Re: Eiji Aonuma States Desire to Avoid the Limitations of Tradition in The Legend of Zelda Franchise

Rezalack

Really looking forward to the 3DS title. It'll be a nice change of pace, hopefully. Going into a Zelda world without really having a set path right off the bat might be a good thing. It'll definitely remind me of the first time I played the original Zelda for NES.

As far as changing the Zelda series up a bit, I've had a few ideas.. a futuristic zelda world would be something way different for the IP.. or even a game where you might play as Zelda at some point. I really liked Spirit Tracks because having her as somewhat of a team-mate was really cool, even though you weren't playing as her.. just a golem. There's a lot they could do with the series and obviously they know what to do to insure that the franchise doesn't become stagnant.

@ShikabaneHime13 Same, I'm actually downloading the updates and about to start the Zelda download.. I have a slow connection so I need to get that going and THEN I'll start doing chores around the house. I can't wait to play this game, I missed the Gamecube version so I'm really looking forward to this.

Re: Nintendo Tested Two Other Zelda Titles in HD on the Wii U

Rezalack

@element187 When I was stating I'd rather see a Majora's Mask remake I wasn't talking about them just bringing it to 1080p. I was suggesting they flat out revamp the whole thing like they did with that Wii U Demo a couple years ago where they showed Link with the Deku Mask. I know it will probably never happen, I'm just saying I'd MUCH rather see that than a re-release of a game that I bought new in the last 5 years.

Re: Nintendo Tested Two Other Zelda Titles in HD on the Wii U

Rezalack

I really hope they stray from releasing HD remakes of these for now. I liked them both, SS more, but still. They haven't even been out that long.. we don't need them especially when you can play them on your Wii U if you wanted to anyway.

I'd much rather see them put a Majora's Mask remake on the Wii U, or perhaps even look into one of the older classic Zelda games like "A Link to the Past" and bring that into a HD 3D world. That would be cool.

Now.. on the subject of a HD remake. Bring Eternal Darkness to Wii U.

@ErnisDy So what I got from this is by friends you mean your Mom and she's quite verbally abusive. Got ya. I can see why turn based games are not as popular, especially amongst todays crowd.. but lets face it, how many more people do you think would be interested if this game looked exactly the same just had a more immersive combat system? I don't think it would be that much of a difference.

@Gregor Ahh yeah, I guess you're right. In some games it becomes tedious very quickly to the point where you just want to run from every battle.. I just finished Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and that game does have some of the funnest fights ever when it comes to turned base games. It just kind of feels like once you take out the turned base aspect of an RPG it kind of loses the whole RPG feel, to a certain extent. I'm fine with them changing it as long as they come up with something great. Not just change for the sake of change.

Re: Peter Molyneux Reveals His Favourite Zelda Title Of All Time

@Chriiis It really hurts me that I can't have Minish Cap on my 3DS. I will be getting a Wii here shortly though.. and hopefully I'll have access to it through that at some point. Minish Cap is criminally under-rated and somewhat hated I think to a certain extent. I don't see why. It's just one of the most colorful and.. unique zelda games that there are. I mean, it's a simple concept, but it just felt so cool shrinking down and fighting regular monsters as bosses. I loved it. I haven't played it in years and recently I've had a bad urge to play it.. I don't own my GBA or that game anymore unfortunately and I refuse to play a rom.. it's just not the same on PC.

Re: Peter Molyneux Reveals His Favourite Zelda Title Of All Time

Rezalack

I just finished Twilight Princess for the first time the other day and I have to say I hated it for the first 1/4 of the game and had to force myself to play it. After playing Skyward Sword first the controls were just awful and unresponsive for me. Once I got used to them though, the game got better and I really started liking it towards the end. Midna is probably my favorite Zelda character to date and the ending of the game is definitely the saddest and possibly the best of all the Zelda games. I have kind of a love hate feeling for TP.

My favorite Zelda game is probably Majora's Mask. It's hard to choose though.. I really liked Skyward Sword and that may take it's place. Minish Cap is up there, too. That's one Zelda game that I always want to go back and play again over all the others.

Re: Nintendo and Capcom to Announce Upcoming Collaboration

@Ryno That would be Totally Rad... I'm sorry. Had some good times with that game. I'm surprised anyway else is even aware of it's existence. (Totally Rad that is.) A Breath of Fire for the Wii U would be a must buy for me.

I have a slight feeling that Mega Man is on the table for a Nintendo release.. it feels like SSB is hinting towards that. The fact that Nintendo and Capcom have been so buddy buddy makes it feel like even more of a possibility. It just feels right and it would bring a lot of attention to both companies..

Re: Review: Jet Force Gemini (Nintendo 64)

Rezalack

This game is definitely a 9. It's a very thoroughly made and complete game. I'm glad to see a review of it though, regardless of the score. It's hard to compare to other rare games but personally, I had more fun with this than I did DK64 and Banjo-Kazooie. That's juist me though, I love the alien sci-fi part of this and it's a very good original IP. It's a shame Nintendo can't be part of a new one.

Now I feel the urge to break out the N64 and play.. it actually one of the few N64 games that I still own.

Re: Review: SteamWorld Dig (3DS eShop)

Rezalack

I bought this game day of release and I'd probably give it a 7.5 - 8.0. It's a definitely a fun game with a perfect blend of difficulty. My first playthrough took 6 hours, doing a speed run now. It reminds me of a mix between Metroid and Terraria (the mining aspect). One thing I found disappointing was a lack of bosses.. but that really shouldn't take away from the game itself. It was great and there were actually some levels that took a while to figure out.

Re: Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Download Needs 6,789 of Your 3DS Blocks

Rezalack

Already pre-ordered this, I prefer physical copy anyway. Only game I've ever bought digitally, aside from VC, is Animal Crossing. It just makes it that much easier to switch between games.

Excited to get this.. haven't played this series since the GBA Superstar Saga, hopefully this is as good as I remember that one being.

Re: Pokémon X & Y Trailer Shows Off New Gym Leader and Battles

Rezalack

Just preordered this today.. not sure if it's OK to post this here, but there is a preorder sale on NewEgg right now with a promo code.

On another note. Has anyone noticed or seen any different battle backgrounds? So far I'm only seeing grass and trees.. was hoping there would be different scenery for gyms and what not.

Re: Nintendo Download: 13th June (North America)

Shining Force for me thank you very much. Was stoked to hear this when it was announced, especially since I never knew this one existed in the first place. Definitely my favorite strategy/rpg series out there. I might check out Might Switch Force as well.. we'll see.

Re: Nintendo Reveal Why Its 3D Mario Title Isn't Super Mario Galaxy 3

Rezalack

I wasn't a huge fan of 3D Land, although I did like it. This looks like a huge improvement and the fact that it has some features reminiscent of SMB2 for NES just makes it that much more appealing to me. The boss fight with the snake things looks cool, too. I don't have a Wii U yet but odds are I'll be getting this game at some point. I'm sure it'll shape up quite nice despite the disappointment I felt when I saw a 3D Land sequel.

Re: Eiji Aonuma Shares Wind Waker HD Thoughts

Rezalack

This is one of the reasons I want a Wii U. I never played it when it was originally released so it's pretty much a whole new game for me. I plan on getting a Wii U this holiday season hopefully at a decent price so I can pick up this and Donkey Kong as well.

Re: Big Bass Arcade: No Limit Reeling in the 3DS eShop on 13th June

Rezalack

As a person who loves fishing, it's hard to find a good fishing game. The last one I can recall was Sega Marine Fishing for the Sega Dreamcast, mainly because there was a wide variety of fish you can catch and cool scenery/locations. Reel fishing had a few good games too. Games where you can only catch Bass are so.. how do I put this? Lame. So this is just meh to me. Now's the time for a decent fishing game to come onto the scene and I think that the Wii U's controller might be perfect for it.

How about a new "Legend of the River King" Natsume?

Re: Monster Hunter Details Revealed During Capcom Event

God I hope this has good online play. I really wanted to play 3 Ultimate because of how great it looked but I couldn't bring myself to buy it knowing it was wifi only. I have no friends who have 3DS so yeah.. no multiplayer. Now, if this has good multiplayer online, I'm in.

Re: Natsume's Hometown Story Will Be Playable at E3

Rezalack

I'm just gonna be optimistic about this game. As a huge fan of Harvest Moon and Rune Factory I had some high hopes for this game, but.. from what I've seen in previous trailers, it hasn't looked very good. Mainly because it looked like a bad iOS game. The screenshot showing here looks like a bit of an improvement though. I'm still looking forward to seeing this and glad they are showing it at E3.
