@BlueOcean uh. Theres also inconsistent frame issues sprinkled around BotW, but its still rated possibly the best of all time. Sure itd be very nice if it didnt happen, but it doesnt take away from the experience. Thats the take away in all of this
Sales slowing down after the first year isnt exactly a ground breaking prediction. Pretty typical of any hardware release. But if it surpasses 14 million in one year, its a huge success.
@Grogan theres a difference between an opinion and being a troll. @SLIGEACH_EIRE is a troll. Dude lives in these comment sections(literally), just to sht on every damn Switch game. Get a life kiddo and grow up.
@XCWarrior not neccessarily. There were many Nintendo fans who skipped the Wii U generation. Such as myself. Or many whos last Nintendo system was the N64, appealing to those now 30-40 year olds.
Any my point was- they are ok for the first year, simply from their own games.
@brutalpanda dude get it straight. No one is bashing the dev or the frame rate. But his response to the issue. Point being: if the game was on the level of Zelda then his comment would be true and acceptable. But it isnt. Yes theyre a small dev team. And thats acceptable as well. But pointing the finger at something else and when the solution is: buy something else. Youre really giving the middle finger to your potential and existing customers.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE if you care that much about power in gaming hardware, why are you even considering a home console? PS4 and XBox are already underpowered by whats in the GPU market the moment they are released.
And dont complain about pricing with PCs, thats like arguing you want to go fast and buy a Prius 😂
Im sure if anyone really wanted to get theirs fixed, they can by filing it with Nintendo and replace the entire console. Or through their retailer.
Nintendo is not denying the problem, they are denying its a widespread problem. If it was inheit in the design, nearly every one would have the problem, rather than not.
Get your Switch replaced and file it under first world problems. For the rest of you, relax its not the end of the world
@gatorboi352 if youre not impressed with the Switchs performance, its obvious you dont know how capable it is in the mobile market. Thats the whole point. And if your impressed by any console, its clear youve never played on PC
@Manjushri theres nothing wrong with flipping burgers as your daily job. But just pointing out things can be more complex than that. 😉 I dont care who youre being critical of, but simpletons are annoying to say the least.
@Manjushri you know things are a bit more complex than Nintendo having to tell you exactly how they run their business. But I know its difficult when all you have to ask is "would you like fries with that".
@ThanosReXXX theres a problem with all of this info though.
1. The information reported by Digital Foundry still is based on old information. Dated July 2016. Both their leak and the Chinese teardown
2. In the real world, it seems as though portable mode actually can render the graphics better. There are slight fps drops docked vs undocked as reported on Zelda
@Tarvaax uh people preordered because it offers AAA gaming on the go. No other platform comes close or even exists. Yes we all want to know what the hell is in it, but it matters little because its just as powerful as the X1, which is the most powerful GPU for its size thats currently available. Hey if its not for you, dont buy it; simple right? But no your brain cant fathom people would want this thing, and you go calling them stupid. Stop trolling and stop telling people what they should do. We know its hard to be lonely...
@Sakura the Foxconn leak even after this teardown has been accurate except for resolution and weight. Foxconn leak mentions chip is 16nm. The X1 A2 in the Shield TV is 20nm. Pascal is 16nm. Still could be a 16nm Maxwell variant. But its not the X1 A2 that Nintendo life is mentioning.
"seems to tie-in with a teardown of the 2017 'NVIDIA Shield TV'; the chips may not be the exact same (with the Switch chip described as 'custom' in the past) but they seem to share a status as second iterations of the Tegra X1 technology"
Every Nvidia chip has had 2nd iterations (A2) including the Keplar(K1). Nintendo life should know better than this
@Tarvaax this is already the case when developing for consoles.. devs have to compromise somewhere which is why PC games look better. But wasting resources? I mean theyre business looking to make money. If theres a lucrative market, as with current consoles, then those resources are hardly a "waste". Because you know, common sense.
