like myself, who likes a variety of games including FIFA. I think for this reason, as you said, on the Switch sales will continue steadily for a longer period.
I also assume as I said earlier, that as newer FIFA versions come out that sales will get stronger year on year, as more, non die hard Nintendo fans buy the Switch, and who are probably more likely to buy FIFA.
I think as time goes by and the Switch becomes more common and popular, that games like FIFA will sell again on Nintendo consoles.
It’s almost a shame if that because of the Wii with its lack of traditional controllers, and the Wii U for its lack of sales, that people have stopped considering FIFA on Nintendo. Hopefully that will change, like it did for me.
To be honest, I hope this flops badly. We don’t want to give publishers room for this sort of stuff. Unlike PS4/XB1, not hating, but they are too common there, lets keep Nintendo pure.
I supported FIFA on the Switch. I love having a variety of games, and I intend on having the Switch as my primary platform.
I seriously hope people begin to support these games and stop seeing Nintendo as a Nintendo games only console or we will have he same problems as before with 3rd parties.
Although these are the day one sales, I imagine most day one buyers are more casual gamers, (no offence), as it’s one of those games. So it might just be that Nintendo hasn’t caught the casual gamers yet. So sales of FIFA May continue steadily with new Switch buyers over time, which I think is likely.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Yea, I get what you mean. But to start with for the console, it helps out catchup for some games that Nintendo fans missed. Also it is early on, and these games are likely to test the waters. I doubt they will keep releasing ports after the first year. Maybe a few indies or games like Mario maker which would do well with a port for people that didn’t own a wii U or something.
Hopefully anyway. More new games would be good. It would help sell the console better, as people can then justify the choice between XB/PS/NS
@zionich aye I agree with yo strongly on that part. You make a very good point.
I still think that too many kids are exposed to things that shouldn’t be the case. Gambling is one of the few things that I feel deserves to be resitricted, just like alcohol or smoking.
I guess the good pat is that either way the politicians will think it through logically and eithically (presumably) and debate any decisions like that outta find the right decision. Theoretically anyway.
@zionich I still see an issue with gambling currently. It’s addictive and doesn’t promote anything good, apart from get rich quick, which devalues work and effort.
The problem bough, is that these games, whether kids are allowed to buy premium point system to use them, most games give you a few for free occasionally to try appeal to gamers. Basically giving kids the first dollar or pound free to put in a slot machine. And I know not all games have that same loot box style gambling, but any Microtransactions that has no limit in costs, (those that have £80 worth of premium points), just don’t sit right with me. It’s almost unethical where you don’t really get anything apart from some slight boost to feed an ‘addiction’.
@Crono1973 I have thought the exact same thing! Also found much evidence to back it up. E.g Tomb raider being a failure despite selling 4~ million.
The switch is more powerful than the ps3 and Xbox 360, which was a point where developing was already unsustainable with the costs. But yet I feel the graphical power was still good enough back then. I read an article saying how it was probably a good thing the Switch can’t cope with big games for the exact reason that it will stop the pursuit of graphical intensity.
@zionich maybe you are right about it when regulating gaming just because some don’t like it, however I do think there is a potentially serious problem with children and promoting the essence of gambling.
@zionich aye that is one of the reasons why we have MTs and DLCs. I made a comment about this further up, about development costs, and the pursuit for graphics.
Nintendo and Indies do fine, because they don’t focus on blades of grass and rather on gameplay and innovation.
@oatmealwarrior92 the issue is, is that as individuals we can’t change the industry, and it’s frustrating. With gaming, our hobby is effected by how others spend their money. So we are at the mercy of others. If it keeps going the way it does, we may have very few games that we like to play as few have no Microtransactions.
@PtM aye, that is my issue. Star Wars Battlefront 2 for example. It’s looks really good, but yet if I were to get it (although I won’t as they won’t release it on the Switch), id be supporting it. FIFA also.
@Neferupitou I say that’s where the problem originated. Alongside, people’s unwillingness to pay a fair price to support developers. (Mobile gaming is a perfect example of price difference). High cost, lower consumer value of games. So they need another revenue model.
@JamesR aye, I see the same thing. MTs seem to be severely killing the quality and experience of gaming. I’m worried, but I actually hope there is another video game crash just to stop it. Nintendo and Indies will be the ones who save the industry.
Another issue is the aim for intense graphics, lack of innovation, which is increasing the developement cost. Making developers sell up, like during the 7th generation of gaming where 80% of AAA developers went out of business due to costs,
@Grumblevolcano aye, I agree. I’ve come to realise the negatives of amiibo. They are cool and good ideas, but restricting content to something that I don’t want is t good. Also the amount of them are too many. Sometimes it’s done well like I. mK8 deluxe, but when it restricts things that I’d consider to be part of the game, it sucks a little.
Still better than Microtransactions and loot boxes though. I hope they die.
@FragRed I was thinking about it recently how November hasn’t got any 1st party releases. But has tons of 3rd parties. I believe they have done this on purpose to promote people buying 3rd parties, as the success of the console depends upon it.
If they had tons of major releases this year, and not done what they have by steadily releasing a game per month, I believe it could have drowned out the sales of 3rd parties, and had a negative effect on the future.
Nintendo will always release its own games, but timing is crucial here.
@rjejr oh fair enough. I wasn’t suggesting people give up their other consoles. Besides I only have a PS3. I bought Kingdom hearts 1.5 as I heard it’s really good, but haven’t had time for it to be honest.
But I was just stating that Nintendo Switch has become my primary platform. And don’t intend on just buying Nintendo games either.
These games really need to succeed if we want more 3rd parties. Also let’s hope people stop seeing Nintendo as a Nintendo games only console.
I dismissed the idea of investing a PS4/XB1 over the Switch, and I intend on it being my only platform. I also intend on buying a variety of games, that aren’t just Nintendo games.
I love the Metroid Prime series, (although the 3rd I wasn’t keen on the motion controls). I liked how they did the controls on the GameCube, and hope they have alternative options this time.
They are rightly doing so to support the 3DS so well still.
If they decide to make a new handheld, they will want to have the Switch to be settled in for a year or two.
I see no reason to kill the 3ds yet, rather I think let it drop off during 2018 slowly. And then they can either announce some amazing Hanheld that links to the Switch in some way or at least be certain that the Switch is going to fill the gaps.

Exact same thoughts as you there.
It worried me for a second.
Re: Super Mario Odyssey Passes The 10 Million Sold Marker
@Spoony_Tech that is my thoughts also.
A lot of people that bought it, I imagine we’re probably non avid gamers. And those that saw the adds thinking it was amazing.
I don’t mind them doing something different. But I’d rather they put focus still on their graveyard full of games.

It was originally released on the XB360/PS3. Of course it will be fine.
Re: Rollercoaster Tycoon Could Be Coming To The Switch
@AlexOlney I agree, I initially was excited with that idea, but I realised it’s just the Microtransactions filled trash on mobile.
Even if they do take out the Microtransactions, the experience will still be affected like with Gears Club Unlimited, from their previous existence.
Re: UK Pricing For Nintendo Labo Is Confirmed
@jsty3105 my thoughts too.
I hope they sell the game separately. It will stop anyone complaining about the price, and they can literally make their own.
But most probably won’t even do that.

If you love gaming or Nintendo, then you wouldn’t pirate games. It will only damage sales, and therefore damage support for the Switch.
