Hmm, cool. Ann Arbor has one.. looks like I may check these out after all, even if I have to stand back and watch some kid play it. Cool to see it anyway. Leave it to Nintendo to beat the other companies to the punch. Expect to see Xbox/PS4 to copy this method in the future.
This is hardly anything to go off. According to the way Retro described their new game saying that it has scans and is first person, well, that sounds like Metroid to me. I wouldn't mind a new IP though, in fact, I'd welcome it. I just have a feeling this is going to be Metroid. I imagine the rumors this guy is hearing is from random comments on the internet.
The first Viva Pinata was their only decent game since the old N64 days. I'll be jealous if they release some mind blowing Conker or Perfect Dark footage, which I highly doubt. It's a shame that Rare isn't still with Nintendo.
This is tempting.. but I really want the black console and bigger storage. I could care less about Nintendoland though. I'm probably just going to wait for the next bundle, hopefully it's a different color system than white.
For some reason when he said Sonic has a lot of friends, I got the idea that he was refering to Mario and Sega's relationship with Nintendo. Maybe Sonic will somehow run into Mario in this lost world.
I'm glad to see that Ubisoft has faith in Wii U, not a condescending bunch of donkeyhats like some other companies.. Hopefully they'll release Rainbow 6: Patriots for Wii U, because frankly, that looks amazing. I'll probably pick up Watch_Dogs and I will most definitely pick up Rayman Legends, considering Origins was one of the funnest multiplayer experiences I've had since n64.
Not really fond on the idea of any non-Mario characters in Mario Kart, but I'm glad Nintendo and Sega are getting along. Brings hope to further exclusive IP's, maybe of older games. I want a new Shenmue, Shining Force, Seaman, Panzer Dragoon, and why not reboot the Beyond Oasis series... am I the only one who liked those games..?
My favorite Mario game by a long shot. I just love the boss fights and the enemies in it so much.. it's definitely more challenging than a lot of the other Mario titles as well. Wish they'd make a sequel to this one, somehow.
@Late Yup, Shining Force all the way. SF 1, 2, and 3 are some of the most amazing games I've ever played. I never knew this one even existed so this was easily the most surprising thing about this ND for me. Can't wait.
Never knew there was a Shining Force for the Game Gear.. considering Shining Force 1&2 are up there with my favorite retro games of all time, this is exciting news. I can't wait to buy this when it hits the eShop.
I think this Direct was just right, as I wasn't really expecting any big announcements or previews for that matter. They're saving the best stuff for E3 and that's the way it should be. This is just a way to build more anticipation. Can't wait for next month.
@LzQuacker You weren't aware? Apples and Oranges are mortal enemies!
@Damo To us console users, I think that would only start seriously concerning people if big names in development like Nintendo, Ubisoft, and Konami for example, started their primary focus on iOS. Right now it just seems to me that we may lose some indie devs, but honestly, a lot of the indie dev games are so bad they aren't even worth having. Not to say that there aren't any good ones though. I'll be worried when I hear big name companies who make my favorite games resorting to iOS only.
@arrmixer I agree man, if the new Wii U Mario was anything like this one as far as boss models and different characters to play as, that would be awesome. There are a whole bunch of enemies you never see again they could use in a new Mario game from this game.. untapped potential here. Oh well.
Actually, this is my favorite Mario from the NES/SNES era, and possibly further. I don't understand why not many people seem to like it. Everybody I know IRL loves this game as well.
When I saw the picture and "North America eShop" I jumped because I was hoping they'd be releasing it on the 3DS eShop, since you know.. it's a NES game, but whatever. Disappointment ensues. -_-
I don't see why Nintendo doesn't release SNES games in eShop.. is it the hardware or what? I know some NES games (Mega Man for example) have some frame rate issues when there is intense action.. but come on. 3DS should be perfectly capable of playing SNES and GBA games. I hope they atleast release LttP for 3DS before the sequel comes out. It's only right.. also a perfect time for people who have never played it before.
@Majin-Naruto Yeah, back then I was a little different and for some reason the graphics just didn't appeal to me or make me want to play it at all, it was an instant turn off and I probably would have had to force myself to play and that's no fun. Times have changed though and I'm really looking forward to playing it. I don't have my gamecube anymore, nor do I want to buy a copy of Wind Waker GC just to play the classic version. Especially since the HD version is coming out and that's one of my main motivators to pick up the Wii U.
Back when it was released, I had no interest in the game even though I had a gamecube. The graphics just rubbed me the wrong way and turned me off to the game, unfortunately. So I have never played it, but now it gives me just another reason to buy the Wii U and I'm really looking forward to playing it. I actually kind of like the graphics now after playing Spirit Tracks and of course it's Zelda, so it odds are it's a great game.
A lot of people don't seem to realize that Nintendo will still be at E3, just not doing a conference.. it doesn't mean they won't be announcing and showing off new products. I personally could care less about a big conference because after watching the last Nintendo Direct, I just want to see more from it. This is a good thing.
Nintendo would be over-shadowed by the other two companies announcing and showing off their new consoles anyway. Let those two fight it out while Nintendo takes it to a whole new way of doing things.
This sounds like it could be alright, I definitely like the idea. As long as it doesn't take away from the main single player campaign and it is actually fun. Only real complaint from people whining about multiplayer is that it could hurt single player, which is a fair complaint.
A good example of a game with a great single player and a pretty fun but small multiplayer is Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. I really didn't expect anything from it and when I played it, I enjoyed it quite thoroughly. If Batman turns out anything like that quality wise, I'll be happy. I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of multiplayer on the 3DS title as well, as long as it doesn't hurt the single player.

Re: Square Enix Will Be Livestreaming From The E3 Showfloor
I'd like to see a new Final Fantasy Tactics for 3DS. Is that too much to ask for? I wouldn't mind a new Vagrant Story either while I'm at it.
Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Thirteen
I'll be playing Donkey Kong Returns 3DS and Ocarina of Time.

They need give us a release here in NA.. these type of games always have my attention. It'd be a day 1 buy for me.
