Buy the Shaft for the Wii. It's designed with two buttons and a joystick to play your favorite arcade games like they were meant to be played (perfect for the NES Pac-Man port).
NES: Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Tale Spin SMS: Columns, Ecco the Dolphin, Castle of Illusion SNES: Goof Troop, Star Fox GENESIS: Gargoyles, Tecmo Super Hockey N64: Super Smash Bros. SATURN: Virtua Fighter 2
At least it's two next week. Here's hoping that this will continue. However, Nintendo seems to love the lesser systems. There must be more Turbografx than SNES.
I suppose they focus on the lesser titles because it's easier to get the rights for them. Also, the lesser systems like C64 and TG16 are easier to emulate (C64 especially). N64 is probably the hardest for them. I've been hoping for Saturn, but that might be too complex for them.
I've beaten SBCG4AP episode 1, so maybe I could try beating the next four episodes and by then hopefully something will have come out.
Why do I even check? Nowadays it's always one game, and one I could not care less about. Remember that the Christmas '08 release was one game as well, so they're just squeezing out the games one by one.
Arcade games are best left in the arcades. However, I heard that there's a 3rd-party controller out there known as the Shaft, which is designed to make it so that arcade games like this, Space Invaders, etc can be played as if they were in arcades.
I guess we won't see Mega Man 7 for awhile considering how long it's taken to get this far. Good thing I have the collection for GC. However, using the GC controller is awkward.
This game is cool, but get the GC version of you want the full experience. Majora's Mask is also on the GC if you can find the collector's edition. I have OOT/MQ.
I downloaded this to give Kirby another chance after Squeak Squad sucked. I love this game! It combines the fun of sidescrollers with a new 3D twist. The sidescrolling aspect is annoying sometimes, but it still looks cool nonetheless. It's the first Kirby game I ever liked, and convinced me to get Super Star Ultra (which I also like).
This game is good for exploring. It's not about beating it, but beating it well. It's very cute, like the whole series. The "2.5-D" thing implies that it has isometrics and Yoshi is in 3D, but the rest is 2D.
I tried this game as a kid, but didn't like it. Now I'm hooked, but wish that the game saved after every boss battle (like Assault does). It's cool nonetheless, but it really needs the vibration function. Will Nintendo please update the software so that we can have the rumble? Please.....?
I got Paper Mario TYD after being disappointed at the lack of traditional elements in Sunshine. I got hooked on TYD and eventually got Super Paper Mario and have since downloaded Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG. I even have M&L Partners In Time
This is the first time I've ever had this game other than the GBA enhancement. It rocks! SSB Brawl partially convinced me to download it. It is so addictive!
Considering they already have Star Fox 64 and Mario Kart 64, I'm surprised they don't don't already have the originals. The same goes for Super Mario RPG. How can they have the N64 versions and not the SNES versions? Another thing is that they have Kirby and Yoshi for the NES and N64, but not the SNES.
One thing I've always hoped for, but probably will never see is the Disney Afternoon series.
Duck Tales- NES Rescue Rangers- NES Darkwing Duck- NES Tale Spin- NES/Genesis Gargoyles- Genesis Goof Troop- SNES Bonkers- Genesis/SNES

Re: Final Fantasy Finally Coming to VC
Someone has created something called the Shaft, which is designed to play arcade ports (like the NES Pac-Man) the way they were meant to be played.
Re: Namco Announces Upcoming Arcade Games
Buy the Shaft for the Wii. It's designed with two buttons and a joystick to play your favorite arcade games like they were meant to be played (perfect for the NES Pac-Man port).
Re: Namco Announces Upcoming Arcade Games
Well, now we know where Nintendo has been all this time. Maybe now we'll get multiple games in one update.
Re: Final Fantasy Finally Coming to VC
Final Fantasy, while revolutionary, opened a can of worms for videogames. Because of its success, we have thousands of games just like it.
Re: SD Card Game Launching + Arcade Games Available on VC Now!
I'm buying an SD card now! This is much better! Now the card can act as a memory card instead of a storage bin.
I'm surprised they're doing arcade games now, when they already have Pac-Man, Space Invaders, etc.
Still, this is great! Now, would the 2GB be sufficient or would the 4GB one be recommended?
Re: USA VC Update: Bomberman '94 and Detana!! Twinbee
Here's to more multiple game weeks.
Re: Bomberman '94 & Detana!! Twinbee Coming To US Virtual Console On Monday
MY WISHLIST
NES: Darkwing Duck, Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Tale Spin
SMS: Columns, Ecco the Dolphin, Castle of Illusion
SNES: Goof Troop, Star Fox
GENESIS: Gargoyles, Tecmo Super Hockey
N64: Super Smash Bros.
SATURN: Virtua Fighter 2
Re: Bomberman '94 & Detana!! Twinbee Coming To US Virtual Console On Monday
@40: I certainly hope not. However, they could say "screw it" and release Golf for the NES instead. {sarcastically} Oh boy!
Re: Bomberman '94 & Detana!! Twinbee Coming To US Virtual Console On Monday
At least it's two next week. Here's hoping that this will continue. However, Nintendo seems to love the lesser systems. There must be more Turbografx than SNES.
Re: EU VC Update: Super Punch-Out!!
I guess this means it'll come out here Monday.
Re: Super Punch-Out!! Available in Europe Tonight
That can only mean one thing: that's all we'll get on Monday.
Re: 1000 and 3000 Nintendo Points Cards on Store Shelves Next Month
This is a good start. Now I can buy points cards for $10 instead of $20.
Re: USA VC Update: Summer Games II

Re: USA VC Update: Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars
@62: I've already downloaded Star Fox 64, but I'd like a Star Fox from each generation
@61: When they do get the FX emulators ready, they should do Yoshi's Island as well.
Re: Columns
I hope the SMS is released, because I love the music in that version.
Re: Donkey Kong Country
The multiplayer is awesome!
Re: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
I got this for GBA after enjoying FSA. I love it!
Re: Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
This is a good brother-sister game, because you can switch between Diddy and Dixie.
Re: Pokémon Puzzle League
I'm surprised they released this before Pokemon Stadium.
Re: Street Fighter II: The World Warrior
One SF2 is enough. Why'd they have to release more than one?
Re: Super Mario Bros. 2
I always loved this because it was different.
Re: Super Mario Bros. 3
I loved this game. The Mario Bros. Easter egg in multiplayer mode was awesome. It's a shame it didn't have saving (although the GBA version does).
Re: Super Mario Bros.
An absolute classic.
Re: Metroid
I've been curious about this series. It looks cool, and I might get this or Super Metroid.
Re: Mega Man 2
Why'd they have to release five sequels of Mega Man onto the NES? It only makes it longer to get to the SNES version.
Re: Galaga
Arcade games can be played with the 3rd-party accessory known as The Shaft, designed with a joystick and buttons for that classic arcade feel.
Re: Dig Dug
Arcade games are best left in the arcades. However, I heard that there's a 3rd-party controller out there known as the Shaft, which is designed to make it so that arcade games like this, Space Invaders, etc can be played as if they were in arcades.
Re: Super Mario World
I'm surprised this wasn't a launch title. It was packaged with the SNES, wasn't it?
Re: Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
I was disappointed when this was brought to the VC. Why have more than one Street Fighter? It's all the same game to me.
Re: Pac-Man
You can get Pac-Man almost anywhere. Why bother downloading it?
Re: Ice Hockey
I tried this game, and was disappointed that there weren't very many countries in it. I took it back. I'd rather play Tecmo Super Hockey.
Re: Mega Man 3
I guess we won't see Mega Man 7 for awhile considering how long it's taken to get this far. Good thing I have the collection for GC. However, using the GC controller is awkward.
Re: Mega Man
I'm tempted to get this. I have the GC collection, but using the GC controller is awkward.
Re: Kid Icarus
I tried the demo, but it feels too much like Kirby. They should create a new one using Pit's current form. That'd be sweet.
Re: Ice Climber
I tried the demo on SSBB, but didn't understand it.
Re: Super Mario 64
I can't figure out the wings, nor can I handle the red coins missions.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
This game is cool, but get the GC version of you want the full experience. Majora's Mask is also on the GC if you can find the collector's edition. I have OOT/MQ.
Re: Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
I downloaded this to give Kirby another chance after Squeak Squad sucked. I love this game! It combines the fun of sidescrollers with a new 3D twist. The sidescrolling aspect is annoying sometimes, but it still looks cool nonetheless. It's the first Kirby game I ever liked, and convinced me to get Super Star Ultra (which I also like).
Re: Mario Kart 64
I love it. I thas the nostalgic feel of SMK with the modern elements of MKDD. The characters look like they came out of SMRPG.
Re: Yoshi's Story
This game is good for exploring. It's not about beating it, but beating it well. It's very cute, like the whole series. The "2.5-D" thing implies that it has isometrics and Yoshi is in 3D, but the rest is 2D.
Re: Star Fox 64
I tried this game as a kid, but didn't like it. Now I'm hooked, but wish that the game saved after every boss battle (like Assault does). It's cool nonetheless, but it really needs the vibration function. Will Nintendo please update the software so that we can have the rumble? Please.....?
Re: Paper Mario
I got Paper Mario TYD after being disappointed at the lack of traditional elements in Sunshine. I got hooked on TYD and eventually got Super Paper Mario and have since downloaded Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG. I even have M&L Partners In Time
Re: Donkey Kong
SSB Brawl convinced me to download it. It is very addictive. Wish I'd bought the GBA version.
Re: Mario Bros.
This is the first time I've ever had this game other than the GBA enhancement. It rocks! SSB Brawl partially convinced me to download it. It is so addictive!
Re: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
I was ecstatic when this game came out. I have it downloaded and have gotten up to Booster Tower. Bowser is awesome!
Re: USA VC Update: Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars
Why do they keep adding games I've never heard of? When are we gonna get StarFox?
Re: US VC Releases - 5th May - Pokemon Puzzle League
Another boring update. Meh.
Duck Tales- NES
Rescue Rangers- NES
Darkwing Duck- NES
Tale Spin- NES/Genesis
Gargoyles- Genesis
Goof Troop- SNES
Bonkers- Genesis/SNES
