My love for Splatoon, and online games in general, ended last month when I realised who stressed and anxious I was feeling after playing. I just hope the next game has big focus on local multiplayer and single player modes.
The DLC has been amazing, but it is starting to feel the same over and over again at this stage. After the second free title update, are people doing the research quests? They feel super grindy!
Grinding, grinding, and more grinding! It is nice to have more stuff in the game... But imagine having created a full armor set with all your favorite abilities just to find a new piece of armor that you like better.
I am putting all my effort into this game and MH Rise, but after this generation, I will be done with online "grindy" games.
@MarioLazor 100% agree. After completing the game in New Game+ and levelling all colonies to max I feel this is a good game. That's it. I still don't understand why people are going crazy for it.
Side quests are "meh". Yes, they try to add a bit of story, but if these stories are not interesting, I will simply skip them. The battle system has nothing special, XBC2 was more complex, but it involves more strategy and planning in exchange for bigger satisfaction.
The sound is very good with a mix of the first two games. The story is weird, it has some highs and lows, but it never got me too excited and this is my major complaint. Philosophical questions are great, but after some point in the game everything feels too repetitive and uninteresting. And yes, cutscenes are waaay too long sometimes.
Qurious Crafting is too grindy. After the last update, if you did not have a research lvl of 100, you could not access the new materials to continue increasing your lvl.
@PapaGarv I have the exact same opinion. I see all the excitement now, but I wanna see how the opinion towards this game changes after people experience it and have grown a mature opinion.
It looks unpolished and rushed and I really don't like the design of the characters or the new Pokemons. I made a mistake buying Shield and Brilliant Diamond and I don't wanna make another mistake here.
Feels like Splatoon 2 all over again. Some nice improvements and the katana-style weapon looks amazing, but after putting 250 hours into Splatoon 2 and reaching S rank in all modes + octo expansion to think it will be all the same is not worth it at least for me. Maybe in the future I will get it, but not at launch...
I wonder if this one will have New Game + from day one or if it will be like in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 where it became available after a couple of months.
Not a big fan of the idea to be honest as you will need to do all the sidequests again...

Re: Review: Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe - A Suitably Dreamy Encore For One Of Kirby's Best
I already own Kirby Star Allies. Is there a point in buying this one? They feel the same.

Why all anime characters look the same nowadays? > _ <
Re: Poll: Would You Pay $70 For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
Smash Ultimate was more expensive than other games when it came out in 2018 and nobody complaint
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (January 28th)
Smash, Splatoon 3 and some 007 and Mario Party 2

Re: Nintendo Announces New Child-Led YouTube Series, 'Kids Play!'
@steely_pete if Nintendo is a brand that plays an important part of their childhood, when they grow up they will buy Nintendo again
Re: Nintendo Announces New Child-Led YouTube Series, 'Kids Play!'
Saw the image and got excited thinking this was a Superstars DLC...
Re: Bowser Jr. And Birdo Star In Mario Strikers: Battle League's Third Free Update
Nice additions that should have been on day 1. What makes them think this free update model works? Missing the days we had everything at day 1

I got some 90's - early 00's vibe while reading this magazine

Re: Capcom Reveals Meaty Patch Notes For Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak's Next Update
Why can't we just have all this in one single update? That way people can plan what they want to craft from day one.
Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass Wave 3 Launches Next Month
Cool to be able to play the 3DS tracks. However, comparing these tracks to the original MK8, in terms of graphics, is still a big disappointment.

Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Director Reveals New Info About Title Update 3
Qurious Crafting is too grindy. After the last update, if you did not have a research lvl of 100, you could not access the new materials to continue increasing your lvl.
Besides that... Sunbreak has been amazing!
Re: Splatoon 3 Announces A Pokémon-Themed Splatfest, Coming In November
No Halloween Splatfest? Please don't make Splatfest another marketing strategy to promote other games...
Re: Super Sonic Shines In New Sonic Frontiers Trailer
Looks meh... Gave Sonic multiple chances to impress me, but it always felt like a cheap franchise with a lot of potentials.
Adventure 2 Battle is still the best despite all its flaws
Re: Talking Point: What Do You Want To See At Tomorrow's Nintendo Direct Showcase?
I will have no expectations for this one. So... impress me...

For me, Pokemon lost its shine after Gen 3
Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Trailer Introduces Us To Rival Team, Victory Road, And More
Sword and Shield all over again. Going back to play Gen 2 and 3 again...
Re: Nintendo Confirms That Splatoon 3's Shiver Identifies As Female
@Hackermon I totally agree. I thought the same about Disney, but then you see all the nonsense they have created these years
Re: Nintendo Confirms That Splatoon 3's Shiver Identifies As Female
Last week, my comment (like many others) got banned for saying the truth about how Japan does not care about non - binary and these "modern trends".
Guess someone from Nintendo Life needs to apologize
Re: Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Smashes Past 4 Million Sales Worldwide
300 hours of gameplay already and they will keep adding new quests every week at least until the end of 2023. Definitely worth buying!

Re: Nintendo Direct For Splatoon 3 Confirmed For This Week
After 250 hours into Splatoon 2 I might skip this one... Would be interesting to see how different is this 3rd instalment
Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Trailer Unveils Region Name And New Mechanics
This is basically Sword and Shield all over again. After Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Gamefreak has no excuse for poor quality graphics and animations...
