@Silly_G Least your not one of the people that accrued enough carrots to get Level 5 card from EB! I use them for price matching only and the people at my local store are pretty good to deal with and have a general chat on gaming.
There is threads on r/Nintendoswitch from as far back as March last year discussing the cracks on the casing near the power button and vents, with hundreds of comments.
Unlike some of us, you are one of the lucky ones.. You don't need Twitter to be the source, when this topic has been mentioned on other sites/forums way before Damien brought the topic up on Nintendolife.
I bought a replacement shell from these guys to have as a spare, decent quality for the price. https://www.replacebase.co.uk/nintendo-switch-parts/ £6.90 + postage for the replacement shell and another few quid if you need the screwdrivers. Site seems to be down at the moment though..
Every switch unit I've seen with the crack near the power button have all looked very similar, including the threads on reddit. To much of a coincidence to say they've been caused by rough handling.
From what I've read and heard, apart from Nintendo UK being d**** over it regarding warranty most other regions seem to replace the housing under warranty. I've had mine replaced under warranty here in Australia with no hassle.
Maybe not on your switch but a further 5 secs on google would have shown you that these cracks on the Switch housing are all to common and similar, to make it anything other than a manufacturing issue.
I've have the crack near the power button and and have seen first hand other Switch units with cracks in the same exact same way ! And i can assure you it isn't because of rough handling or dropping the unit.
Have one 65" plasma TV and another OLED TV in the house and that's not counting the kids TV's but prefer lying on the couch playing it in handheld with headphones on
Shame that Digital foundry did a video on this very subject and came to the conclusion that your best bet is MicroSD Storage size over max card speed. https://youtu.be/vbItTEmozxw
Even the basic SD card was still faster than a game cartridge.
So many butthurt comments lol I think it's bloody brilliant, it's like Arts & Crafts for those modern day kids that sit stuck to a Tablet or iPad all day! I've 2 kids and I'll be getting this day one, another chance to actually sit down and have fun.
The only thing i want from Nintendo is "The ability to stack multiple downloads in a basket to complete in one purchase"! I mean how hard can it be to let a customer pay for more than one game at a time....
@NickOfTime90 During the sales, especially with indie games. Not unusual to pick up several at a time and as @SLIGEACH_EIRE said would limit the credit card charges some people get on each purchase.
"We can all buy eShop games from Nintendo's websites and they automatically download to our systems (this was trialled in some countries in the past, but now it's global)"
I'm beat, but can anyone care to tell me how i can do this from www.nintendo.com.au ??
Also the eshop system really needs a proper shopping cart, so you can pay for multiple items in a single payment.
As others have mentioned they really need to add a proper shopping cart for multiple purchases, especially with the gold points rewards system so you can stack the cost.
Hopefully the new rank system reduces the COD mentality, nothing as frustrating as seeing 50% of your team standing around looking to improve their KDR when you are trying to cover the Splat Zones! Or maybe they'll finally release that the Tower in tower control doesn't actually move unless you get onto it or the Rainmaker doesn't move by itself
Gees you guys in North America are getting it rough with the Amiibos. Most stores i was in today had at least several of each on display, also heaps of the earlier releases with figures such as Little Mac, WFT, Marth, Ness etc available. This is in Australia btw.
@Usagi-san If Nintendo eShop participated in the IARC it wouldn't be a problem. Hopefully they get it sorted, as it is we just make a second NNID and set it to UK region
Captain Toad and the new Kirby are priced @ $59.95, heck Mario Party 10 With Mario Amiibo was $69 on release! So I'm hoping the instore price will drop on release so I'm not pre ordering!
This Kart looks good, doubt it'll make me any better at MK8 though face palm. Be interesting to find out what tracks are planned, if all retro or maybe a new track in the mix.
Don't know why everyone is so caught up on the 38k figure, considering that's only 2 days sales. If it sells like that over the next week it'll look a lot better. Either way i'm not fussed just can't wait to get hold of my copy!

Are they ever going to implement a shopping cart system ?, so i don't have to go through the tedious process of making single purchases each time.
