Nintendo doesn't hate money. They just don't have anything right now.
And, apparenty, WiiWare and DSiWare is where the money is.
VIRTUAL CONSOLE 1. spend a lot of money buying the rights to release third party games 2. spend a lot of money emulating the games so they can be released to the download service 3. hope that anyone over the age of twelve actually downloads the game
WIIWARE 1. spend some money to attract publishers to provide simple games for download 2. hope somebody downloads it
DSiWARE 1. spend some money to attract publishers to provide simple games and apps for download 2. hope somebody downloads it
Yeah, I can't wait til I get this. Once I do, I'll have a good eighteen days to play it before I have to fly to Texas to visit relatives and see New Orleans (I live in Texas). Will be there for just under two weeks.
@Kevin: Why would they cancel the VC? It makes them money, and they already have many good games. Just because they aren't releasing VC games regularly doesn't mean it's gone. It just means they've run out of games to squeeze in. Shut up and download Yoshi's Story.
Interesting to see them revive NG after two years. Hey, at least they're doing NG games again, so shut up about it. At least I don't download every other game that's released to WiiWare or the VC.
The reviewers believed this to feel more like SMW because of Yoshi. Really, this is even more like SMB3 because of the inventory window. Critics only play the first few levels.
Kids these days wouldn't even touch a Wii, because all they care about is playing M games with the latest graphics and no censorship. {sigh}
However, I'm a victim of WiiWare before VC. I downloaded Excite Bike World Rally because the original didn't look all that appealing. I've found it fun, and don't think I'd like the original as much.

Re: Mario Kart 7
I want the SMK course where the Monty Moles attach themselves to you.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th April 2011 (North America)
And this comes about a month or so after I bought the cartridge.
Re: Sega Names First Game Gear Games for 3DS Virtual Console
OMFG I WANT A 3DS NOW! 8-BIT COLUMNS FTW!
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Must have.
Re: Review: Yard Sale Hidden Treasures: Sunnyville (WiiWare)
I'm playing it on relaxed mode, and while the hidden object puzzes are still almost impossible, the side activities could be solved by a one-year-old.
Re: Nintendo Download: 4th October 2010 (North America)
Nothing for me this week.

Basically, WW and DSiW are easier to provide.
Re: Adventure on Lost Island: Hidden Object Game
I can't wait.
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd August 2010 (North America)
Boring week. Petz sounds like a Nintendogs ripoff.
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th July 2010 (North America)
I give up. Nintendo's exhausted its resources.
Re: Nintendo Download: 21st June 2010 (North America)
Well, so much for me wanting a points card so soon. Maybe by the second it'll come out, since I'll have the cash by then.
Re: Nintendo Download: 21st June 2010 (North America)
I've been getting my favorite old games used, since they obviously won't be coming to the VC any time soon.
It's the economy. Used goods rise in popularity as businesses make cutbacks.
Re: Rare Confirms Banjo possibility for the Virtual Console
I hope this is still on.

Re: E3 2010: Kirby's Epic Yarn
I want.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th June (Europe)
If Mario Tennis comes out, I'm getting it on the second (when I have the cash to get a points card).
Re: Nintendo Download: 14th June 2010 (North America)
What's Shantae?
Nothing for me.
Re: Nintendo Download: 7th June 2010 (North America)
What's Shantae?
Re: Nintendo Download: 31st May 2010 (North America)
Just saw some gameplay footage. Holy crap! That game is awesome!
Re: Nintendo Download: 31st May 2010 (North America)
Ben 10 sucks. I've also never heard of Wild Guns. Nuttin' for me.

Re: Nintendo Download: 24th May 2010 (North America)
@Winter: A Tron ripoff, you say? How much are they charging?
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th May 2010 (North America)
Long gap in VC = big game
Weekly releases = mediocre games
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th May 2010 (North America)
@EdEN: I got lost in the Cave about halfway through, and then gave up. I was playing the remake.
I also like the graphics of Dream Land 3 a lot better.
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th May 2010 (North America)
This release also completes the Kirby series.
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th May 2010 (North America)
I didn't like Super Star Ultra, and I already have Dream Land 3, which is probably far better.
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th May 2010 (North America)
To all "No VC?" whiners:
Shut up and download Yoshi's Story.
Re: Nintendo Download: 26 April 2010 (North America)

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th April 2010 (North America)
I just looked at some gameplay of the G&W remakes and I'm so getting it now. The remakes are based on SMW.
Re: Nintendo Download: 19th April 2010 (North America)
I saw G&W Gallery 4 at GameStop the other day for six bucks. I was getting Sonic Classics Collection, so I didn't have the cash for it.
Re: Sonic Classic Collection
Just got it, and it's really cool. I had a Game Gear with Sonic, Sonic 2, and Chaos, so this is definitely a plus for me.
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th April 2010 (Europe)
Maybe NOA will get Mega Man 4 now that Europe has it.
Re: Talking Point: The Virtual Console's PAL Problem
@buffalobob: Wouldn't Mexico count as NOA?
Re: Talking Point: The Virtual Console's PAL Problem
It's too bad that you're framerate is bad, but it won't be changing any time soon.
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd April 2010 (Europe)
Congrats Europe.
Re: Virtual Console Confirmed for DSiWare
I agree that this was a bit much. It's like pranking kids by telling them it's Christmas, only to have them find a fake tree with no presents.
Re: Virtual Console Confirmed for DSiWare
Good one. You had me going for awhile.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - April 2010
The first game on the MSX is also known as Nemesis 2.
Re: Nintendo Download: 15th March 2010 (North America)
Nothing for me.
Re: Nintendo Download: 16 & 17 March 2010 (Japan)
The Japanese have a silly sense of humor.
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th March 2010 (North America)
It's hard for Nintendo to find games to release to the VC, save for their many (often obscure) first-party titles.
If it wasn't so dang expensive, they'd be releasing the good titles left and right.
Kay?
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th March 2010 (North America)
VC #350 next week. Hope it's good (for everyone else, at least)
Re: Nintendo Download 1st March 2010 (North America)
Only 2 games left til 350. Still, I doubt that counts as a milestone in NOA's opinion.
Re: Nintendo Download 1st March 2010 (North America)
Neo Geo? Isn't this, like, the first release since 2008?

Re: Nintendo Download 15th February 2010 (North America)
Now that they're essentially done with the Genesis, they can concentrate on the other systems for awhile. Get back to NES, you lazy bums.
Re: Nintendo Download 15th February 2010 (North America)
Good update. If I had a DSi, I'd get Scrabble for sure. Now that S&K is out, I couldn't care less what Genesis games come out from now on.
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th February 2010 (North America)
Nuttin' for me, as usual.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Arcade Games on Virtual Console?
@BurningSpear: The NES version has the icicles.
