Re: This GoldenEye 007 Wristwatch Is For Your Eyes Only

Kagamine

I picked up a watch identical to that last year for 7.99. I wonder if it is the same or if they improved the quality because that is a huge price difference. For anyone interested the watch I got still works perfect but by no means is it high quality.

Re: Nintendo Wanted To Take A Different Approach To DLC With New Super Luigi U

Kagamine

@SetupDisk I'm not saying it's a worse value, I'm saying is that the gaming industry is moving away from things like this and once again Nintendo is trailing behind. I personally agree that Expansion packs are a much better value, but I prefer smaller DLC. Take Borderlands 2 for example, it has a TON of DLC. All in bite size packages that i can buy when and if I want for a cheap price. Then if i want it all I can buy the Season Pass which is super cheap and includes it all. The season pass is a way better value than any expansion pack if I want all the content and smaller DLC lets me pick and choose if I only want a few pieces.

Re: 3DS eBook App Details Emerge in Japan

Kagamine

I can't see this coming West ever. It doesn't make sense to bother publishing it here. Very few users would utilize it. Most adults have a smartphone or tablet to read on if they don't want physical books. The major publishers already have a perfectly effective way to distribute their digital books, why waste time on another platform. It makes sense in Japan because so many people have a 3DS, but the same is not true in the US.

Re: Soapbox: Why Region Locking Is A Total Non-Issue

Kagamine

@Gridatttack Currently the WiiU is the only console I own that I can't unlock, but given some recent efforts I've seen I can't imagine it taking to much longer. The 3DS has an unlock method that's not all that popular right now though, it's still a bit buggy.

Re: Soapbox: Why Region Locking Is A Total Non-Issue

Kagamine

I don't see why this is such a big deal. If anybody wants to import games they are probably willing to go through the effort of unlocking their console. I won't go into methods but it's not even that hard to do. If importing means so much to you just take the extra step and put some more effort into it.

I've imported games for multiple systems before and the region locking isn't hard to get around. Most people will never feel the effects of region locking, just those that are involved in the community like the patrons of this site. Most of us have the knowledge on how to get around region locking and/or we have another console and don't feel short on releases.

Re: Review: Fast & Furious: Showdown (Wii U)

Kagamine

@hydeks are you sure your talking about the same Walking Dead game? I don't see anyway anyone could enjoy Survival Instinct. As for this game, never planned on buying it, looks like I made the right choice. The review was excellently written, nice job.

Re: Chasing Aurora Receives Permanent Price Reduction In North America And Europe

Kagamine

@DrKarl I'm aware. But i never give any of the money to charity, all to the Developers. I would never buy any of those games separately so they aren't losing money by my not paying 25 bucks. Most people I know will either buy the bundles for 1 dollar, or go on right when it changes to try and get the locked items for as little as possible such as $1.54. When it comes to PC games I watched my money closely, I don't see how utilizing Humble Bundle is such a way is something I should be ashamed of.

Re: Chasing Aurora Receives Permanent Price Reduction In North America And Europe

Kagamine

This is great and all, but still can't beat Indie prices on PC. Humble Bundles have made me very frugal with how i spend my money on indie games. Got Little Inferno and a bunch of other games recently for under 8 bucks, the eshop could never beat that. to all those curious, check out Humblebundle.com for that deal, theres two great bundles going on right now, Telltale Bundle and Indie Bundle 8.

Re: Nintendo Issues Statement on Wii U Hacking Attempt

Kagamine

@Shane904 I could see them banning for hard modded consoles, but I hope they wouldn't ban a soft mod. Hard mods like this I do not agree with. While it is well within their right to modify the console, it is clear they are only doing it to play pirated games (In this instance). Unfortunately a hard mod will most likely come way before a soft mod, once again giving hackers an even worse name.

Re: Review: Injustice: Gods Among Us (Wii U)

Kagamine

@RikuzeYre I really Really want to post a facepalm picture at you right now, but as I know the rules here it will only be replaced with a picture of an animal. Those things you mentioned, browser and TVii, have nothing to do with the online infrastructure, those are just apps. MiiVerse on the other hand is a part of the Online infrastructure, but still not what I'm talking about...

Re: Review: Injustice: Gods Among Us (Wii U)

Kagamine

@Linky_97 Ya I do own a WiiU am am quite pleased, but as I also own a 360 and PS3 I have to respectfully disagree. And if Nintendos online takes extra work I don't blame devs for not having great online at launch. Why should tjay delay the game in order to finish the online for WiiU. I could understand if they only delayed the WiiU version, but then you all would whine about that too.

Re: Review: Injustice: Gods Among Us (Wii U)

Kagamine

@SilentHunter382
Hey, noones making you buy it on WiiU. If the missing feature is that big of a deal buy it on 360 or PS3. Not that hard. Maybe if Nintendo didn't have such bad online infrastructure it would have been present at launch. Quit yelling at 3rd parties because they won't put in extra time and money for a single platform. I personally find the lacking features to be the fault of Nintendos online infrastructure being so far behind, feature lacking, and overall too different to work easily with.

Re: Review: Injustice: Gods Among Us (Wii U)

Kagamine

@pinkspider I dont know for sure, but i have seen on other forums that it is better.

for all those complaining about the online, there is an incoming patch soon, maybe that and dlc are in the patch. I cant beleive you are all so pissed at a few missing features, Its still a good game.

Re: First-Person Puzzler QUBE Is Coming To The Wii U eShop

Kagamine

I own this on Steam, It's really quite good. For anyone who was turned off by the demo, it gets a lot more interesting in the later levels, the demo doesn't do them justice. I might pick this up if there's some cool new features or levels. otherwise O'' stick to it on Steam.

Re: Pandora's Tower Release Date Announced for North America

Kagamine

@Urbanhispanic In all fairness, both games received varied reviews, but to me TLS felt very limited by the Wii, the environments left much to be desired and most of the game centers in a single location. The story wasn't as interesting to me and it was far too predictable. It wasn't compelling enough to keep me playing, where as Pandoras Tower was engaging and kept me interested the entire time. I personally would never recommend TLS to anyone, and is one of my least favorite Wii games, I've even thought about selling it (and I've never sold a game before). But don't let that put you away from it, my brother loves it and many others do too.

Re: Nintendo To Reveal Its Web Framework For Wii U At GDC

Kagamine

I know i would find it useful if I was making my PC games for WiiU, sadly I won't benefit from this because i don't think i could ever get my stuff published on the WiiU.I'm wondering how widely available the information will become. Will it only be available to those at the conference, or will it become public?

Re: Review: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U)

Kagamine

I have to agree with @Tony_342 the controls felt clunky. I like my controls to be tight and responsive, and yet I didn't get that feeling from any of the characters. I usually don't mind repetitive combat as long as i can switch up combos and have fun seeing what kind of kills I can pull off. I didn't get that at all in this game. The combat just didn't feel fun. I don't know how much different basic combat could be between demo and real game.

Re: Review: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U)

Kagamine

Great review, but I will be skipping this. I usually love the genre, but the demo left me EXTREMELY disappointed. I don't know whats missing for me, but i just couldn't get into it.To be honest, after I played the demo, my first thought was, "Why did they make this suck so much?" I thought for sure most would have thought the same, but the forums here showed me otherwise. Guess it's just not the game for me. Oh well, got plenty of other games to buy this time of the year.

Re: Team Meat: We'd Work With Nintendo If Meat Boy Made It Into Smash Bros.

Kagamine

Wow, a lot of negativity towards Team Meat. Personally I love these guys, especially Edmund. I played the crap outta Super Meat Boy and The Basement Collection, They are great developers. I really wish Nintendo would reach out to them, not necessairly for Smash Bros., but to help them get some of their games on WiiU or 3DS. Also, check these guys out in Indie Game: The Movie, they were great to watch.

Re: Hyperkin's RetroN 4 To Support SNES, Genesis, NES and GBA Software

Kagamine

I have the RetroN 3 and each of the original consoles, but i much prefer using my RetroN 3 because it reads the games much easier and faster. With the NES I might have to take the games in and out 10 times before it works, rarely happens on RetroN 3. SO GBA games is the next step up, if it plays GBC and GB games along with it it will be an instant buy, if it doesn't I will have to think about whether or not it's worth the upgrade.

Re: "Modified" Version of Deus Ex: Human Revolution Classified by Australian Ratings Board

Kagamine

This is an awesome game and I really hope it comes to Wii U. I already own it on my PC but more people deserve to enjoy this game. It's an awesome experience, pretty much my favorite shooter. Although @Jellitoe has a point, the game is incredibly cheap on steam, but not everyone has a powerful enough computer to run it. Which makes a possible Wii U version the only way for those who only own Nintendo consoles to play.

Re: Nintendo Hints At An Additional Platform In The Future

Kagamine

Hmm, it's probably nothing, but if it is something fingers crossed for a Nintendo Phone. Android based, with exclusive apps (By that Imean e-shop games). As long as it retains functionality with regular android apps, and it fairly powerful, you have got yourself a pre-order Nintendo.

To bad it won't be happening... sigh
