Re: Pokémon X & Y Update Mandatory for Online Play, Reportedly Blocks Data Cheats

NINTENCHIP

@Fillytase Justifying Instacheck to cheat your way to what should be a rare and valuable pokemon is just as scumbag as justifying the battle analyzer (ironic since one lead to the other, huh?). The value of shiny pokemon decreases drastically when you can just guarantee yourself that you can get one. People need to stop giving cheaters, of ANY kind, leeway to cheat. It's not fair for those who grind multiple days of egg hatching to make their competitive Trick Room teams, or those who spend days trying to chain for 3 IV pokes and shinies.

Re: Mighty No. 9 Studio Comcept Facing Fan Backlash Over Community Manager Appointment

@Dave24 They can be done well. Look at Samus, Peach, Chun-Li (to a lesser degree, sure), and Lara Croft. All are mainstay names for gamers everywhere, and are female. The point is to make a good character, not force one down our throats like Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII.

Also, yes, Peach is a GOOD female character. She gets the point across and the job done, as designed. At this point, you can't even imagine Mario games without Peach being that damsel in distress. As a female character, she's actually an important piece of the Mario franchise, just like how Yoshi's the steed, Luigi's the lesser bro., Bowser's the villain, so on and so on. To cover bases, Rosalina can handle herself much better than Peach can (and save the universe by stopping a black hole with a crap ton of Lumas and becoming an entity of sorts), so for that, I say Peach is a good character.

@mookysam Although, in that case, that same reviewer sounds a crap ton like this woman RIGHT NOW. There's blurred lines here, whether people admit it or not. I am the first to put down games like Dragon's Crown and Senran Burst for how they depict women, but I'm also smart enough to know that bringing in women's rights into every single aspect of gaming in such a non-subtle manner changes it from a nice sentiment to being stupidly annoying. There's a time and place, and maybe she would have done better if she wasn't being all loud about it.

Re: Luigi Actor Danny Wells Takes The Great Warp Pipe To The Sky, Aged 72

NINTENCHIP

@Mario500 Wow...just goes to show two things.

1) Mario's appeal was hella-strong.

2) Nintendo has money like "DAMN" if they can pull the plug on a winning show because they were just "done" with it. Not sure if I admire their focus in what they're doing, or if I'm flabbergasted by their lunacy in doing that. Either way...wow...

Re: Pokémon X & Y Online Battles Vulnerable to "Battle Analyser" Cheaters

NINTENCHIP

@Bulby It's a slippery slope. First people hack to make Pokemon because they "could have" made them that way legitimately, then they start doing this because it's "not hurting anyone else" or "they could have made that move". NO cheating is justified in a competitive environment. Not the raising part, not the battling part, not the trading part. It's hard to stay positive about Pokemon's online scene when people love to ruin it all the time.

Re: First Impressions: Stardust Amazoness

@Falchion It's not sexist against women. It IS using sex appeal as an obvious method to get people to buy this otherwise poorly presented (and most likely bad) game. It's standard otaku-bait affair, but that's not usually "good" for non-otakus...which is most people. >_>

I mean, I like anime and junk, but if you're gonna feed me pron as a reason to buy a game, why wouldn't I just go watch pron and play a better game?

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Clarifies That Local Multiplayer is Still the Priority for Mario

NINTENCHIP

Online co-op multiplayer in platformers isn't exactly the best thing for a polished experience. Saying "Nintendo needs to get with the times" clearly shows a lack of interest in quality control. I'd rather they wait until they're confident they can pull it off, rather than shove it in just because. Not EVERY dang game needs online multi-player. Sometimes, it just makes the game worse, like the new Batman.

Re: Monster Hunter 4 Ships Over Two Million Copies in Four Days

NINTENCHIP

@Peach64 Exactly, cause it doesn't "grab" anyone. You try it once or twice, get into the bigger fights, and it slowly converts you. When you start getting into bigger hunts like the infamous Rathalos or the Zinogre, you'll realize that no one should be without the never-ending grind that is Monster Hunter.

Seriously, this s*** is good.

Re: Talking Point: Marketing Wii U to the Masses

NINTENCHIP

Step One for pushing the Wii U: Look back at those "Wii would like to play" commercials, take notes, and do THAT again. A lot.

Make people understand that this isn't an add-on. It's a new console, it's cheaper than the PS4 and Xbox One. It's got great games on it already, and more to come, and they should buy it so they can play with U. Push this product like you did with the Wii. When those commercials were coming out, that was most motivated I've ever seen Nintendo's advertising.

Re: Reggie Has Seen The Xbox One And PS4 Launch Lineups, And He Says "Meh"

NINTENCHIP

Wow, the man's got balls of steel to say that.

Sure, Nintendo gets CoD, but it DOESN'T get Battlefield, among a decent amount of other 3rd party games. The 3DS will do fine, as it ALWAYS has. The issue is the Wii U. If Mario Kart 8 had came out this holiday season, along with a Zelda game (like the freaking Wii did), we'd have ourselves a match. But Zelda's 2015 at best, and MK8 is next year along with Smash and the mystery IP. The issue is that those three franchises are the biggest hitters, and they aren't dropping at the right times.
