Re: Interview: Child of Light Team Tells Us About Storytelling, UbiArt And Stepping Back From Blockbusters

Rezalack

As of right now, this game will be a day one buy for me. The art for some reasons beckons a sense of Nostalgia.. probably because it reminds me somewhat of Legends of Mana. Ubisoft has made a lot of under appreciated games and I'm betting this will be one of them, sadly to say. With that said though, I'm sure this is going to be great. Can't wait to hear the release date.. hopefully it's sometime in January or March.

Re: Rune Factory Developer Neverland Closes Its Doors

Rezalack

Man. This sucks. I'll be getting Rune Factory 4 here shortly and even though I haven't played it yet.. I know it will be great, because it's Rune Factory. One of the best handheld series ever to grace the DS/3DS. It's a real shame to see these guys go under. I hope that Nintendo helps them out or they get a kickstarter rolling. I was really looking forward to seeing one come out on the Wii U, however unlikely that may have been. Here's hoping that this IP does not die and it lands in some caring hands, IE Atlus or Nintendo.

Re: Fresh Details Swing Into View for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

Rezalack

I love how Nintendo drip-feeds us new information on it's games. Every time they show us new clips it almost always builds my hype. I wanted this game from the start, but seeing this makes me want it even more. I never played DKR on Wii, but I liked it on the 3DS, Tropical Freeze looks so much better though. Looking forward to this.

Re: Nintendo Outlines Details of Third Wave of Pikmin 3 DLC

Rezalack

@Emblem Yup, I haven't bought any Pikmin DLC yet, but I was planning too. After seeing this though.. I really want it. The levels look really fun. I'm glad they added whole new areas, though at first, I expected them to add boss fights. Oh well, some day perhaps.

Re: Nintendo Direct Broadcast Confirmed for 13th November

Rezalack

I have a feeling we're not going to see any extensive information regarding the Wii U on a Nintendo Direct until January, MAYBE December. I'd like to be wrong, it just feels like they are building up anticipation to hopefully blow our minds with some announcements. It does feel dumb though that they aren't showing anything Wii U tomorrow. I think I'm in denial, because I want to believe they're saying it's a 3DS direct just to throw us off. -_-

Re: Bosses From Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light Shown Off as Extras in Bravely Default

Rezalack

Man, I can't wait for this game. That octopus reminds me of a boss from Final Fantasy 3 (American SNES version). Atleast I think it was from that game.. feels like a classic FF boss, regardless.

...and you don't have to use the potions. No point in complaining about it, you're not forced to buy the crap and it's not an online game so you're not going to be affected by other players who do choose to use it.

Re: Aonuma Keeps Returning To Zelda In The Hope Of Making A Perfect Game

Rezalack

@Genesaur After playing Corruption recently, I somewhat agree. That was a pretty damn addicting game and it made me want to play the first Prime over again pretty badly. Too bad I don't own it anymore. I never played Echos and I'm not willing to throw the cash out just yet.. especially for a used copy.

On topic, I think that the Wii U would be the perfect system to bring that "perfect" Zelda to life on. It has the right graphic capabilities and the perfect controller for it. I think the Wii U Zelda has the potential to be something really special.

Re: Super Mario 3D World Producer Says DLC is Unlikely To Happen

Rezalack

No DLC is fine with me but no online is a huge fail and was probably the biggest disappointment in gaming I've heard since the announcement of this game. You'd think it would be a given to have online play for this game, but nah. To all who say you don't care if it's there or don't want it, that's fine, that doesn't mean it wouldn't hurt to have it. I don't have many friends that would want to play Mario so at least being able to play online would have been great and possibly keeping me coming back after beating the game.. -_-

Re: Review: Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut (Wii U)

Rezalack

When this was released Miiverse was spammed with nothing but people complaining about the price. People, if you haven't played this and don't own the other systems, I don't see what the problem is. It's still $10 cheaper than the original copy that everyone paid $60 for and was incomplete. The reason it's only $30 on other systems is because they're trying to tempt those people who have already purchased it into buying it again. If they could get away with it, they'd give it full price for them, too. That just wouldn't fly.

That being said.. I want this game, but I will buy it when it's on sale.

Re: Nintendo Will Be "Careful" About The Artistic Direction Of Zelda In The Future

Rezalack

No matter what fans will get mad at any new art/graphic style of a Zelda game. Just look at Skyward Sword. I think the game looks like and it felt like classic (ALTTP) Zelda in a 3D world. A lot of people felt it was too bright and cartoony, though.. I didn't feel that way at all. It looked great.

On the other hand, when I was younger, I couldn't except the Wind Waker graphics.. 10 years later and now I love them. I'd like to see more games from Nintendo with that art-style, not necessarily Zelda though.

My point is.. there's no pleasing everyone. I thought ALBW looks strange, but it's grown on me and I can't wait to play it regardless of it's appearance.

Re: Feature: The Madness That Is Super Mario 3D World's Multiplayer Mode

Rezalack

It really sucks that we won't get online play with this game.. I had my hopes up pretty high when I saw that there was multiplayer and thought we'd have online for sure, but nope. I love Nintendo but they need to get with the program. There is nothing wrong with online play and everyone would be happy to have it.. it's definitely not impossible seeing as Miyamoto himself admitted they could have added it, just decided not to. Ghosts are cool and all, but.. come on. Get with the times. With that said.. I'll probably still buy this game by christmas, it does look fun regardless of the lack of online and I'm sure if the levels are chaotic enough speed-running will be fun as well.

Re: The Wonderful 101 Update Now Available To Download

Rezalack

@WanderingPB That moment when you thought you did amazing and you end up with bronze or even worse, consolation prize. Happens too often.. you think you did really good with combo's and don't even scratch the surface. That can be irritating sometimes, but that's all part of the challenge. This game has me really looking forward to Bayonetta 2 now, I liked the original, but I never got into like I did Wonderful 101. Platinum has my attention now.

Re: The Wonderful 101 Update Now Available To Download

Rezalack

@ricklongo I'm not sure you can do that until you beat the game first, well, on normal anyway. After that there is an option at the title screen after you choose the file that you play on. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall ever being able to look at all the heroes until after I beat it (on Normal).

Re: The Wonderful 101 Update Now Available To Download

Rezalack

This is my GOTY so far. The fighting mechanics are so refreshing and deep compared to most beat-em-ups that come out. It feels like you can discover a new tactic all the time and there is always something to learn. I'm a little more than half way through 101% Hard mode and loving every minute.. Great game.

Re: Bravely Default To Feature Optional Special Attack Abilities as Microtransactions

Rezalack

Still buying this game, probably day one. I don't see what the hubbub is about, I mean it's not like you're forced to buy the crap. I don't plan on ever using this SP idea anyway, as I like a challenge.. the fact that they need to add this tells me that the game will be pretty hard and that is good news to me. I get that this is a lame business model, but I'm sure someone will be happy it exists to help them.

Re: Review: Rune Factory 4 (3DS)

Rezalack

Excellent review. I love every game of the series that I've played (1, 2, and Frontier..except for those damn runies.) and I have been looking forward to this game since I heard of it's release in Japan last year. I'm not sure why I haven't ordered this yet. Even before reading this review I knew it was going to be great, this just makes me want it that much more.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Confirms Minor Changes to A Link Between Worlds to Accommodate 2DS

Rezalack

I really don't think they could ever make a game that was meant to be fully 3D that couldn't be played in 2D. It just doesn't seem possible with this 3D system, it doesn't feel that deep to me. Some games it looks great, Luigi's Mansion for example, but in most games, it just feels sub-par. Even in SM3DL I didn't feel it looked that much better than 2D, in fact, I didn't find any areas even needed it as I heard it was supposed too. It's all a matter of personal taste, be glad that Nintendo is bringing us these great hand-helds at all.

Re: Aonuma: Information About Majora's Mask Can Be Found By Playing A Link Between Worlds

Rezalack

A lot more people here saying they don't care than I thought.. I never knew people disliked Majora's Mask that much until I found this site, heh. That being said.. it's my favorite Zelda title and I would definitely pick it up no matter what system it's on. It just has so much character and feel to it, I didn't get that from OoT. I was excited to see the Majora's Mask on the shop wall in A Link Between Worlds.. hopefully Aonuma does have some really well thought-out hints in this, perhaps even setting us up for some sort of Majora's Mask sequel or prequel. That would be awesome.

Re: Pokemon X & Y Designer: Creature-Making Isn’t Easy

Rezalack

There are a lot of corny pokemon, but they all tend to fit the pokemon experience so I've never really been bothered by any of them. I can't imagine how hard it must be to come up with 150 new pokemon within a certain amount of time and have half as them turn out to be as good as they are. I used to draw a lot and I tend to only draw stuff that I make up myself, therefore, I drew a ton of crap.. I have a few things that I like though. A friend and I spent a lot of time as kids drawing copies of Pokemon and Digimon, those were good times.

Re: Chocobo Racing 3D Fails To Reach The Finishing Line

Rezalack

Chocobo Racing for the playstation was actually pretty fun. It was surprisingly good and some stages were pretty intense. The characters were also great, too, especially if you were a fan of Chocobo's Dungeon 2 for PS. Oh well. Odds are this wouldn't have been the same anyway. Those screenshots look pretty strange for a racing game.

Re: New 3DS Harvest Moon Game Coming To Japan Early Next Year

Rezalack

I'm waiting for a Harvest Moon that will hold my interest and captivate me like the N64 title and Back to Nature. I've tried a good handful of them since then and I've yet to get passed the first winter in any I've tried. Don't get me wrong, I really liked Tale of Two Towns and A New Beginning, for some reason I just get burned out on them kind of quick.. I'd like to see Natsume bring a Harvest Moon to Wii U, but right now I don't see that happening.
