@Peek-a-boo I definitely agree with you. The Last Of Us DEFINITELY deserved the awards that it has. Just like SMB3DW deserves awards. However, TLoU came out on top. Nothing wrong with that.

My parents got this game for me for Christmas back in '91 for NES. Do you know they played this game more than I did. They both use to grab their drinks and play til morning. It was crazy watching how great they were at it. Especially my mom. I'm getting it for nostalgia purposes and hum all the tunes. (Yes I know them all by heart.)

@Zeldamaster97 Agreed. I would rate that game above most games. It's easily one of my favorite games of all time. If they (Nintendo) HD remade that in the futre, that game could very well sell millions. No doubt.

Well deserved. Also, if there was an artistically most beautiful award....they should win that too. Yes I have a bias with SMB3DW. I'll gladly admit. It was easily one of the best games (top 3) that I've played last year. Heck I will extend that notion to say it's one of the best games I've ever played. Period! Congrats Nintendo!

@BAGBOY No Capcom should not sell the IP to Nintendo. There are Mega Man fans on every platform. It shouldn't be just exclusive to Nintendo.

@Falkor Remember that Namco Bandai normally develops these Mario Kart GP/X, etc titles. So it wouldn't be too farfetched to see Pac-Man and/or other Namco characters there.

Can some one honestly explain to me as to why these Arcade MK's never made it to consoles? If the previous consoles couldn't do it before, I'm more than sure the Wii U can support this now.

@FullbringIchigo No. Netflix, Hulu, etc are unaffected by this.

I agree about local multiplayer. It surprises me that there are games out today that don't support local multiplayer. That should be automatic in every game that has a relevant genre for more than 1 player. Online co-op is something that needs to be explored more as well. Some games have it, and some games don't.

@Goginho Yeah 3rd party with Nintendo hasn't been good in the last 17-18 years to be honest. It's only gotten worse over each new generation. Nintendo will always have stellar first party games, but not so great 3rd party support. Little to almost none at all. Ubisoft and Activision are 2 of the only ones left really that supports Nintendo. A crying shame, but Nintendo needs to also market themselves to these 3rd party folks as well if they want their audience larger.

I'm not at all worried about Nintendo. I'm just worried about the Wii U. Such a capable console is being overlooked because of negative media propaganda and 3rd party developers. They aren't the sole reason why the Wii U isn't being taken serious. These inferior ports they get doesn't help either.

@Senario You and I both know why Rayman Legends was delayed. Ubisoft only did that because of you-know-who with their you-know-what's. From a business standpoint though, why would Ubisoft delay the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 & 360 versions just for the Wii U's version seeing as the Wii U's third party sales have been lacking? I'm just looking at it from a business standpoint. Ubi would loose sales on enormous levels just for the Wii U. That wouldn't be good for Ubi.

@Senario Yes I did ask for it. Now here's my rebuttal to it. When it comes to marketing, it's socially know as something that's persuaded through words and/or what you hear. It's not solely about what you hear. You should know that. Some people see what they believe to be a good thing, whether it's crap or not, and eat it up by buying in to it. It's not just words. Although I can admit that seeing alone won't persuade someone. It's what you say. However, you also can't just tell someone something they want to hear without them seeing something tangible and/or plausible outcomes and promises. That is what Sony did. Now the launch games was brought up because it was detriment to the point I was making about how "mediocre" the games are from Sony. Sony's motto with "Greatness Awaits" pertains to the what the PS4 has and what's to come. You're looking at it one sided versus a more broad sense of scope here. Yeah the games come LATER, but again, so did the Wii U. If you're wondering why I'm bringing up the Wii U in these arguments..it's because this is a Nintendo site and most Nintendo extremists often downplay other platforms for their console of preference. So of course I'll bring up the Wii U here. What we have in common here is that we both have experience in political language and marketing. So I do know a good palor trick from a corporation that's hidden behind fancy promises and sub par goods. What makes us different is our own interpretation of what we see and conjure our own measures of what was shown. I don't want to waste time naming games that are coming to Sony whether they are exclusives or multiplats. The point is that they are coming.

Now I can't argue with you about frame rates because I told you that I don't really care for it. I've gotten on Sony's extremists pretty tough about them boasting something that's, in my opinion, trivial. Also admittedly I don't have enough experience with the frame rates because I just got into PC gaming. Before that I was solely just consoles. Not that I didn't want to game on PC, it was because I simply didn't do so and was intimidated by the fact that I would have to build one. I'm not very mechanical. Then I found out I didn't need to be mechanical to build a PC. The more you know, right?!

Okay, not I brought up Microsoft because I felt it was relevant to what we were talking about. Not to bash them. I play on my 360/One as well. In this case, Microsoft and Sony can be compared since they offer similar services. Optional services I might add from both. Now the Plus is free for as long as you keep the service. It's not different than paying insurance. Sure comparing apples to pears here for what's a necessity and what's just a hobby may seem little, but the concept is still the same. Oh and what do you mean you don't get to keep the game when it goes off of rotation? I have every single game that came out for Plus since 2010 when they first implemented the service. We can argue this til we're blue in the face, but all I see is just us trying to counter one another. We can continue to argue on this particular subject if you like though.

About the PC's and opinions. People are only voicing concerns. No different than someone voicing their concern on purchasing a new tv they know nothing about. That's not the same as someone whose in the tv business or purchases tv's on the regular and has knowledge of them and different types of tvs. They are engrossed in the field. The analogy you used for fox news was a weak analogy. How can someone take you as credible if you NEVER watch Fox news?! Regardless of what you hear about them. I guess if someone heard what they read about the Wii U and then went on to bash the system they never played...then their opinion is vaild, right? Now who doesn't get consoles for exclusives?! We all do. That's the bottom line. Sure the PS and Xbox have multiplats that sell better than their first parties, but we normally buy consoles for exclusives. I can't take an opinion seriously from someone that has no experience with that said notion. Can you honestly say you can?

Let's be honest here, PC gamers go on sites because they want to show them how big their member is. That is ALL I've seen from PC gamers that come on console sites. You don't see console folks going on a PC forum and talking about specs and stuff. That would be just outright stupid. The specs arguments really wasn't prominent until now. Yes last gen it was mentioned a few times, but not like it is now. Also it was against other consoles, not PC. The sales doesn't matter. I don't care about sales in the least. You buy what you like and that's that. However, I see more and more Nintendo fans upset and lashing out at Sony and MS fans because sales aren't doing to well for Wii U. I can admit that the fanboys/girls their don't make it easy either. Neither will fanboys from Nintendo. It's just what it is.

Back to the PC thing, I'm going to build mines up. I don't know a thing about PC building, but I have a PC friend (who might I add is an elitist) who will help me. He has a PC with a current standard setting of 1440p and can go to 4k. At least that's what he told me. He has 4 monitors and such. I'm not that extreme.

That looks fun. I'll pick it up if it comes to the Wii U.

I'm not saying that to be mean. The amount of 3rd party games for the Wii U selling an even a good amount has been dismal at best. More than likely the sales won't do great for the Wii U. So why hold back the systems that will sell better? It's all business at the end of the day. I sure do wish the Wii U was doing a lot better. I so hope these upcoming 1st party titles do well to push the Wii U in a better place.

@Senario No I can't be fair to him at all. Why listen to someone's opinion on what he "thinks" of the other consoles when he doesn't even have them, and that's apparent. If you can't mitigate your opinion on something without bashing another, then you lose all credibility as far as debates is concerned. This isn't the first time he's done this. I don't know why you're taking his side, then again, I don't care about sides anyway.

You Senario also kind of have a thing against Sony. We spoke about this before, remember? Although I will admit that you're more subtle (element187) and do bring some some good points, I have to argue some of them.

Quick question, how is Sony misleading the market? I mean seriously answer that with objectivity. They said everything right to win over the consumer. No there isn't a game out yet that is a system seller. I'll admit that. Neither was the Wii U when it launched and I STILL bought it on launch day. Another thing, Sony has announced a ton of games. More so than Nintendo. How could you say that? In the 4 months it's been out, the PS4 has more games than the Wii U has when it launched. Go ahead and compare. If the games are average to you, then okay. Anyone can say the same thing about the Wii U when it launched...easily. Would I argue that topic...NO! Why? Because it's purely up to the consumer on what the deem as average or good. Lots of gamers don't like the The Last Of Us although it's critically acclaimed and is a good game. It's okay if they don't like it. Same thing with Pikmin 3. Some gamers didn't like that game either, although it's a great game. I've heard both of those games mentioned as "average or mediocre" because it wasn't their cup of tea. Now as far as the PS Plus is conerned. I could say the same thing about MS. Last gen they had to pay to play online and couldn't use any other app without have Live Gold. Paying for that subscription to play online is RENTING. No difference, except this time you're getting more stuff this gen with free games across 3 platforms. Rag on it all you want, but that's stellar. Nobody else is offering that.

PC gamers always rag on console gamers and have the elitist demeanor when anything comes or their news with console gamers. Everyone knows a PC can't be trumped. Okay, we get that. However, if the PC gamer's opinion is nothing more than just what they read on the internet and their "vast" knowledge on what they know about their own specs...then why take their opinion if they don't own any other platform? That's what separates the objectivity and bias gamers here. Yes because I have all consoles that I play extensively on, I can make an impartial statement to either of them and I have. I'm on a Nintendo site because I LOVE Nintendo games. I also go to Microsoft and Sony sites because I love their games as well. To say that Sony is lacking in exclusives is ridiculous. I mean really ridiculous. Look how many franchises they have. Even MS has a few. If you're talking about 8th gen, then okay.

Now you're claim on the 720 vs 1080p couldn't be more wrong, in my opinion. You could certainly tell the difference in quality between them. Granted, the difference isn't that huge of a jump but it's still there. Now I won't argue at all that it matters. It really doesn't. The games matter. So I can agree on that. I also don't care for the 30-60fps. As long as I can play a game with little to no issues, then I'm game!

I want you to know that I'm not attacking you on your opinion. I actually respect your opinion and you did bring some valid points. One more thing I'll add is that I just got into PC gaming, but I don't have a gaming rig yet. I'll soon be getting one that will put the specs of the CONSOLES yes all 3 current gen consoles to shame. However, I won't go into console dedicated sites and boast how much better it is compared to the consoles. That would be arrogant and downright rude. Someone on this site said to the other day, " I play the games, I don't play the consoles"! That was one of the realest quotes I've heard from a gamer. Everyone should take heed to that.

Oh I will say this, if I'm a Sony fanboy (although I have a Wii U and an Xbox One), then what does that make you? Ponder on that before you go off calling everyone else fanboys. Nintendo needs to come down and give you a hug. You really sound desperate to throw Sony under the bus....it's almost laughable.

@JaxonH You have a good attitude man. You don't have the entitled demeanor that most gamers have. I respect that. I guess my disdain for NoA is harsh because this has been going on for years now. People in America are feeling a bit short because NoE is better with how they treat their consumers instead of it being equal across the board. Sony has the same problem. Before a few months ago, the Plus updates on the EU side was completely murdering the US's. The complaints were overwhelming...and rightfully so.

Still if gamers had your attitude and just played the games, they wouldn't have the time to complain. Unfortunately that doesn't stop the comparisons though.

@JaxonH Well my friend your faith in NoA is much stronger than mines at the moment. I'll be patient though.

However, you have to admit that NoA drops the ball a lot. Like we still don't have SMB3. There's virtually no reason why we don't have that game, but the U.K. has it. Our content laws are much more lenient than theirs (EU). Well that's another conversation for another day I suppose.

I can't go to eBay and pay outrageous prices. Even for one of my favorite franchises. Reggie better work to get us that limited edition one above, or something in equal value.

@JaxonH That's why I'm a little more pissed at Reggie and the rest of NoA. They barely localize anything for the U.S. and barely lands us any great limited edition offers or trinkets like EU and Japan gets. It's downright dumb. For the first time since Mario Kart: Double Dash (when I started paying for my own games as an adult), I didn't rush to the GS to preorder because I so BADLY want that wretched Blue Shell trophy that sometimes impedes my leads. sigh

Well this is good news guys/gals. That means that Watch Dogs won't interfere with MK8 AND that the game isn't cancelled like most of you thought. It's being worked on by developers who will USE the Wii U features to it's advantages. Come on fans...be happy!!

Why did they single out the SNES version. The Genesis version was just as bad. However, I actually liked Shaq Fu and beat it multiple times. I'll admit that when I first got it on the Genesis, I was less than impressed. As time went on though....it grew on me. If this ever comes to fruition, I'll support it.

@ToxieDogg You're not going to turn this into a console debacle, are ya? Please don't. The PS4/Xbox One wasn't even mentioned until you said something about it with comparisons. Both systems have games and so does the Wii U.

I have to say that I'm terribly disappointed with Nintendo of America. I don't know what Reggie is doing, but this is ludicrous.

However, we can't jump the gun and say that we aren't getting this as well....or even the LE edition of MK8. Still from what history has told us, US doesn't get everything EU got. They (EU) have the superior entity of Nintendo while NoA lags behind as always. Still no SMB3 (yeah I know some of you are tired of us complaining....trust that we're tired of complaining) yet EU has it. It's no wonder the Wii U and such is struggling in America.

Enjoy the game gusy/gals. This game is all types of awesome. Definitely one of the best indies I've played last year.

@Guitardude7 I got a long way to go before I get to the final boss. I have slight OCD when it comes to completing thongs 100%. So I'm getting all the ouzzle pieces and missing Kong letters and such. Yeah Retro is a fabulous studio. Nintendo should keep them exclusive to them.

@Anguspuss Did she marry you knowing you played games on other systems that isn't fsmily friendly? My wife did and she knew better not to complain. Now that I have children I do watch what I play in front of them. So no shooters and GTA type games. At least hardcore like they are.

@Guitardude7 I'm not acting like anything. I never said the Wii U was dead and I didn't even say that it was on it's on it's last legs. You're taking what you perceive my post is saying. I said the Wii U is in jeopardy. It is and that's a fact. I didn't say it wouldn't come back from it's struggling position. In fact, I praised the Wii U as a great system. You conveniently overlooked that though. I'm currentlt playing DKC:TF more than anything right now. I do play my Wii U. When MK8 drops, my other systems will be on hiatus like when tv shows take a break. Still the Wii U needs help. 3rd part dev help specifically and more software.

The consile race is just beginning and there are no winners yet. However, the Wii U is in jeopardy. If all of these features are so much better than the PS4's, then why has the PS4 surpassed the Wii U's lifetime sales? I CAN'T FRICKIN' DECIDE!! They all look so delicious...I mean..er..good. Yeah good! Mario Kart is one of my favorite franchises, so I may have bias with it. It can look terrible, but I would find some beauty in it. LOL Seriously though, all of the tracks look great and I can't wait to see more.

Wow the lot of you are so butthurt. It was expected of the PS4 to surpass the Wii U along with the X1. MS hasn't released any numbers as of lately, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are creeping on the Wii U's numbers. The sales have been okay at best for MS and have gotten a tiny bit better for the Wii U.

I really wish the Wii U would sell more, but there's something wrong here. The public just ain't biting for it.

Now for those saying the PS4 is the "superior" console....that's subjective and is open to interpretation of the public. No matter how great the PS4 does or even if this is another 6th generation race. The PS2 sold the sold and was the most successful, but the Gamecube was my FAVORITE 6th gen console. See? I have all 3 from the 6th gen on up. However, to those saying it's a "souped up" PS3, that's foolhardy to say at best. Would you say the Wii U is a souped up Wii? Yeah didn't think so.

How unfortunate for Wii U fans. I was getting it on the PS4 anyway, but still I would have hoped Nintendo fans would be able to join in on the fun. The trailer was AWESOME by the way. So they are finally concluding the Arkham series. I'm happy...very happy!

Actually to tell the truth, I'm extremely happy it's on just Wii U. Otherwise, I would have gotten another platform's version strictly for achievements/trophies. It would be good to play the game entirely without having to worry about trophies and such. I'm a bit of a completionist.

Anyway, I think that was a classy answer to the fans that wanted B2 on another platform. They really should be heckling MS and Sony as to why they let it slip through their fingers. Nintendo stepped up and got it exclusive to them. Kudos! I got the first one on PS3 and it's awesome (although the 360 version is the superior one). I will be picking this up DAY ONE!

I hope that Retro stays exclusive to Nintendo and no other. I know that sounds selfish, but Retro has proven that they are in the big boy leagues with the rest of the more talked about studios like Naughty Dog, Rockstar, etc.

DKC: TF is RIDICULOUSLY fun! Can't say I'm surprised. I look forward to their next project. We won't see it for another 2 years or so, but I gather next year we'll see a trailer of the new game. I can't wait.

Wow the PS4 is only a few thousand away from Wii U's lifetime numbers. It's already automatic that the PS4 will surpass the Wii U. That's evident. However, it doesn't make the Wii U any less inferior.

I have to say that I'm baffled that the PS3 sold more than everyone this time around. Oh and the Wii U got a jump. For the first time in a long time, it surpassed the Vita in sales....not total lifetime sales. Just by 5,000 or so.

People saying that the PS4 doesn't have any games really needs to stop. They have plenty of games. Regardless if it's multiplat or not. Killzone, Resogun, Outlast, InFamous (coming in 3 weeks), plus a bunch of multiplats. So yes the PS4 has games for it. Can't wait for that Order:1886 as well.

The Wii U has some heavy hitters coming as well that I'm excited for. I'm not surprised that DKC:TF didn't really move any units. I think MK8 and/or Smash will move some. I also think that the console game in Japan is coming to a close. Handhelds seem to be where it's at with them and Nintendo has that in the bag.

@BertoFlyingFox That's probably the best ideas I've heard on this site since I've been a member. Nintendo definitely needs to think about doing something like that. I hope you sent that in to the Nintendo team.

Well being at the perfect age at that time to enjoy both consoles was a huge plus. Although I favored my SNES much more, I still loved my Genesis. I'm 31 now and I can still remember the debates and arguments on the school bus about which was better or what games was better on what system. Hehe Good times indeed. Now today's console wars are riddled with nothing but moronic fanboys/girls from all platforms. Nothing fun about it at all.

I don't care how much this game sells. I'll be one of the many purchasers. This game right here looks and plays AWESOME!! (Yes I briefly played it and it's beyond great) Maybe Japan fell off of DK. Well America and Europe didn't. We love him here and there.

@Phil_Kavadias Well the PS4 and XB1 didn't have online problems. So how can they be called out on it? Also, you're saying people (like you) aren't having problems...that's good. However, there are far more people who has had problems online. You're not admitting either that it can be Nintendo's fault and that it's automatically the person's service provider. That's double standard, right?

The article I posted wasn't to showcase how bad the Wii U is or was. I never pay attention to stuff like that. I just wanted you to see what they were saying about online. The Wii U is a great system, that's why I purchased one at launch and still play. However, I'm not turning a blind eye like most Nintendo fans on this site to what can be improved. Again, you never heard me say it's unplayable, did you? No! I said I want the stability of online to be better. It's not all that stable and that's that.

Oh and if you want, I can post the thousand links on here saying how bad the Wii's connection was and please don't tell me that people weren't complaining about it. You had every major gaming site in existence complaining about the Wii's horrid....(yes HORRID) online connectivity. You're talking to a person who adores SMB and MK and wanted the online, but it was literally unplayable. Please I invite to look it up on the internet. It won't be difficult at all to find it. It's eveywhere. That's why there are articles saying how the Wii U's online is a huge improvement over the Wii's. People can actually play it. While I agree with those sentiments, I just question the stability. My internet never had a problem with games from others before. Just Nintendo.

You have to stop looking at my post as if I'm saying the Wii U's online is terrible. It's not. Just the stability is. Nothing a patch won't fix.
