Although I really should "finish" Rune Factory 4 Special in the meanwhile, loved what I played of it, but never got to see even the end of the story because I got distracted by other games...

Not surprising seeing Metroid Prime not do as well in Japan as elsewhere (although it would be interesting seeing the digital sales considering that version came out first) so I'm happy to see it at least made it in the top 10!

Fatal Frame, Paranormasight and Ib are intriguing, but horror games are definitely not my forte so I'll probably skip them.
Trails to Azure eventually (have to get and play at least Trails from Zero first), maybe Figment 2 (still have to play the first one) and Oni (waiting on reviews first like @Nanami_Ataraxia)!

Decapolice keeps on being really cool, Fantasy Life has online multiplayer (one of the reasons for the "i" in the title), Megaton Musashi has crossplay and classic mecha like Mazinger etc., Layton looks promising and I'm so happy the series is back (should've seen coming that for "New World" they meant America) and last but not least Inazuma Eleven where "everyone is here!" (around 4500 characters is incredible)!

One of the best waves so far if not the best considering the highs are really high and the lows aren't that low (Riverside looks stunning and the Ptooies are a nice addition while I agree with the review about DS Mario Circuit)!

@mcdreamer Even more perplexing when they could share a family plan with friends and pay only €10/$10 etc. a year. Of course it would be better if there were an option to buy the games for those interested, but the complaints are definitely exaggerated.
Anyway, I also haven't finished this game (I've only played it on emulator back in the day and then got distracted by other games) so I'm looking forward to do so eventually now that it's on Switch Online!

Happy it's back for those of you from the US and that this is the reason why it was unavailable, at least it will be easier for people to tell it's related to Gal Gun!

@TYRANACLES I guess you mean Luigi's Mansion King Boo , because the regular one is already in the game, they added him in Deluxe (he would be more of a costume then so unless we're getting some of those it's highly unlikely).
On the other hand, SNES Mario, being already in Tour and quite different from regular Mario, could happen!

My picks would be:
-Kamek because of his history with the Mario Kart series (let him finally in Nintendo);
-Pauline, want to see her become a regular in Mario spin-offs with the occasional mainline appearance just like Rosalina did;
-Petey Piranha, they added King Boo to Deluxe and so it would be cool if they added his Double Dash partner through this (and it's the most likely one if they're really going to release characters related to the new non-city tracks because of Piranha Plant Cove);
-at least one Kong, personally would like to see Diddy the most;
-Either King Bob-omb or Nabbit, although like I said I wouldn't mind an extra Kong or even one of the regular enemies (preferably Chargin' Chuck)!

Yoshi's Island, not only the attention to detail is insane, but it's a really fun track to race on, too!

@TheBigBlue Couldn't agree more, overall this wave is so good (Yoshi's Island is my favorite track of it if not even of the whole pass like you) AND they even added a new character along with while announcing we're getting more of those (five judging by the extra spaces) in future waves, too!

@JJtheTexan Samus Returns I seriously doubt and certainly not in the near future considering it's a 3DS game, but I really hope they'll eventually put Zero Mission on Switch Online, that remake is awesome!
@Vil Really hope Zero Mission will be in the next batch of upcoming games, but luckily we know that Amazing Mirror is coming and I'm so happy that's the case, especially considering it will have local and online multiplayer!

@TheBigBlue @JaxonH Couldn't agree more with you two, while it would be nice to have the option to buy these games for those interested the complaints are exaggerated considering you can have all of these games for around $10/€10 etc. a year by sharing a family plan!

One thing not mentioned by the rundown is the addition of absolutely hilarious food weapons that you can also eat in a pinch (but unfortunately lose by doing so), can't wait to get them all!

Although I have to say that the Hands On here on Nintendo Life already gave us an idea of the game being way more substantial, at least up to a certain point, than what some people immediately believed because of the style, it being a spin-off etc.
Of course it's wise to wait for full reviews to give you a better idea if this game is for you or not, what I don't get is why people are jumping the gun, especially in this game's case.

Looking forward to this DLC since I've been having fun slowly playing through the base game (will go back to it as soon as they fix the actual game breaking bug introduced by the patch, the game was fine enough for me before that), especially Part 1 since it seems to be based Momotarō and I suspect also Setsubun considering both oni and masks are involved!

Would be nice if the deluxe edition were available also in Europe since I still haven't bought the game, but if it doesn't ever come I might get at least the manual which luckily is already confirmed for Europe!

It being somewhat linear while still rewarding exploration is a plus for me, will definitely get this game eventually!

This sucks, hope it will soon be available again for those of you from the US!

Since I doubt they'll be able to patch performance much more (and honestly shouldn't if it causes actual game breaking bugs like we've just seen) I'll take any quality of life feature instead (the addition of being able to change nicknames, moves etc. in boxes has been invaluable for me) like the option to mass release Pokémon, the shiny jingle or others like those suggested by various previous comments!

@TheBigBlue @JONOFTHEJONS Love to see some love for Arlo on this site for a change, he's an overall great Nintendo YouTuber (yeah, unfortunately have to agree about Nin10doland)!

@Dezzy70 Let's not forget about Bowser's Fury even if it was bundled together with 3D World. You might not count it as a new 3D Mario game, but I bet Nintendo do (as they most certainly do in Mario Maker 2's case for 2D ones).
Have to agree about DK so I'd expect to see that over a new 3D Mario... unless they're saving one or both for the Switch's successor.

@KingOhger @Jokerwolf Unfortunately don't have Supersonic Warriors 1, only have played it on emulator, but I do have 2 and loved both so yes to a new one (and wouldn't mind a port of at least the first one on Switch or its successor in one way or the other)!

@Ulysses I know way too well the sentiment, since I already had Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U I didn't buy Deluxe on Switch... until they announced the Booster Course Pass which I had thanks to NSO+, too XD
Anyway, it really just depends on what you'd like to play first, because judging from what you said I definitely recommend getting both eventually.
By the way, I don't mind buying any game digitally when they have good discounts, but I still buy a lot of games physically, especially first-parties, for collection, potentially lend them to friends and also because most of the time I preorder them on sale from a trusty retailer here in Italy!

Further confirmation that I eventually have to play at least Zero and now this because I can't keep on missing out on such a good series!

The concept is great, looks really good visually, but the layout is practically nonexistent, making this almost impossible to actually race on!
As others said they should've put barriers, arrows etc. to delimit the actual track to make it much, much better gameplaywise.

@KingOhger Not as bad as corrupting save files, but from what I've heard in Origami King you could permanently lose a Toad and even couldn't progress the game if you did certain things at those points of the game.
Luckily they eventually (not sure exactly how long it took) patched those bugs and even people affected by them could resume playing the game as intended.

I think I only have the Mario amiibo that aren't part of the Smash series.
Wouldn't mind getting the remaining ones at some point, but they definitely have lower priority for me compared to other amiibo.

Love to see Budokai Tenkaichi back, had a lot of fun playing 2 and 3 on Wii!
Like others I hope it will have a large roster like the previous games, other than for it to be good and to come to Switch or its successor of course.

3D World itself is great platforming fun in both single and multiplayer, plus there's Bowser's Fury which is completely new and is arguably even better if shorter, a fantastic combination of 3D World and Odyssey.
Mario Kart is great, but while there is single player content in the form of cups, time trials etc. it's mostly a multiplayer game. From the start you get the base game and what used to be DLC on Wii U, but you can much further expand the number of tracks if you buy the Booster Course Pass or get it with the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack.

Yeah, definitely not getting it at full price, but at a good discount yes because the Fist of the North Star theme is cool, I still find the combination as hilarious as the first time I saw it during that Direct and I really need a good excuse to convince myself to exercise more regularly!
@paya Great additions to the review and good to know about the voices, if it's the same for the European version I'll eventually get it from the Japanese eShop instead!

I was already interested in this game and even more so after reading this interview, hope Nintendo Life will also review it and if the final product is good or hopefully even better I'll eventually get it!
@Nanami_Ataraxia Should be a roguelite (luckily for you and me too, I also much prefer roguelites to roguelikes) according to the interview itself: "It became more important to focus on the experience of players who weren’t yet familiar with our game or with roguelites at all, really."

@FaroreAbhorsen Requiring two Switches to play single player games seems too much of a requirement so (3)DS titles are iffy in my opinion.
Wii U ones like this one, Nintendo Land etc., on the other hand, are multiplayer games so it's way more likely to have two systems, not to mention that Super Mario Party already does it for a side mode!

Other than that, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe keeps on selling which is no surprise, even more so considering Wave 4 is coming out really soon, while I'm happy just like @Axecon to see Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe immediately behind it!

The 3DS was my trusty companion throughout the first part of university (i.e. to earn a bachelor's degree) commuting, although more for its music player than its games since I preferred playing those at home most of the time (which doesn't mean I didn't play it a lot, most of the games I got - and they're a fair number - I've at least played if not finished or even completed).
Of course I also brought it along as much as possible because of StreetPass and it even gave me the chance to meet some new people at StreetPass Meetings here in Italy!
While I overall prefer the Switch because of its massive library, no region locking etc. the 3DS is definitely among my favorite Nintendo systems because of how undeniably charming it is (even without 3D since I can't properly see it) and so it's really sad to have to say farewell to it, although luckily the console and the games already on it aren't going anywhere until they break unlike cough games as a service cough!
Like other comments I really hope that now that the jump between separated home and handheld console to a hybrid system is done we'll go back to backward compatibility like Nintendo consoles used to, even better if it won't be just between the previous and the next system anymore!

@Porky Sigh not this again, we've just had Engage going through it.
Oh well, I'll eventually play it in my mother language Italian, but with Japanese voices (like I always do when they're available since I usually prefer them and to further polish my knowledge of the language) so I'll be able to tell if that version is based on the English one and so there are inconsistencies.

Still have to play it (and let's be honest, even those who started it as soon as it came out are far from finishing it, not to mention complete it so I agree with @the_beaver that it's too soon), but from all I've seen and heard, including Nintendo Life's review, a 9 - Excellent for me, it's like the first one but even better although I'd say not enough to call it Outstanding!

Still have to get it, but Blanc is definitely the one I'm looking forward the most between these.

@Vexx234 Have to admit that I'm partial to animated movies, too (even CGI ones which is why I'm so looking forward to the Mario one).
That said, don't mind live action ones either which is why I overall enjoyed Detective Pikachu!

Still have to watch both Sonic movies, but happy this one won nonetheless, have heard mostly good things about both of them!

Europe / North America since it better highlights this game's exclusive mechanic, although I quite like the contrast between Light and Twilight, especially how the latter looks like it does in game, in the Japanese box art.
Hope we'll get a Box Art Brawl for the Wii U version at some point!

@N-MCMXCIX I see where you're coming from, but Switch Online isn't cloud since you fully download the apps with the games and only need to connect to the internet after a week for them to check if you still have the membership.
That said, despite how much I personally dislike cloud games I agree that they should count for this list until they shut down.

This is one of the biggest reasons why I love the Switch so much, so many quality games throughout almost all videogame history (and almost every platform as @Serpenterror pointed out), not just Nintendo's!
Also why I really hope its successor will have backward compatibility, to expand on this incredible library instead of starting from scratch yet again.

@IronMan30 Good thing it was at least in a couple of Nintendo Directs including the usual demo with save transferring, I dare not think how much sales would've been hurt if that hadn't been the case!

@AlanaHagues There's a typo if you want correct it, "spome" instead of "spoke".
