Re: Classic Controller Pro Heading West?

The_Ink_Pit_Ox

I like my Classic Controller. It gives me that nice, SNES feel. If the grips were removable, I might consider it. I think that vibration would require a complete software update, which would take a long time to do. They'd probably have to make yet another CC just to accomodate for the new feature, and I doubt the GC controller would be affected.

As I've said before, I like my lineup of controllers. Remote for NES/SMS, Classic Controller for SNES/Genesis, and GC controller for N64.

What is the SNES controller pictured? Mine has the words "Super Nintendo" engraved rather than painted black and the buttons are grey and purple rather than red, yellow, blue, and green.

@PJ: I prefer the remote for NES/SMS games, the Classic Controller for SNES/Genesis games, and the Gamecube controller for N64 games. They work fine, which is why I might skip this.

I wonder if this means rumble pak compatibility. I'd love to play Star Fox 64 the way it was meant to be played.

If this controller becomes hard to acquire, I'll just stick with the ones I already have. The remote suffices for an NES/SMS controller. The classic controller works as an SNES/Genesis controller. The Gamecube controller is fine as an N64 controller. However, this may end up just like the Shaft. You can find it, but only from third parties.

Which reminds me...if it does have rumble pak compatibility, will it also work on Gamecube games? I have Ocarina of Time for Gamecube, and would love to play it the way it was meant to be played.

This is so sweet! I get that true nostalgic feel while playing the old games. The remote is nice for NES, but actually using the NES controller will be awesome! The classic controller is nice for SNES, but actually using the SNES controller will bring back countless memories. Also, the N64 controller will have a cooler feel to it. I'm getting it!

Oh boy. Another game I've never heard of. Wish they'd get back to the major series.
STEPS TO MAKE UP FOR THIS MONOTONY
1. Mega Man 4-6
2. Bomberman
3. Columns SMS
4. Ecco SMS
5. Sonic & Knuckles
6. Kirby Super Star
7. Super Mario All-Stars
8. Super Mario Kart
9. Mega Man 7
10. Yoshi's Island

Nights: forgot about that one, good call
Virtua Fighter 2: I thought VF would suffice, but I suppose VF2 would be fine.

Never heard of the rest.

I really think the Saturn should be brought to the VC. They could charge 1200 a game for all I care. Just bring them!

The thing is I came in at the tail-end of the NES generation. I'm more of an SNES onward. That's why I can't relate to any of these 8-bit systems (save for the NES).

Since I had a Game Gear as a kid, the SMS games are a treat as they're essentially the same thing. A week ago I downloaded Sonic Chaos and it didn't disappoint. Just as awesome as it was then, and very nostalgic for me. I also downloaded Sonic the Hedgehog for the Genesis, and it's cool too. Sure I had Sonic Mega Collection, but it's more fun using the classic controller or remote than the clunky Gamecube controller.

Re: Ten Arcade Games We'd Like To See On The Virtual Console Arcade

The_Ink_Pit_Ox

I'm curious about the arcade Donkey Kong. How many levels does it have? The NES version gets boring after going through all three levels.

One thing that's going to limit the Virtual Console Arcade is the lack of an arcade-like joystick. Sure the classic controller and Gamecube controller have analog sticks, but it's not the same.

Ah the fun I had playing this on the Game Gear. I just got it, and it's so nostalgic. It works for an 8-bit Sonic. I also downloaded Sonic 1 for the Genesis.

Party On Dude, these games are already available in their NES form. As I've said, you can buy The Shaft to play them as if they were in arcades. However, if there are some elements missing from the NES version, you can hope for the arcade versions.
