Re: Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Reportedly Sells Less Than 2000 Copies in Debut Week

Relias

@Bulby I don't think it's so much that you can't do a remake.. (I see nothing wrong with them) I think it's what you choose to remake...

Seriously.. Skies of Arcadia in HD(I know Gamecube got a remake) Would absolutely rock.. and would be a day one purchase... as well it should be...

the same could be said for others too.. such as Shining the Holy Ark in HD... Panzer Dragoon Saga in HD.. I mean there is a lot of games I would be freaking out if they got a proper HD upgrade on the Wii U.. that being said.. I do not deny we need new IP's.. but I think if companies would pick and choose the right games to upgrade to HD... they would have a lot of top sellers..(Not to mention we would be getting some darn good games.. )

Re: Disney Infinity Has Reportedly Cost "Well Over $100 million" to Produce

Relias

@Zombie_Barioth Simple Answer.. not to many.. unless they put it on a more limited scale(Think Pokemon Rumble U which has what.. 18 figures but even at that cost's no more than 20.00 that is a huge difference.. especially since the figures are optional.. and this.. will be required) They woud be better off coming up with Online CCG and making the prices equal to others or less as they wish..

Re: Disney Infinity Has Reportedly Cost "Well Over $100 million" to Produce

Relias

Oh boy.. and people wonder why there is going to be a second gaming crash.. (It's coming.. all the elements are there.. the economy is struggling.. big companies buy little companies.. and force them to rush out their releases with bad ideas.. gaming companies rushing to get things out.. and the general fact that various tech is taking gaming dollars.. ) Companies need to start limiting their budgets.. and releases.. or need to start making small E Shop stuff to make up the difference.. (Which may or may not cut it).. They need to learn the hard lesson Hollywood did... otherwise.. there will be not just a crash but a complete destruction of gaming as we know it today.. (Though yeah you will still have your Tower Defense etc.. you'll just have to say bye bye to things like Splinter Cell etc.. with beautiful fully rendered 3D worlds.. and what not)

Back to the topic.. well.. generally speaking.. advertising... the toy line... plus every movie license.. it took to make this game.. along with all the other payment's required.. not surprised.. the games saving graces will be...

1. It's Disney and based off their movies.. (The best of them)

2. It's going to launch on a lot of different platforms.. (Which will equal out the costs.. between the figures.. and the various platforms)

Re: Thriving 3DS Remains the Best Selling Video Game Platform for July in the US

Relias

It seems.. Nintendo has all 4 ranges from the Best.. to the Good.. The Bad.. and The Ugly these days.. Well done 3DS.. oh and Subie.. the 3DS is one of the few systems.. (Even the XL version) That I would say is well worth the current asking price.. so going 200.00 for all the games and everything it has to offer.. it's a steal.. actually.. after all what is 200 bucks or whatever.. for a system that will probably get well over 1000 hours plus of game time.on.. (And the bigger screens help) it is well worth it.. now if we were talking Neo Geo prices.. ole lordy.. it would actually take more.. to justify that purchase..

Re: GameStop Accused of Re-Printing Xenoblade Chronicles, Then Selling as "Used" For $90

Relias

@Subie98 No.. and that may have been my fault.. I just made sure not to walk back in.. needless to say I was upset and licking some wounds... (Like I said.. everything was so good there before and I loved my Game Shop..so yeah it was my fault.. I got to emotional.. geez.. which I guess is stupid.. it's just that I had so many good memories in there.. and it was just really upsetiing) so anyway.. just did not go back.. well not to buy anything anyway... from what I understand when I am in there they have gotten a little better( at least they are no longer selling used as new.. or at least that is what my friends and cousin say).. but they still do the Zelda thing every once in a while.. but sometimes with other games now.. (They did it.. with Fire Emblem from my understanding from a cousin.. and she unlike me.. is/did go up to the very top.. I have not heard anything from her on it... (But needless to say.. she was okay with whatever the result was that she still shops there.. ) I just had to many things on my mind lately to ask.. (It's tough sometimes being a cornerstone to a huge family.. sometimes.. the only time I get a breather is when I am here.. ) Anyway.. I will have to ask her what the results were later..

Re: GameStop Accused of Re-Printing Xenoblade Chronicles, Then Selling as "Used" For $90

Relias

@Subie98 I know... and I did actually.. ironically.. especially on the Zelda thing.. I was told the exact same thing... and like I said.. I would have liked to believe them.. I just couldn't.. I mean how much extra was it?? And why make Zelda fans only pay for it?? and it was really sad for me... because before they were babbages software etc.. (I believe) and they had been there for quite sometime.. I had enjoyed shopping there.. since I moved there.. which was the PS era.. and N64... I bought all my games from there.. never had a problem.. but all of a sudden.. they just seemed to change.. when the new systems came out.. and they went to Gamestop... and I really don't know why... there was a few changes in the crew working there... but not so much.. that I would have thought to have that kind of experience.. I did not know if it was a companies policies.. or poor.. business ownership... or just a willingness.. to pull one over on the customer.. but they were never like that before.. I was very upset.. actually it depresses me to think about it.. I really loved my game shop..

Re: GameStop Accused of Re-Printing Xenoblade Chronicles, Then Selling as "Used" For $90

Relias

@Araknie I use Vintage Stock for used games any more.. they usually have better prices on a lot of their games.. used.. if I go out at all.. and there really are not enough.. small companies.. or even people that want to start small companies now and days for various reasons.. not all of it is Gamestop's fault.. (I still do not like them..but just saying) It's to hard.. if you open a rental service.. you have to compete with RB and several places.. if you do new games.. your competing with everyone from Wal Mart all the way to Best Buy and Gamestop.. and if you do a retro shop then your competing with Vintage Stock and just about every flea market.. Pawn Shop, heck a lot of people don't even walk into places physically to do their retro game shopping.. it's easier on Ebay etc..

Re: GameStop Accused of Re-Printing Xenoblade Chronicles, Then Selling as "Used" For $90

Relias

Well I am not sure what to say.. I don't think Gamestop can actually.. print or reprint a game... (Would that not be in league with piracy??) but if it's true that really flips my tails... There is something wrong with Gamestop... I did not like them.. (especially.. when the main clerk at my local Gamestop came out being a XBOX owner and made fun of everyone who bought games on other systems) the reason was they were selling copies of games that were used.. (Like New a lot of times grant you.. but still) as brand new games... (I remember they tried to do this to me.. I went back in there and got a refund.. I was so mad.. I refused another copy of the game) and then there was the time they charged me 5 dollars more for Zelda the Minish Cap... they said it was to help with the rent.. and they were doing it with all their games... funny thing was.. I watched them ring up everyone else.. and all the other games rang up exactly the price they were supposed to.. it was just me and two others that got Zelda they did this too.. I have not went to a Gamestop since.. ... sides I find better deals now online anyway..

Re: Satoru Iwata Cites Poor Basic Wii U Sales To Rule Out Price Cut Benefits

Relias

Dear Iwata...

If not for the fact that I happen to have a HDD lying around not being used.. and I don't Dload a lot off the Eshop... (Really DK is the only one I have.. and D&D if it ever comes out.. along with Rumble U are the only ones I am looking at right now.. and since you have no DLC for the games that I own.. anywho back to topic)

I would not have bothered with the Basic edition of the system.. at 299.99 (And sometimes actually more believe it or not in America) It's just not that great of a deal.. as a Matter of fact.. I would say dump Nintendo Land.. and mark the 32GB edition to 299.99 and then release a 64GB version at the 349.00 price range . you will probably find out that the one with more memory will sell better.. despite the 50 dollar price difference.. the fact of the matter is.. for a mere 50 bucks.. you get 4 times the memory.. and the fact that your digital sales have been going up.. that too should send you a message Iwata... people want more memory... (And maybe a nice White edition ) The 50 dollar difference does not make a difference in peoples buying habits... something tells me you might be in for a hard lesson when PS4 comes out.. with your way of thinking..

Sincerely,

Re: Talking Point: The Wonderful 101 Direct and Demo Set the Standard for Wii U Marketing

Relias

I agree.. though I wish.. they would have more Demos available.. I would like to try a Pikmen 3 Demo.. since I have never played Pikmen before.. and a lot of times in situations such as that the Demo's could actually sell the game for me.. for instance.. I had never played Lego Batman.. or any Lego game.. before a demo on my 3DS.. I then went out and bought the game for 3DS.. and since I heard there was differences between the portable.. and the console versions of Lego Batman 2.. went on to buy it on Wii U... (Which is a awesome game in it's own right)... The same with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.. never played a MH before.. tried the Demo on 3DS.. and thought it was okay.. but not must buy.. played the Demo on Wii U.. and it became a must have title I bought.. so technically.. Demos work.. but the Direct works to get you hyped and want to try the Demo in the first place.. But I really believe they also need TV ads.. and put Demo Available on the end of it to really get it out to the public.. because clearly a Youtube channel... various websites.. and the Nintendo owners.. is not working.. (Or not working well enough)

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D Knocked Off The Top Spot in Japanese Sales Charts

@Flux_you LOL.. Oh my someone completed a game.. and didn't like it.. so your argument of course has to be I did not play through the game.. well I did.. my opinion is very much based off a full play through.. I had people play through my favorite games.. ones that I thought were classic.. and did not like it.. I never came back with such a weak argument.. Just because it wins GOTY does not mean everyone has to fall in line and love it.. or even like it.. it's not perfect.. and I don't think it's as good as everyone says.. that is a opinion.. and I have as much of a right to it.. as you do to love it..

Re: Iwata: No Chance Of Nintendo's "Precious Resources" Coming To Other Platforms

Relias

@DaveGX No.. it's different when you throw characters into a well done.. and most generally epic release of a series.. that is high quality.. it's another when people ask you to hand out ports of your characters in full games that may or may not go over well.. and may determine.. your sales for a entire generation.. or longer.. after all if Mario hit smart phone and sucked.. people may use that as a excuse to not buy another Mario Game.. Snake showing up in a game that is pure quality.. is another thing entirely..

Re: Wii U Hardware Still Being Sold At A Loss

Relias

Actually a good counter for this is Reggie saying if they sold one piece of software.. it would be profitable.. and since most Wii U owners have at least Mario Bros U.. Or Game and Warrior.. or maybe now Pikmen 3 and Luigi Expansion.. all of which I think they bought or will buy.. the Wii U is not going at a cost for Nintendo.. and that is not including the one fourth they get off every licensed piece of software sold..

Re: Iwata: No Chance Of Nintendo's "Precious Resources" Coming To Other Platforms

Relias

Halo is very generic.. actually most FPS id this day and age.. with that being out of the way.. No.. I remember Sega going to other platforms.. Sega was never the same.. when Rare went to Microsoft they ruined a lot of their credibility.. and EA going to Smartphones etc.. was a bad choice.. since a lot of people use Smartphones.. to judge what their consoles will be like or should be like.. the same goes with the PC.. so no Nintendo should never make games on either format.. unless it translates well to their hardware.. cause otherwise.. they will not go well.. (AKA the smartphone or whatever play's exactly like the console..)

We hope your bodies are ready.. for a New Smash Bros.. the week before Christmas... but don't worry.. as far as Next year goes.. we are working on F-Zero, Custom Robo, Star Fox, and a New Pokemon game that works like Skylanders... and Disney Infinity... for Wii U... feel free to pinch yourself now.. we'll give you time... LOL.. I doubt it would be anything close to that.. but I would love to see a lot of peoples faces if it was..

Re: Talking Point: Wii U and Third-Party Inconsistencies Pose Questions for Console Owners

Relias

@S_T_K That is true but the reason I went with Gamecube I guess is because Nintendo finally went to disks...they had a powerful enough machine.. and good controls and still was ignored.. I did not know Sony did that... so basically it was almost like what Nintendo did in the NES era(Which gets thrown up time and time again as to why Sega could not compete.. and is used.. because of the unfairness of the policy to justify some of the hate Nintendo gets?? that is very interesting.. I know it's different.. but still very interesting) anyway.. I think you understand the point I was making... so I am not going to argue.. I will say this.. thank you for teaching me something new.. I shall take notes and look it up and learn more about it..

Re: Talking Point: Wii U and Third-Party Inconsistencies Pose Questions for Console Owners

Relias

Problem is this has not been a problem since just the Wii... Nintendo has had this problem since the Gamecube... there was plenty of games there that was not released on their system.. whether they had online or not... and the Cube was a more powerful system then the PS2... so Nintendo really did deliver in terms of power.. and controls.. everything.. they gave third parties the ability to program for their system.. and the tech they needed and still got ignored.. that is why Nintendo did the Wii.. and the Wii U.. the harsh reality that they will be ignored no matter what they do.. because if it's not system specs.. it's not wonky controls or something unique... it's Nintendo systems only sale Nintendo games... I think the Wii U is fine.. personally as a gamer in general.. I think it will have great first party support.. and just enough third party to be a fine system.. but I also believe third parties drop the ball.. and no matter what.. they would continue to drop the ball in terms of support.. and in terms of getting a complete package compared to other systems.

Re: Interview: Ubisoft On Splinter Cell Blacklist, Taking the Series Forward and Wii U Features

Relias

I think the reason why the Off Line Co Op is such an issue is because the Wii U is pushed as a party system... and for it's off screen capabilities...while player 2 plays on screen.. I do believe they are making more of an issue out of it then what it really is... but then I do not think it's unreasonable to think Offline Co Op.. should be ready out of the box... especially when Wii U is not exactly know for it's online players except a few games.. (Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for example) That being said.. I think developers need to start working on The Wii U version earlier then the others.. to take advantage of the hardware and to deliver the complete package..

Re: IGN Editor: If Wii U Doesn't Pick Up, Nintendo Should Look To New Hardware

Relias

Now let me tell you why these people are not very bright.. first off.. if after 1 year.. Nintendo releases a new console this will displease everyone.. Nintendo needs to make it's case with this console.. because none of these 3.6 million is going to go out after 1 year and buy another Nintendo system for 300 dollars or more..

2. Even if they did Nintendo will never actually compete on the power front.. Nintendo tried.. and for the most part got ignored with it's Gamecube.. Nintendo has learned their lesson.. they are not going to go out and make the most powerful system.. they will only make a powerful enough system.. this means that Nintendo has to depend on new game play experiences for their consoles.. (Such as Motion Control and Gamepad)...

3. Even if they did.. they would be in no better a position then they currently are.. third parties will continue giving them poor ports.. or incomplete games.. and fans will use this as a reason not to buy said games.. third parties will use this as a excuse to not support them.. and they will just wind up right back where they are.. at least with the Wii U they have games coming that can improve the systems being sold.. on a new system they would also have to go back into development.. for new games.. and it will take them some time to work on them.. and you may get another poor launch because of it..

4. And this is the kicker.. (at least in my area) Nintendo does not get treated on equal grounds with their competitors by retailers... The XBOX and PS2 had places you could actually get on and play them in the store.. (Displays) Gamecube did not... GBA did not... DS never did.. nor did the 3DS.. but PSP did.. PSVita does.. 360 does, PS3 does, Wii U and Wii does not... but they already have a display ready for PS4 and XBOX One just waiting for the system to be hooked up.. retailers go out of their way to sell you a Sony or Microsoft product.. they seem to just stock and hope the Nintendo products will magically move themselves..

So in the end.. this would ultimately just be a failure for Nintendo on two fronts.. and damage their already fragile faith that the consumer has with the company

Re: Ubisoft: The Wii U GamePad "Feels Like a Natural Extension" in Splinter Cell Blacklist

Relias

Well i do think it's funny.. the one system displaying itself as a party system and should have Local Co OP.. is getting ignored.. on that front.. in order to release it on time.. and actually get's online support.. (Yes that does throw me into shock.. I thought Wii U had no online players that was why we were getting ignored on the Batman Front.. and getting little to no DLC.. ) That being said.. i hope it does well.. and maybe Wii U will become more of a Online system .. but I will not support this.. I am sorry.. it makes me angry that everyone is supporting this whether you like it or not.. just to keep a third party company making games for your system.. hell why don't you just ask everyone to buy a copy of Smurfs 2 while your at it?? Third parties need to change their attitudes when it comes to Nintendo.. They need to stop telling us these are the games your getting and if you don't support them.. we won't make any games for your system or at least will cut down support.. and no I don't think you should feel forced to support their attitude in that.. I have a specific list of games I am buying.. and I will get those games only.. I refuse to support something just because a third party has that attitude.. if you get your games.. that is great.. I want you too.. but don't ask me to support something I will never even play... that is selfish... (If I pay 60.00 for it.. I should at least want to play it.. or don't anyone agree with that??)

Re: Review: The Smurfs 2 (Wii U)

@The_Inquisitor Oh come on.. everybody knows My Little Pony is the system seller.. until that comes out and does not move systems.. Wii U is not doomed..

Re: Wii U Price Cuts Only Brought Modest Additional Sales for Asda and Amazon UK

Relias

Well there is a lot of blame to go around.. Nintendo is to blame for no advertising.. but retailers.. first thing they did around here when a PS or XBOX is launched set up a place where you could play them.. they did not do this with GBA, DS, 3DS, Wii, or Wii U... (Not to mention Gamecube or N64) None of Nintendo's systems have been on display.. for you to try and play... so retailers depend on the fact that Nintendo is just magically going to move itself off the shelves.. while they push the PS4 and XBOX ONE even now... and will once they get the systems in store.. it's also third parties fault too... I know it's not their.. job to sell Nintendo.. but I could not help but notice.. that at E3 they only mentioned PS3, PS4, 360, and XBOX ONE.. not one mention that their games were coming out for Wii U... it's almost like they don't even want to bother to sell their games on the platform.. and then complain and wonder why they don't get any sales on that platform.. they need to let people know there is a Wii U version... it's their job to sale their own games on the system not Nintendo's.. and when you have the nerve to basically.. not even point out you have a Wii U version coming.. or to show no excitement what so ever for it... then what do you expect?? Basically.. The Wii U is doing bad.. because yes Nintendo did screw up.. but it's also doing bad.. because it's not being treated just like the other systems,,, there is enough blame to go around for Wii U's sales.. and I love Nintendo.. because they have put up with this.. and have had patience.. and actually went so far as to apologize.. I can only imagine what would happen if Sony and Microsoft was treated like this... they would be calling it an outrage.. not to mention what their fans would be doing..

Re: Wii U Research & Development Costs May "Undermine Profitability"

Relias

@WiiUExposed And yet we have.. on both PS3 and 3DS.. heck we even waited on the 360... and actually.. waited on just about every system.. we bought them of promises of future titles or release titles without knowing if those titles would ever show up.. or at least when.. a lot of people bought a PS3 thinking Kingdom Hearts 3 was going to show up... never happened.. and the list can go on and on..

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Financial Results Tell a Tale of Two Systems and Bold Ambition

Relias

@banacheck The problem is the world economy is totally different.. from the PS3.. and that unlike the PS3... The Wii U does not have another movie upgrade that it helps to push.. (DVD to Blu Ray) as thus is not given away for free with surround sound systems.. in actuality a lot of PS3's were given away a Blu Ray players.. or sold as Blu Ray Players.. because it would have failed as a video game system.. the same goes.. unfortunately for Wii U.. that being said after July.. I expect system sells will go up to a point that 160,000 units pushed is once every month and a half..

Re: Looks Like Batman: Arkham Origins Isn't Getting Online Play On Wii U

Relias

@Doma Not.. some of Nintendo's offerings I can understand no online play.. .. well actually.. seeing as to how Nintendo wants you and your friends in the Living Room for a party game.. I do understand.. something like this is stupid however.. first off.. this does not even need a Internet Muli player mode.. (It's Batman.. Batman is supposed to run off stories.. not a Internet Mode.. if they need to add that that basically is a indicator of how weak the game is.. in single player mode.. which should never happen..) But more importantly.. it proves everyone right on why they don't buy a Wii U.. or if they do they don't support third parties on it.. because once again.. the Wii U is getting the inferior version.. which is just plain stupid.. (Also shows another reason why a lot of Nintendo fans won't be buying this game..)

Re: Asda Stores No Longer Stocking New Wii U Systems or Games

Relias

@Laxeybobby Ebay is not something to go by to determine if something is dead.. if it were the PS3 would have been DOA in America.. seeing as to how used ones with 1-3 games shortly after launch were struggling to get to 250.00 (There was exceptions to this rule but usually that was what happened) The Vita would be pretty much toasty by now too... not to mention the PSP.. I did buy my Wii U second hand.. and frankly there seems to be a nice market for it.. even the Basics most generally go for 235.00 -270.00.. and that is just the system... no games included.. which is not bad when you consider the 299.99 going price.. as a matter of fact some Wii U's are going above MSRP...there is once again exceptions.. from both sides.. ..

Anyway.. from the way people are talking about this place.. it seems like your saying something along the lines of Price Chopper stopped stocking Wii U's.. now grant you.. that might be a big deal.. until you realize they are a Supermarket.. (Grocery Store) then all of a sudden Wii u's seem out of place.. Now if you said Wal Mart stopped stocking them.. that is news..

Re: Asda Stores No Longer Stocking New Wii U Systems or Games

Relias

No I doubt they will restock.. especially when mentioned what they are doing with the 3DS... I mean really.. take out one of the top selling systems.. And still have Vita up??? That sounds like a grudge.. not a business move.. it sounds like since Wii U has failed they want nothing at all to do with Nintendo... while suffering with the Vita.. because of PS3 and the Hope that remote play will sell it when the PS4 get's released..

Re: Wii U Finally Hits One Million Sales in Japan

Relias

The Load times are not that bad anymore... no more than the 3DS honestly... actually the only complaint that I would have is the memory they give you.. but honestly to make up for that.. they made it to where you can hook up almost anything and it would work with the system... so I can't complain.. maybe the library of games could be better... but I don't hold that against Nintendo either.. because just like the PS3 before it.. the PS4 and the XBOX ONE are both going to get games.. rather they struggle or not... only Nintendo gets truly dropped.. for instance.. even if PS4 and One.. suffer a drop in sales after launch.. EA will still make Maddens Football and just about everything else for them.. and that makes a huge difference.. You will never be able to take the sales globally and compare them and say it's fair if not for that one fact... that being said.. well done Nintendo... you need to do better... but this is a huge achievement..

Re: Nintendo Comments On EarthBound's Inflated Pricing

@Kirk Oh please.. are you saying you would rather pay 60-100 bucks for this game?? To get a physical copy?? Oh I am so sorry.... but this is one of the rare occasions where the extra bucks is justified.. especially when you consider what you would have to pay on Amazon and Ebay for this.. Now if they charged 10 bucks for something you could get for 50 cents on Ebay and Amazon.. yeah I would be ticked.. that being said.. Can we please get Shin Megami Tensei.. and Treasure Hunter G on VC...
