sigh I mean, I’m not entirely sure this mobile monstrosity is really to blame for not getting MK9 since 8 still sells bananas amounts. But I’m still not happy it exists. I just hope if we ever get a Mario Kart 9 it’s more of a Nintendo Kart and has tracks from Kirby, Zelda, Metroid, and has racers from across Nintendo franchises. MK8 gave us a little Costco table sample with its DLC and I want the meal!
I appreciate difficult games. Love Dark Souls and I’m still stuck on the last boss of Sekiro. I keep giving Dead Cells another go every few months because I enjoy the animation and general feel of the game and the weapons are all satisfying. BUT. I feel like there’s been way too many occasions where my life bar gets zapped by something off screen or generally just melts away too quickly before I have a chance to react. It, too often feels unfair, in the way other difficult games I enjoy, are not. I know what I did wrong in Boodborne and can adjust. I feel like I can’t make those same adjustments in Dead Cells. Oh and the new Ghost and Goblins is great but the extra difficult mode (shadow?) is basically impossible for me.
Man what the hell happened to Sonic? As a kid I chose Genesis just for Sonic. And, okay, streets of rage. But over the years Mario games have held very steady on quality but Sonic has mostly taken a dive (I can’t help but compare the two franchises, fair or not fair). I miss getting excited about a new sonic game. But now I just roll my eyes and assume it’ll be a garbage glitch turd and I’m tired of that being the case. Can we ever get a new sonic game as good as Mario galaxy?
Might pick up Spelunky 2 for Switch despite having it on ps5. Same with Monster Train but spent a good deal of time with it on game pass. Also picked up Quake on gamepass but could be a good “sitting in bed” game! Honestly I kinda froze buying games because I can’t decided what next. I really want Dark Souls for switch too 🤷🏼♂️ Why does that never go on sale?
I usually burn out at the 30 minute mark on the majority of games but with MH Rise I am in the mid 80 hour mark. Slowed down since having a baby recently but I still have more gas in the tank for it. I really want to play Bowsers Fury but don’t want to spend the 80 CAN on it. Maybe next year if I get a new job when I’m done my new con ed certification.
Skippable tutorials? Every game needs this. What was that coop shooter from People Can Fly that came out a couple months ago? I started it up and actually put it down right away because of the forced tutorial on moving the camera and how to shoot. Almost every game tries to behave like it’s the first game a person has ever played and has no mental model for video gaming. Please let us skip all tutorials if we want.
@wanderwonder I’d love to know the ratio of docked players to handheld players. I am almost exclusively a handheld player since I can play on my back deck, in bed, anywhere else.
Nothing here for my tastes but that’s okay. Allows me to save up for the inevitable fall downpour of games. Plus I can put time into Mario Golf, Ratchet, and Guilty Gear Strive. Enjoy July!

Re: Mario Kart Tour Launches Event To Celebrate Its 2nd Anniversary
@AlexanderDaniels …what? This is a mobile spin off designed to drain your cash. This is most certainly not mk9, that’s straight ridiculous.

Re: Nintendo 'Blockbuster' Sale Discounts Hundreds Of Switch Games (Europe)
Okay but will Dark Souls be on sale? I can’t justify $50 CAN when it’s $30 or less on every other platform. What’s the deal? Nintendo tax?

Re: Random: That Guy Playing The Switch OLED In His Hallway Is Driving Social Media Bonkers
Hallways are fine. But no guy that looks like that plays Pokémon.
