They used a clip from the 2ds clip, they pronounce it 2ds there not 2dees. Same for the 3ds.

I think it's the consumers' fault for not knowing that it's a new system. I mean with all the commercials and ads they better know the difference. It's not like the name is confusing or anything, right?

The name isn't the sole reason, but it does play a role.

I share your concern. But the image shows some promising characters. But the game might not make it west, so in a way it doesn't matter.

Why are people displeased with this?
Sure it looks bad, but the 3DS and 3DS XL still exist.
This will be another, cheaper option. I rarely use the 3D on my 3DS as most people. It makes sense since the 3D is an extra cost, of if they remove it and it's cost to make a lower price device.

Could it possibly be Nintendo's fault? I know the low install base and possible loss names these developers not want to spend more money and time. But did Nintendo do nothing?
I think it's Nintendo's fault for the poor system launch and the direction they're talking their gaming. But I do hope they stop making stripped down version of game for the wii u.

I think Nintendo should do their Directs this way. I know they like to remain secretive. But having one large Direct with so many announcements is great and all, but for a short period of time and then it's followed by a drought of news. I think they should spread them out like this.
I also agree with Thomas, my attitude towards this game up until yesterday was "meh" and now I am seriously interested in it.
Can anyone tell me about the demo? Was it any good?

I'm keeping my expectations low so I don't get disappointed.

I'm surprised they didn't do that. The only game they put ads for was sing, they were mediocre ads for a mediocre game. Nothing else. Their marketing is one of the worse that I've seen.

I hate the character design. I'm glad this didn't end up becoming a thing.

It is not. It's sad actually. But for a while it was not outselling it.

Wii U is not selling well, but at least it outsold the ps3. Being outsold by the vita in Japan might not be so bad since its handheld market is bigger than home console market. Though I doubt the Wii U will continue outselling the ps3 until a big game comes out.

There would be a problem if Nintendo, or any other publisher, bought them and the developers left the company.

Sure it would be great. But atlus games dont always sell millions of copies, that might not be appealing to Nintendo. At least I hope if they but them, they don't have them make other games like platformers.

My worry is that if Nintendo buys them, then Nintendo will consider their games not that great selling and have atlus work on something else. I doubt it, but it's possible.

I already have the game preordered. And now I can get 30 bucks from the promotion that I didn't know about. This is awesome.

@Beta I am not insecure about myself, and I wouldn't use as game's rating to try and prove otherwise. I also dislike nudity and sex in games. I do like a games rated for everyone, I actually enjoy them more. But as a grown man I often want a game to be somewhat mature, I am talking about the themes in the game. Something like eternal darkness. I just want varity of games. With fire emblem almost cancelled and no f zero, metroid, star Fox, or advance wars we are pretty much going to have Mario in every game and zelda. I love those games but it is not enough. Also I

I was holding on buying a wii u waiting for fire emblem. It is my favorite nintendo franchise. If they aren't going to make it, then there is nothing for me on the wii u. I can live without zelda. The fact that they're not making f zero is not helping either.

Well, considering how Nintendo puts no effort in advertising the Wii U or 3DS, it isn't very surprising that they would turn down free publicity. As @HaNks said, with the new game coming out, it makes less sense for them to do so.

I understand Nintendo wants to be protective over its franchises and rights, but I don't think they should shut the fan community to do so. I can't see any benefit from Nintendo in doing this.

My guess, however, is that EVO contacted Nintendo of America and they denied it because the person who works there might've not known what EVO is. They probably didn't study it thoroughly. But it's Nintendo we're talking about, they have been doing lots of, dare I say, stupid things lately.
