Re: Switch 2 Game-Key Cards Won't Make It Easy For Physical Collectors In Japan

@Maxz it’s the Publisher that would save, not the Developer. These are also a gateway to get people used to having to download games. Switch 3 will probably force u to download all games. A shame indeed. I will stick to retro gaming where u turn a game on and can instantly play your games with no updates or downloads from now on. Death to forced updates, downloads and internet required games!!!

Re: Rumour: Leaker Hints At New Nintendo Codenames, Persona 6 On 'Switch 2', And More

Saying they are working on a new Zelda or Mario is not groundbreaking -they are permanently working on ideas that will hopefully become the next Zelda/Mario. There is very little down time between the end of work on the last Mario/Zeld and the start on the Next Mario/Zelda -AAA games take years to make.

Knowing that these games are being worked on is hardly exciting, it’s expected and can be taken as fact without any official announcement. Leakers shouldn’t be given any clout for these.

More exciting is finally seeing the games in motion, and a hardware reveal with dates, prices, launch lineup, and a few surprises. Bring it on Nintendo!

@Cyberbotv2
Nintendo almost certainly charges a fair bit more relative to the competitions CD based software production. It also might take a bit more lead time (months?) to produce switch cartridges as there isn’t likely to be several factories producing them -a problem Nintendo used to have when they controlled their own cartridge production in the 90s.

Publishers are probably being risk averse with “expensive” and unpredictable sales numbers, knowing if they haven’t produced enough and need to put another order in it’s likely they will be in a que waiting several months for more to be produced from the one or two factories in Nintendos control.

Wheras cd based software is fast and cheap to produce more if needed -less risk in inventory and can get more out there fairly quickly if sales are higher than expected.

I was shocked Nintendo went back to carts this Gen tbh. Would be super super shocked if they did the same next Gen.

Konami is going to lose a lot of sales for their stupidity.

I won’t buy a game unless it’s on the cart!!!

I don’t always have access to download games, plus I want to know that if if the publisher switches off a server or something happens to my switch I still have the game on a cart. I wonder how many people will be disappointed with Konami on Christmas Day when they open a game and realise they need to download it -needing a memory card with space, Internet and parents permission to download
So stingy Konami!!!!!!

I won't do patreon, but if they make a good game I will buy it for sure. My VB is hungry for more games! I haven't ever had a headache while using mine either (but then again I haven't used it for a long time non-stop either though) -I think it's likely a lot of the reports at the time may have been from people who didn't even try it / were particularly sensitive.
