This was one of my all time favorite games on the 64! I didn't care too much for the single player, but the multi-player was awesome! My favorite tank was the Rattler!
You know, I haven't heard anything about them putting a level creator in these games like they did in Brawl. I hope they bring it back though. At least on the Wii U version.
While I don't think the claims of racism in the game has any merit, I am one of those people that hates what they've done to the battle mode. After racing a few Grand Prixs I like to have something else to do in the game that doesn't involve racing. To me the stock-match cart battles added more to a game that, for me at least, gets old quick.
@Dreamz I would also like to see laws implemented that would require a patent holder to use a patent in some regard within a certain time limit. This way companies couldn't put out patents just to try and keep competitors from using the technology. Obviously, such laws would require some fine tuning.
Since this game apparently doesn't have any under water battles I'm fine with it being only on the 3DS. With MH3U I played it mostly on the 3DS except for water battles, I had to play those on the Wii U because fighting under water on the 3DS without a second analog stick is infuriating.
I'll be curious to see how the game plays on the 3DS. I remember back when I was a little one I would dream of taking Smash with me where ever I went. I may have to splurge and pick up an XL when this game comes out.
I really like my Wii U, I find its hardware capabilities perfectly acceptable and while I was sort of turned off by the tablet controller at first, I have grown to appreciate it. It's not my favorite controller by any means, but it works. My only complaint about the Wii U is the same complaint a lot of people have, there's just a poor selection of games out there. I'd be playing the system a lot more if there were more games that interested me. If Nintendo could somehow find a way to pull third party companies back in I think the Wii U could live out its life with a reasonable amount of success.
Of course, given the Wii U's sub par performance thus far, I wonder what Nintendo's next home console will be like? I'm sure they will once again try to design something that challenges the status quo of gaming, which is something I welcome, but to be honest I would love it if Nintendo released something that blew Sony and Microsoft out of the water as far as hardware capability is concerned.
I think, as I'm sure many do, the Wii U's poor sales record is only a matter of not having enough games coming out for it. Once more first party games become available I think there will be an increase in sales, but if Nintendo can somehow reel the third party companies back in, sales could sky rocket. But winning back the third party companies is easier said then done as many of them constantly cater to the more powerful machines and see Nintendo's relatively underpowered system as a hassle. Not to mention that Nintendo would likely shy away from carrying the more mature games that dominate on the other consoles because they don't fit with Nintendo's ideals.
I read somewhere that the execs at Nintendo can't comprehend why violent video games are so popular in the west and why people are so obsessed with the most powerful hardware. They make games to be fun and they make games based on that idea instead of just making games based on what the consumer wants like Sony and Microsoft do. I just think there is a sort of disconnect between Nintendo and the rest of the video game industry. They seem to be stuck in the past age of gaming when it was more about the experience rather than the graphics and hardware.
I love having the pointer controls. I do so much better with the wiimote than with the a controller. I played BO2 on both the wii U and the 360 and I did far better on the Wii U. Prestiged in half the time it took on the 360 and had a k/d ratio double that of my 360 k/d.
If the next pokemon games were simplified back to the level of the original Red and Blue games I might look into playing them again. The latest games seem like too much work to get a strong pokemon. Then again, I was one of those players that assembled a team based on how cool they looked rather than any sort of strategy. Probably why I never made it past the pokemon league in any of my games.
We got the balance board for my mother to use and she's used it all of twice. She claimed that turning on the console and getting Wii Fit started and the balance board set up was too complicated for her.
Why!? Why would they put Sonic back in? As far as I know everyone hated Sonic in Brawl. His moves were clunky and awkward and his final smash was over powered when wielded by a computer and nearly unusable when used by a human player.
Bethesda is one of my favorite game companies, but at the same time they frustrate me to no end. It just bothers me that they talk like the Wii U is leagues below them and show no interest whatsoever in working with Nintendo. Even if they were to release a legendary edition of Skyrim on Wii U and it didn't sell much, I'm sure Bethesda has enough income from other platforms to cushion the blow. As it stands, the only way I'll ever be able to play their upcoming games is if they release them for Wii U. I don't have the money for a gaming PC, playing games on pc's is too much a pain in the butt anyway, and I'm not going to buy a new xbox just for one game.
I'm hoping they adopt a more open world gameplay style for the next Zelda game. Everyone always said the series was all about exploration, but I've never felt that way. The fact that you had to do dungeons in a certain order and the lack of many things to do outside the main quest line made the games always feel sort of linear in my mind. I never got that "exploration" feel. I would love to see us be able to do the dungeons in the order we choose and have enough to do outside of them to where we could play for hours and not touch the main quest line.
@GazPlant It's a perfectly logical reason, but the problem is that the lack of gamers stems, mainly, from the lack of games. It goes in loop, publishers won't publish games on a console that isn't supported by gamers, but gamers won't support a console unless publishers put out games they want on that console. If the first titles released on a console don't bring in a large enough crowd the whole system kind of falls flat with publishers.
@SteveW I agree with you. All those different menus Skyrim has would be much more manageable with the gamepad and I can imagine them making the lock picking make use of the touch screen. I've played though skyrim on the 360 three times, but I would definitely buy it and play again if it came to the WiiU.
I'm a Kirby user, so I feel safe that my primary choice is safe. My second favorite, Marth, I'd like to see return. I really don't care who else gets dropped. I would like to see Krystal put in instead of Falco or Wolf, but that's it.
I was so looking forward to this game! It's been forever since I played a Wolfenstein game, but it would appear my dreams have once again failed to fall into place.

Re: Feature: A Round-Up of the Best Nintendo-Related April Fools' Pranks
They got me with the Nintendo VR. It looked really good! I hate April Fools day.

Heh, Fox has little baby legs!

Re: Nintendo's Expensive New Development Building Isn't Very Exciting
This building definitely speaks to Nintendo's more humble nature in the video game industry.
Re: Activision Fires Free Fall DLC Onto Call of Duty: Ghosts for Wii U
I'm just shocked that a COD game got any kind of DLC on a Nintendo Console. Too bad I don't own and do not plan to own Ghosts.

Re: Diddy Kong Confirmed as the Latest New Challenger for Super Smash Bros.
@BAGBOY Considering Yoshi is one of the original characters I'd be shocked if he wasn't in the game. Falco and Ganon are less certain.
Re: Capcom's Monster Hunter Invades Universal Studios Japan
I would definitely stop by that exhibition if Ohio was just a smidge closer to Japan.
Re: Kirby: Triple Deluxe Remains Number One in Japan as Hardware Sales Dip
I want this game so much! It looks to be similar in gameplay style to Kirby and the Crystal Shards, which my favorite Kirby game of all time.

Re: Feature: A Week of Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Screens - Issue Thirteen
That galaxy stage will be a big disappointment if it does not use some of the funky gravity effects they used in the games.
This is the only game I'm looking forward to at the moment.
Re: Video: This Is Why CoD: Ghosts Is Best on Wii U
@InternetFurret I have a DA account. My avatar is part of the second mlp-related pic I've drawn.
I see. I might have to go back and look closer because, as I said, I couldn't tell a difference.
Re: Video: This Is Why CoD: Ghosts Is Best on Wii U
@InternetFurret Thank you, it's part of a larger picture that I made.
I didn't think the aim assist even worked with the wiimote. I turned it on once and couldn't tell if it was doing anything or not.
