Wind Waker Ganondorf was the only one that I felt some sympathy for after he told Link of how his people suffered while Hyrule was thriving, it made me feel bad about beating him and to a degree question what I was doing.

For me the most fun experiences in both games were combat and exploration, so the endgame of BOTW was kind of boring while in TOTK everything still feel fresh up to the end with new places around every corner.

Link is now the apex predator of hyrule, not even cuccos can hurt him while in this machine

Basically when a franchise or restaurant expands to the point where the quality takes a massive hit, new competitors fill the void. So as long as Pokemon keeps this downward curve there will eventually be a competitor, it just will take time.
