Re: Talking Point: It's Time for Nintendo to Drop Region Locking

Relias

The Wii U is not under powered sorry.. in truth even Microsoft and Sony had said most of the games coming to their system would only us 2 cores.. and about 2 Gigs of memory.. in reality.. so the Wii U is built perfectly.. It's just that it is a Nintendo Console.. and that means first party Nintendo games are going to have to sell it first.. so Third party exclusives.. or games in general is going to do well.. I said earlier that I don't believe.. EA gave the Wii U a legitimate shot.. but to be fair.. I don't think Nintendo did either... they are just now coming to the party is the reality.. so I think it might be an interesting holidays.. Anyway unlocking the region lock may help.. but I don't think it will matter as much now.. (And Dsi had a region lock really.. how about 3DS.. cause I have a European copy of a game that works fine on my very North American 3DS)

Re: Review: Project X Zone (3DS)

Relias

Basically it is like this with this game.. if you are a fan of the franchises this represents.. and you don't mind crazy upgraded animation from say Street Fighter Vs. Capcom.. 32 bit days.. (And note I said updated as in they look better than that.. but it gives you an idea of the craziness) then this game is for you.. It's fun and can be said to be a sort of crazy animation version of chess with characters you should know.. if you don't.. shame on you.. bottom line.. it's either your cup of tea.. or it's not.... and there is all there is to say about it..

Re: Game Gear Mega Man Could be Destined for the 3DS Virtual Console

Relias

Seriously.. just put Shining Force 2, Phantasy Star 0, Streets of Rage 1 and two on the virtual console.. and take my darn money.. that is all you have to do Sega.. (Two of those games I don't think made it to the U.S. Or I should say one didn't// one did.. The Shining Force 2 Spinoff is on a Sega CD collection the other.. (Phantasy Star) Never made it.. I believe.. also.. bring on some Chrystal Warriors.. that was pretty good too..

Re: Aqua Moto Racing 3D Hopes to Make Waves in the eShop on 27th June

Relias

Wave Race 64 came out back when Jet Motto was also very popular.. and when was the last time you saw that series?? Oh yeah.. PS1.. bottomline those games are not as popular as they used to be.. otherwise you may see another Wave Race.. petition Nintendo for one.. and hope for plenty of support.. I liked Wave Race.. and 1080 too.. but the reality is.. both are not likely to see the light of day unless we petition.. and get enough support.. because those games in general.. don't seem to go over as well with the public as they used too..

Re: EA: We're Not Writing Off Wii U

Relias

Well technically.. when they release games they have to give the DLC with them.. (You can always get new memory you know) Secondly.. I know you keep saying they gave it a shot.. and it failed.. and the WII U is not selling well and needs more units sold.. but the problem is going by what I have seen.. they did not give the system a legitimate shot.. (AKA basically make the games that would take full advantage of the systems hardware etc.) I have seen 2/4 games that looked good.. (Need for Speed and Mass Effect) However The Mass Effect most gamers will feel ripped off on buying it on Wii U since the trilogy is already out on other systems.. and the no DLC really is a killer too.. So in the end.. EA shot themselves in the foot on 3/4 games really.. and like I said.. I promise you.. if Sony or Microsoft struggles this much in their first year.. they will start coming up with excuses as to why they need to still make games for those.. while they continue to ignore the Wii U.. (Even if Nintendo somehow managed to ship and sell 20 million units by years end.. and led the 8th gen by a long shot.. EA would either ignore it.. or just ship cheap ports for the most part) Really they should have done at least a Sims game on the Wii U by now..

Re: Poll: Are You in the DLC Brigade?

Relias

Depends I guess.. if I love a game.. and nothing new is coming out soon of what I want.. I will get the DLC.. but most of the time something pops up in the Eshop.. or at retail I want.. so usually I just don't do DLC.. (Or at least not paid DLC) Simply because I ask myself.. a whole game for 4.00 or a few maps for 4.00 or just save the 4.00 and buy something new at retail.. Bottomline.. DLC is not bad.. but if something else comes out I want.. that takes priority..

Re: Fils-Aime - With the Upcoming Wii U Lineup Third-Party "Development Dollars are Starting to Shift"

Relias

The sad thing is.. even if Wii U sold 90 million plus.. all third parties would do is give you mainly cheap ports and party games.. and if they did not make a game for the Wii U.. they would use the excuse that Nintendo is not a real gaming company.. or Nintendo is running off old tech and we don't want any more of the same ole.. same ole.. do you?? Or (I always loved this one) Real Gamers own a PS4 or XBOX One.. or PS3 or 360.. not a Wii U and we want to be where the real gamers are at.. Third parties.. just like coming up with excuses.. which is funny.. because if anything Capcom.. and at times Ubi proves all of them wrong..

Re: Reggie Unmoved By The Threat Of $400 PlayStation 4

Relias

Hmmm maybe some marketing for the Holidays.. might help...

Wii are ready... Shows the Nintendo makers and crew playing some of the best games with various screen shots...

Are U??

Now U R playing with power...

LOL.. Just a quick idea..

or maybe... Wii would like to play with U... (Like old Wii Commercials.)

Re: Reggie Unmoved By The Threat Of $400 PlayStation 4

Relias

Bottom line.. I play Nintendo Games because I am secure enough I don't have to play Mature games all the time.. to feel mature.. unlike some.cough Cough But I would not worry about it either.. Wii U is going to be the cheapest HD Console on the market come the holiday season.. or there abouts.. in addition.. it will have the games to make it a contender..

Re: Iwata: We Are To Blame For Poor Wii U Sales

Relias

Reason I love Nintendo.. Microsoft: Buy XBOX One or a 360 if you don't like our policies, Sony: People need to get another job to afford our console.. Nintendo: Wii are sorry our sells suck.. wii are to blame.. There is a huge difference there.. and I think Nintendo has the best response

Re: Steel Diver Will Be Nintendo's First Free-To-Play Game

Relias

Sad thing is.. I have copies of Steel Diver up on Ebay... you can't give the darn things away... which is sad.. cause from what I hear it's a good game.. Maybe this will renew some interest in the title.. who knows.. next up.. Punch Out.. make it happen Nintendo..

Re: Kingdom Hearts III Highly Unlikely To Appear On Wii U

Relias

@Lobster and they ruined the Final Fantasy Franchise.. I know.. I know.. and I am okay with it.. the only thing Nintendo gets from them that is major is Dragonquest.. I have learned to except that.. though for the life of me.. I don't see why a Kingdom Hearts can't be done on a Nintendo System.. you would think we'd be the perfect crowd for it.. but they don't care... they don't want to take our money.. and I am okay with that.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo E3 Survey

Relias

I think Nintendo's show did exactly what it was supposed to do.. get Nintendo fans to recognize the Wii U.. and the fact that it is getting first party support.. to get them to get a Wii U later this year.. or early to mid next year..Was this a great E-3.. no.. I have to say from what I saw of the PS4.. and Microsoft Xbox One.. it did not look like a improvement or much of one from a 360 or a PS3.. Nothing on either of those systems got me excited.. which is sad.. I love Sony.. but nothing inspired me to want to get a PS4... I think Nintendo did a great job.. and by the end of the year.. it's a whole different ball game for the Big N.. I don't think they "Nailed it" But I was happy..(Besides the last time I saw an E3 worth getting hyped for was when DS and PSP was shown before that you would have to go back to 32-64 bit era.. after that it's been to much about graphics.. and actually.. there isn't much of a improvement usually over the generation before.. so technically.. not much to get hyped up for on the console fronts.. except games that can be owned, traded and sold.. which is really sad when you think about it.. )

Re: Waiting For Wii U To Drop In Price? Not Going To Happen, Says Nintendo

Relias

I think by Black Friday there will be a price cut.. and I also believe the best BF deals are going to be on Wii U... I think by the Holidays.. even though some of the heavy hitters are not coming out this year.. we will see the Wii U double maybe triple in audience.. when this happens the PS4 and XBONE will either be sold out.. and running behind in shipments which may help the WII U for people interested in it as a second or third console eventually.. (Specially in NA) so I think end of year numbers will look close to this for next Gen Consoles.. Wii U: Around 8-12 million sold.. PS4: Around 4-5 Million Sold.. XBOX One: Around 2-4 million sold.. making the Wii U the strongest next gen console.. and forcing developers to come back to it... even if somewhat temporarily.. and when they do... that will in turn boost the Wii U even more.. which will let it lead this generation for at least another year..

Re: Defenders of Oasis

Relias

Gamegear classics on 3DS.. awesome.. Shining Force was one of the best games on the system.. and RPG's were very rare on it. But the ones that were released were very good..

Re: Pachter: Without Third Party Support Nintendo Fans May End Up Buying A Second Console

Relias

Well technically even when Nintendo had Third Party Support.. I seem to remember gamers having more than one system.. (This dates back to well actually the NES and SNES... but got more relevant with N64 and beyond) So gamers having more than one system has not killed Nintendo yet.. and I doubt it will happen now.. frankly most Nintendo Gamers don't mind having little third party support.. they are perfectly happy with Nintendo Games.. and the occasional third party title for their system.. (If any) or quite used to needing another system..

Re: EA Will "Jump Back In" If Wii U Becomes A "Viable Platform"

Relias

Bull crap.. EA did not want to support the Wii or Gamecube either.. they only supported the Wii because it had a big crowd.. even though their games didn't sell as well on Nintendo.. and EA should know consoles after initial launch takes time to sell.. especially in this day and age... so when XBOX One and PS4 are six months in and only selling 3 million or less.. I expect to hear a bunch of excuses from EA as to why they stopped porting their games there.. most likely you won't.. because of the fact that developers can get creative.. and all of a sudden it takes time for a new system to develop a fan base.. so we have to keep making games.. to either A. Help the system along.. or B. Make sure the fans of the systems get what they want.. In other words this is nice BS.. for ignoring Nintendo..

Re: Ubisoft Scaling Back Support For Wii U, Expects Price Cut To Bolster Sales

Relias

I think this is okay.. most people that bought the Wii only bought it for one of three reasons..

1. Wii Fit

2. Wii Party Games.

3. Nintendo Exclusives.

Now I am not saying third parties did not do good on the Wii.. but honestly it was few and far between.. most did better on the little DS than ever the Wii.. The sad thing is.. I think there is enough confusion.. and that is what is hurting Wii U sells.. they need to take the Wii off the shelves and show people the Wii U is the console they should have.. I also think if Wii Mote Controls etc.. not only worked but said Wii U on the box.. that would help.. a price cut would help.. in actuality I could see Nintendo doing three versions by the holidays.. they can lanch a big version 64 GB or higher at 300.00 price mark.. the 32 GB version at 250.00 and keep the basic but mark it down to 180.00 to 200.00 put this we Wii Fit U and other games and most likely MS and PS running out of inventory.. (as happens all the time most generally.. though I think MS is in for a rude surprise.. ) It would make for a excellent Holiday Season.. and Ubi will be back.. along with EA.. begging us to take them back..

Re: Super Mario 3D World Coming To Wii U This December

Relias

For the first time since Mario Bros. 2.. I am actually excited about a Mario title.. that takes some doing.. I may actually have a Wii U on my Christmas list for this.. and some other titles I have seen.. I loved the show.. and got very excited.. for games.. and the show in general for the first time sine the DS and PSP debuts.. well done Nintendo..

Re: Video: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes E3 Trailer Saves the Day

Relias

Got it reserved for my 3DS... I have a strict rule on Lego Games.. no heroes.. no buy.. my first Lego game was Lego Batman on the DS and I loved it.. (Well actually Lego Batman 2 Demo I loved it) I loved Lego Batman.. I liked Lego Batman 2.. I was disappointed with it.. (No villains mode.. and why could it not play more like the Brave and the Bold.. where Batman teams up with a different hero every level or two) It was still good.. and I hope this one will be good too..

Re: EA Has No Publicly Announced Wii U Games Planned For Fall

Relias

Because of the DRM all EA can do for the most part is insult Nintendo's Wii U.. sorry it's not Nintendo's fault that they happen to be a company.. and need to make profit and as thus make profitable systems,.. Your DRM scheme is a insult and slap in the face to the consumer.. and frankly.. EA.. your biggest apps are games that just get a yearly upgrade in Graphics and Rosters.. and perhaps teams... it's a terrible thing that you have not in this day and age of DLC and downloading in general have not just made one physical copy of any given game (Say Maddens Football) and just give a yearly patch or expansion that will upgrade everything you need to make it Maddens 2014 or whatever for about 20-30 bucks max.. EA for the most part has ripped the consumer off.. for to long now.. Sorry but really Nintendo does not need you that bad.. EA. Actually for the most part.. we are better off without you.. and your little rip off and DRM schemes..

Re: Link's Awakening Turns 20 Years Old

Relias

After the disappointments that were Link's Adventure and A Link to the past... this game restored the magic of the Zelda Series.. and is one of the reasons I still get excited everytime I hear about a new Zelda...it's that awesome... a true Classic..

Re: Hands On: Going for the Combos in Project X Zone

Relias

Tried Demo... was a bit skeptical at first... all I got to say now.. is going by the Demo.. This is the must buy game of summer period.. and has the potential to be one of the top games for 3DS of 2013... (I know that is saying a lot... but trust me.. it's just that darn good.. )

Re: These Screens Show What NES Games Would Be Like Today

Relias

LOL... I could imagine some achievements from that age.. (Congrats you unlocked achievement for 100 1-ups off the turtle on the stairs in Mario Bros.) And you forgot Navi's most famous line... Listen.... you should have taken multiple pictures of that game and put little captions that said 5 seconds later... Having her say Listen/Hey Look ... it was so bad I was surprised at times Link didn't send a letter asking for all N64 controllers to come with a Mute Navi Button...

With that being said.. I will say games are good in this day and age.. but I think things have killed some of the fun... (For instance I always thought the little mini games in the FF series starting with 7 as far as I know.. killed that series.. ) The Only FF I loved on Playstation was FF Tactics... and the best on PS 2 to me was 12. I also think that what most people consider the best thing for games has also killed... a lot of games... Going Online... I knew once this happened developers would have a good reason either A. Not to release complete games.. (For DLC purposes which has happened in the past) Or B. Not to work out all the bugs.. because you can just download patches.. (Which has also happened.)

A lot of people don't realize what you pay for now in DLC back in the early to mid 90's would have just been put in the game for free...

I will say this the era of games from the 70's to the early 90's was the best today games are either to easy... or ask you to buy content.. you should be getting free..

Re: Review: Star Wars Episode I: Battle for Naboo (Nintendo 64)

Relias

i never got to play this.. but was highly interested when I had my N64.. I loved Rogue Squadron could not get enough of it.. but I think the Zelda games and Ogre Battle 64.. (Very good game by the way) and Gauntlet Legends.. inspired me to not sway toward this game.. course.. if I got my N64 back.. this would be one of the first games i would buy most likely.. it would be worth every penny

Re: Hardware Classics: Nintendo Virtual Boy

Relias

Actually.. in a strange sense I liked the Virtual Boy.. I played on it a lot.. at Blockbuster.. and Best Buy... and while I would not say it was the best system in the world.. it kind of brought back memories of really old computer games or something.. can't explain it.. but I know I liked it... I actually have this on my wish list as a system for my collection..

Re: Feature: Our Top 10 3DS Games - Summer 2013

Relias

My top 3 for the 3DS would be

3. Lego Batman 2... (Don't ask me why.. but I love this game..) tied with Marvel Superhero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet 3D

2. Fire Emblem Awakening.

1. Legend of Zelda OOT3D.. and what do you mean one of the greatest games of all time?? How about the greatest... I remember having all the most popular machines from the 32-64 bit era.. and as much as I loved my Playstation... my N64 got a lot more play time.. do to OOt, Gauntlet Legends, and Perfect Dark..

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life's Staff Favourites - Super NES

Relias

Actually I never understood what made A Link to the Past so great.. it's one of my least favorite Zelda's (Along with Links Adventure) I thought the Original was a classic.. and Links Awakening on GB was when Zelda got it's magic back.. (Then came OOT arguably my favorite game of all time). Super Mario World was okay.. but I liked the NES and Gameboy Mario games better... Donkey Kong Country while visually impressive.. (Loved the music too) I found
boring.. F-Zero was awesome but frustrating... I loved Super Metroid though... and the hours I wasted on Castlevania 4... and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo.. (Hyper fighting) is insane.. Chrono Trigger is one of the Best RPG's of all time.. but everytime I see a list like this I can't help but wonder.. where is Gradius 3... and more importantly.. the Hardcore RPG game called 7th Saga.. (Often forgotten unfortunately... I wish they would remake that one.. just update the graphics.. leave the gameplay as is..)

Re: Talking Point: Wii U vs Xbox One - Online Requirements and On-Disc DRM

Relias

Agreed with Dave C... The problem I have and have always had with companies that try to destroy the used game market through various ways.. is Ebay.. and Amazon.. basically.. a lot of people resell their games on these sites.. and they should have the right to do this.. as well as letting your friends borrow your games.. or maybe just handing some to a family member.. any company that tries to take those rights away is wrong... I love when people talk about this and then talk about used cars.. you can't reset a game.. it has miles on it too.. (Scratches on the discs.. etc.. ) That can affect the way it plays.. and it's life span in general.. in addition.. I promise you.. if the car companies and dealerships told you to pay full price.. then limited what you could do with the car.. (Can't sell it.. Can't trade it in.. Can't let a friend/family member drive it.. Can't give it to another family member oh and by the way.. the dealership and or company gets to repo it upon your death) Plus at any giving time they can come back and either repo your car.. because they stop supporting it.. or just take it out and total it.. and force you to buy a newer model... there would be a lot of Po'ed people out there.. cause that is almost what is happening to the games all the people on XBOX One will be buying.. and quite possibly the PS4..

Re: Feature: 3DS - A Report Card Ahead of Its Biggest Year

Relias

Well I love the 3DS it is almost a perfect upgrade from my favorite system of all time.. (The DS) But I will say this.. it falls a little short in a couple areas.. battery life.. and games... while it is getting better in the games department.. it's still not as good as the DS.. I remember I waited 2 years to buy a DS and the reason was because I wanted a system that at least had 12 games I wanted to play... when I finally got it.. within months I had 20 games in my collection that was how strong the library was.. I have had my 3DS for almost the same amount of time.. and only have 6 actual 3DS games.. (That being said I do have a reservation for one) Needless to say... The 3DS needs a little more meat in it's lineup.. (I would also like to suggest strongly a sequel to Dragonquest Heroes: Rocket Slime... yeah it was easy.. and a little kiddy.. but dang I loved those tank battles.. actually I think I got KO'ed twice through the main story of the game.. and both times was from Tank Battles)
