Re: Capcom Reiterates Stance On Further Disney Remastering

Squiggle55

I really don't think Capcom is very smart with their PR. Just keep your stupid mouths shut. They look for every angle possible to blame things on fans when they fail to deliver. Just don't say anything. If you want to make Chip N' Dale, make Chip N' Dale. But don't say we didn't make Chip N' Dale because the fans didn't do enough. Just shut up.

Re: Interview: Ripstone on Pure Chess, Knytt Underground and Joining the eShop

Squiggle55

I love Pure Chess on my Vita for the chess problems, and playing against the computer, and the tutorials. But the multiplayer is useless for me. Your opponent has to be on your friends list, and I never found anyone to finish a single game with the slow, grueling message system asynchronous gameplay.

It's good news that they have improved it to function better on Nintendo. I'd like to see that update put onto PSN whatever it is. And it'd be nice to have online lobbies to play against random opponents live.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Rules Out Story Sequences For Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS

Seriously I just don't like being lied to. Either they were dissatisfied with the story mode or they are rushing and there's no time to finish the mode. Don't lie. You don't spend time and money creating an entire story mode for a big blockbuster game and then decide not to release it to millions of gamers because a few thousand saw the scenes early. That comes nowhere close to passing the smell test.

Re: Just 3% of All Ubisoft's Sales Came From Wii U in Q2 2013

Squiggle55

@Dark_Link Which games are you referring to specifically? I'm a big fan of both Nintendo and Sony, so right now my third party choice comes down to trophies with psn or off-tv play with Wii U. And when the PS4 comes out I'll have off-tv play with my Vita. It sounds lame but I really think Nintendo made a big mistake not implementing any sort of achievement system. I'll always buy Nintendo's consoles and first party games, but once again they've unfortunately given people who own multiple consoles absolutely zero reason to choose Wii U for third party multiplatform games.

Re: Cloudberry Kingdom Rising on the Wii U eShop on 1st August

Squiggle55

I think I'll be taking advantage of the PS+ discount and trophies with this one. ( Just as I predicted would happen with multiplatform releases when Nintendo announced no achievements )

But seriously, trophies on psn vs off-tv play with Wii U makes me stop and think, but the discount pushes me towards Sony this time.

Re: Soapbox: Retail Games Cost Too Much To Download From The eShop

Squiggle55

Digital releases should be a little bit cheaper to begin with because of the reduced value. BUT I think the even more important part is that digital stores need to be A LOT better at lowering the price of a game in a timely manner. Someone needs to be in charge of monitoring the going rate of games and adjust the eshop accordingly. Otherwise, let's be honest, they're in the business of taking advantage of people that don't do their homework and don't realize they're being ripped off by buying an overpriced version of a game with less value to begin with since it's digital.

Re: Soapbox: Why Region Locking Is A Total Non-Issue

Squiggle55

Your arguments are very contradictory. 1)Why bother getting rid of region locks, hardly anyone does it. 2)We can't get rid of region locks, all of the lost sales will hurt Nintendo UK.

I have never imported a single game, but arguing in favor of region locking as if it benefits the consumer is just as asinine as the people who recently argued in favor of Microsoft blocking used games. Obviously region locking gives Nintendo a bit more control of its image globally and allows them to monitor how sales of various branches are doing, but this has nothing to do with the consumer, and the consumer is right to ask not to be treated like that.

Re: Nintendo Download: 4th July (North America)

Squiggle55

I have to believe that Nintendo's delay in releasing VC games has a little bit to do with making it compatible. But I also have to believe that a lot of it has to do with a business strategy trying to get as many sales for the "crap" games as possible. If they released everything in giant hunks surrounded by obviously better games many games would get almost no sales at all.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wii U Lineup Makes Commercial Sense

Squiggle55

It's funny, I have no doubt that the games they showed will be great. I will buy most of the first party ones. But Donkey Kong was the only surprise and I had my hopes up for BIG surprises. From that perspective the show was disappointing, but, like I said, the games we already knew about are of course going to be good.
