I hadn't heard of it until seeing this article — will give the demo a go on Steam/PC, but it looks very up my street, and its £9.99 price there is within my 'impulse buy' sweetspot.
Before the Switch, my last Nintendo console was a SNES, so for a platform I own, I am well up for rereleases, remasters or remakes of great games I missed.
There's a lot of moments in that trailer where the player-character is going to be super hard to see on a Switch's screen. I'm a huge fan of Limbo and Inside, so will likely give it a go, but it looks like parts of it might only be suitable for docked play.
Like Tantani points out — this is VERY likely a ploy to get their games in the eShop Top 30 charts for Christmas Day... but it's quite a clever one.
Used to see devs/publishers doing this on iOS, drastically trying to manipulate their chart position before the charts locked over the main Christmas days.
When you hold the Home button to bring up the brightness/volume overlay menu, for the in-game audio volume to not dip. It makes adjusting the volume level usually require a few instances of bringing up the overlay. Always irks me.
@DrJiggle Velocity 2X is a sequel to Velocity and its updated version Velocity Ultra. Everything you need to know from the previous game is recapped in the opening stages of 2X. The sequel that FuturLab wants to make is called / working-titled Velocity Supernova.
With any luck, Velocity 2X on Switch will do really well off the back of its excellent reviews, and hopefully we'll see Velocity Supernova sooner rather than never. ^_^
I'll be snapping it up today - it has a 20% discount for its first week, btw. I could probably blag a code (disclaimer: I worked on 2X for a short while), but I really want to see FuturLab make the sequel they've had in mind for years, so I'll happily... crikey... quadruple dip on this one.
@TommyTendo Velocity 2X predates Overwatch by a few years — V2X came out September 2014, and Overwatch launched May 2016. It's very possible Sombra's design was influenced by V2X, or just a case of 'great minds think alike'.
@Gold_Ranger That option's there for folks who want it, in the Deluxe Edition (which for PC was the base game & season pass), or via the Season Pass as a separate purchase. Key thing is that some people may not want the extra content, so surely it's best that people can choose whether they want to pay that little bit extra or not.
Bear in mind that the game came out in October 2017 for PC, with the 'Secret Weapons' DLC following in December 2017. In my opinion, it's cool of the devs to make the DLC available at release so it's on par with the PC release, versus making folks wait for it, and having anyone 'behind' compared to the PC version.
@youkoaoshi For the PC version, the DLC was originally released two months after launch. Offering the same DLC pack on the day of release brings it in line with what's available elsewhere.
@brandonbwii Was literally about to post the same. ^_^ Great minds, eh.
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon trailer (also posted by @brandonbwii), game footage starts at 1m30s after a lengthy intro from Koji Igarashi — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlDq0FQS15o&t
The 8-bit Bloodstained looks superb. I've only ever played a tiny amount of old-school Castlevania, so hopefully it'll be noob-friendly-enough in its design and difficulty curve for folks like me.
Also really into the GBA / hi-bit aesthetic on Gunvolt. The series has never really been on my radar, but from the teaser it looks like it'll be great for 2D action fans like me. I'll be keeping an eye out for both of these.
Constructive criticism is polite. It's respectful. It's supportive. It encourages people to be better, and so, comes from a good place.
Otherwise it's just criticism. And that, on its own and uninvited, isn't helpful, respectful or supportive, and certainly not constructive in the way you might hope.
Yep. There's some irony in that this opinion of mine wasn't requested either. But please note the polite wording, the encouraging tone, and how it's respectfully general to the conversation, rather than specific to any of its participants. That's constructive criticism.
@Paraka My thoughts exactly. There's a part of me that wouldn't be surprised if MM Legacy Collection 1 was on the cart, and you got a code for Legacy Collection 2 in the box.
I 100%-ed this on PC and adored almost every second. The high-bit art and animation is a joy throughout; the soundtrack is superb; the story is a perfect blend of whimsy and heartfelt underdog adventure that feels Ghibli-esque; and it's really fun and inventive within its parameters.
Like everyone else who's on the fence, I'll be watchlisting this, and might splash out on the physical release later in the year. It's an adventure well worth re-visiting, in my opinion.

Re: Remember That Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Clone That Killed A PS4? It's Coming To Switch
To be fair, if there was another game that looked and played like BotW, I'd be keen.
From looking up a gameplay trailer for this, the only thing it seems to share with BotW is its colour palette.
So yeah, I don't think this is for me.

@youkoaoshi No probs. ^_^ Full disclosure: I did some of the in-game writing, and it's made by two friends of mine, so I hope it does well for them.

Re: The Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 Are Headed To Switch On 22nd May
@Dom - Either your article or the accompanying image/video is wrong:
Article "The pack - which will also be available in a retail version with MMLC2 on a game card and a download code for MMLC"
Image says the other way round, LC on cart, with LC2 code.
EDIT - Cheers for the fix @Dom ! (The tag was in case you weren't aware, rather than any sort of unintended douche-baggery)
@Strix Just before @ecco6t9, @Paraka called it too.
