Deaths Door (just started so waiting for it to actually get going, very slow start with empty feeling world but will give it the benefit of the doubt considering all the praise.
Resident Evil 8 (that baby in the basement, ugh terrifying)

@Kidfunkadelic83 I hit a wall on Cuphead for a while then on vacation I bought it for Switch and eventually beat it! It’s one of my favourite games of the last decade. I have a much harder time with the megaman x games for some reason. Cuphead is just so damn beautiful too, i bought the artbook.

Look, I love this game but for a moment I thought they were announcing Arena 5 and I got so excited then felt deep disappointment.

I read this as PoopSlinger at first glance.

Nintendo releases must-have exclusives so so rarely. I mostly use it just for the mobility factor. If I had another mobile device where I could play third party games but without the sacrifices needed to run on the Switch you can bet I would use it way more than the Switch. It’s how I use Xbox as my primary console and the PS5 for things like Demons Souls and Ratchet and the eventual first party exclusives.

Eh, the performances are always so cringey. This year I’ll skip watching it and enjoy some Curb Your Enthusiasm (cringey in a different way that’s fun!) instead and look for the game announcements the next day.

Sorry, where are the exciting games arriving in December?

@Donutman holy smokes! I found a guy selling it for $15 on kijiji but wayyyyyy down south. I will probably cave and spend the $50 before long. Cant wait to see what my daughter will think of this series when she comes of age.

That’s cool. I’d rather be playing Cuphead, Forza and Halo MP. I burned out on Animal Crossing after 30 hours since I can only fish the same thing and shake a tree so many times but I don't want to yuck anyone’s yum. I love the aesthetic but I wanted more of an actual game.

I was initially somewhat lukewarm excited for this trilogy since I only played 4 and 5 but now I can just comfortably ignore it now.

I found 3 series X at launch so sold two plus my one x. Then bought two ps5s at launch and sold the extra plus my ps4 pro. So i came away with 2 next gen consoles without spending an extra dollar and had enough left over for a few games and a bottle of scotch. Sucks people are still having trouble a year later and worse that ps5 production is dropping a million units in 2022.

Still no plans of subscribing any time soon. You know, make something like Smash actually playable online and, wow, how about adding to the game library every month? Until then, nu uh.

Yup it’s fantastic game. Though I’d like Kid Icarus port where the controls aren’t as awkward as a 12yr old on their first date.

Not that worried, it looks like it’s barely a sequel. But Diablo 4 I’d love to play when it’s ready!

Oh no! I just got one last year. Enjoying Rogue Squadron and Waverace Blue Storm.

I remember the day I first witnessed Mario 64. It was on a demo station at Blockbuster. It was a time where my awareness of upcoming games was basically non existent so I didn’t know it was coming until I saw it with my own eyes. To my recollection it was my favourite gaming moment, what an amazing game. Second favourite moment? Discovering Mario for NES!

@Abeedo exactly, you cant look at this service in a vacuum. It’s too dirty in there, har har. You have to consider the context around it.

Look, if you don’t subscribe to any other services and adore a couple old Nintendo 64 games and have no other way to play them and you have no other systems to play then maybe it’s a bad to mediocre value proposition. I’m good with Rare Replay and other collections already out there for super cheap and buying old stuff on Gamecube.

Well deserved. The switch is my favourite system for its portability but Nintendo is just dreadful when it comes to online anything. Expansion pack is a horrible product and I think only fools bought it.

The game looks really “it’s fine”. Not worth $80 to me but if it ever hits like $30 or Gamepass it’d give it a go.

I almost bought Dread last week but then my buddy bought it, beat it, and is lending it to me in a couple weeks. I hate being patient but I often save money when I pull it off!

I bought banjo and joker. After that I realized Smash isn’t playable online and gave up playing it, as good as it is I have no one to play with in person.

It’s a poor offering but I don’t see Nintendo admitting that by lowering the price.

I love Nintendo games but Nintendo is 90% of the time super baffling and annoying.

Maybe stuff to do other than catch fish and shake trees and catch bugs? I mean it’s fun for a day or two then it’s like okay what else can I do? Just felt empty and repetitive. Maybe it’s just me.

No additional cost. It’s a pitifully poor and small library already. I stopped my sub a long time ago.

@Donutsavant I actually do love Ori 1. It has great flow and pacing. Ori 2 felt more obtuse in its sense of direction, maybe that’s just me?

I have a difficult time with these games. I hate backtracking and I hate the “where the f*** do I go” aspect of them.

I liked a lot about Hollow Knight but never finished it because it was difficult to navigate with so much samey environments.

I still may try Dread one day but I’m not enthusiastic for the genre.

“Just play Smash”. As good as Smash is it’s virtually unplayable online.

Personally I value fun factor more than any other factor in a game and NickBrawl seems to succeed there so I’m almost ready to pull the trigger and pick this up.

@HamatoYoshi totally. I grew up with games you could beat in an hour. It’s not a disadvantage in and of itself. I played contra, chip and dale, bad dudes, Mario 1, and games like that over and over.

I remember standing in line on launch day at Ebgames and this dude behind me was going on and on about how it was going to be another Wii U face plant. He was there to pick up Breath of the Wild on the U. I didn’t speak to him but found him painfully annoying for the hour long wait. Anyway, when I see sales numbers and any general article about its insane success I just think “ha, suck it dummy”.
