Roughly a week after the big 10.0.0 system update for the Switch, Nintendo has now rolled out version 10.0.1. According to the official patch notes, this latest patch will improve the stability of the system.
General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
Your Nintendo Switch should automatically download this update while it's connected to the internet, otherwise, you can manually start it from the System Settings menu.
Last week's major update added button remapping, new data transfer options, and six new Animal Crossing: New Horizons icons. You can check out the full patch notes in our previous post.
Have you downloaded version 10.0.1 yet? Noticed anything else? Leave a comment down below.

I'm still having a blast remapping the gamecube controller to work with all my games on the switch. 10.0.0 was an amazing update for gamecube controller enthusiasts.
@Aurumonado
What kind of black magic are you using? When I tried remapping the GameCube controller, it said something like "this controller is not compatible for button remapping".
Oh so stable!
i wish I was that stable!
:'D
@OdnetninAges Ya it won't work with the wii u adaptor. I had to buy the 8bitdo GBros adaptor which tricks the switch into thinking that the GCN controller is a pro controller. It works perfectly and I have some great remaps for a hat in time and yooka laylee.
Get the horses ready! It's a sta-sta-STABILITY UPDATE!
Forget folder and themes, Stability is my only request for the Switch! And I'm happy that Nintendo is giving me my stability goodness!
Hi Nintendo, could we please get bluetooth support? 😩
Also noticed that in the eshop you can see game screenshots without actually clicking on a game,just hover over the game title and you'll see it, which helps so that you don't have to go in the games page to see what it looks like.
Stability again? How about performance for once? The eshop is especially slow, and it isn't even a game.
Get the Horse ready ... HomeBrew blocking.....
@Aurumonado I just gotta find an adapter that does the same thing for the Wii U. Trying to play through Super Smash Bros. Brawl again, and the PDP-made controller that I have and is shaped like a GameCube controller feels too bulky and the buttons are really stiff.
And before anyone says to just play it on a Wii, I can't. My Wii was fried when lightning struck our house several years ago, and I never got around to replacing it, so my Wii U will have to do.
So anyone know of an adapter aside from the official Nintendo one that allows me to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl using an actual GameCube controller, and not some lookalike knockoff?
hmmm.. I am guessing it might have something to do with patching the "Unauthorised Login Reports" that was posted like yesterday?
Here for the stability comments...which i enjoy
But my unit is very stable on the desktop already, why another stable fix?
You call that stability! My 3ds laughs at your puny stability!!
@graysoncharles Agreed, I don't understand how they can have a prefect eshop for the 3DS, but have a cumbersome one for the switch. Personally I dislike visiting the eshop unless it's for something I know I want. Removing reviews was just scummy and annoying.
Fantastic, I think my apartment floor isn’t level. I can use the Switch for stability.
Nintendo is rolling out the updates this week
This update is amazing. Transferring data is a godsend.
Great but as usual still no Themes. Why are they taking so long to add a feature that people have literally been screaming for since the system launched? just get on with it already :/
This feeling....I feel so....so......STABLE
My switch suffered its first crash a day or so after the 10.0 update was applied. Im assuming this will fix whatever it was that caused it.
I have noticed that before the 10.0.0 update, restoring the switch only took about 60 seconds but now since then it’s gone up to about 10 minutes, even when the System has just been wiped clean.
@TheLightSpirit especially since there's already a theme system in place, at this point I would just be glad with more colors
If only the world was as stable as the 3DS & Switch right now...
Awesome news. Stories of folk falling over while playing Switch Lite are becoming increasingly wide-spread. Thank you Nintendo.
@Aaron09 there is a reason why even the PS4 lacks that.
Hint: because of inputlag the controllers would have, same goes for Switch
Fixes controller issue. Would love proper update notes instead of just stability. Would stop all those annoying stability jokes or people questioning why yet another useless update.
MOTHERFATHER STABILITY !!!||!111||!11||!!!
@Beermonkey It kinds feels like whoever is doing the patch notes is just really lazy.
@Aurumonado
A bit a of a shame that you have to cheat the system like that, but great that it's possible.
That probably means a lot of stupid DK Bongo videos are one their way from various youtubers.
@MasterGraveheart
Given your icon, I'd assume your home's pretty stable!
@Bermanator yeah it is terrible, literally the worstonline shop i have used. The wii and wiiu are far quicker and smoother to operate. At times the switch eshop almost stops working.
How about giving us twitch???? it was rumoured two years ago.
@YANDMAN
Not possible man.
The games needs all the system memory, so multitasking is out of the question. The OS is just not build to multitask, only thing they could do is add twitch for watching streams, its impossible to play switch games and stream at the same time.
Have been playing my Wii U recently and have realised how much I like having folders. Also liked the background music when browsing the Wii U eShop.
Would be nice to have folderson Switch one day. Don't even know if they have folders on PS4.
Why not add a Favorites list to permanently force 5 games to stay on your home screen.
@YANDMAN Did they ever pitch Twitch for the Switch? Maybe there was a hitch and it had to be ditched?
Lockdown week 4. Sorry.
Bluetooth for wireless headphones pls Nintendo even my vita has that
This new stability update is freaking awesome😍 for some odd reason my frame rate is a lot more stable and it seems Nintendo eShop store respond a lot faster I don't know what kind of magic did they do with the switch hardware But I hope they continue improving the switch hardware but I think it's about time they really need to add some stuff like folders and the home menu themes especially accessing the eShop store has no music there's a reason why I actually like my new 3DS XL more than my switch Now before anyone think I'm crazy It's my opinion and I am addicted to my switch 😍 I already have at least 100 something physical switch games they are mostly switch exclusive 😍 But for some odd reason I like the new 3DS XL more because it's a lot more customizable 😍
Yes, I came here for the stability jokes
Don't judge me
I've never encountered any stability issues. What awful indie trash is crashing my beloved Nintendo switch?
I like stability, it gives you a sense of protection during these troubling times
@Aaron09 yeah, Bluetooth support is a MUST HAVE... So we can use our airpods, buds, elite 75t ect 😁
@Rayquaza2510
Especially so for Switch, because I believe it relies on outdated 3.0 bluetooth technology.
I think it is time for some changes. Especially to the layout of the Eshop. Eshop feeks so cheap and overally difficult to navigate.
After update 10.0.0 I had an issue were I couldn't keep two joycons connected as a pair. It's fixed as of the update.
Speaking of updates...Nintendo of America can you check your "to do" list for 3ds "silver falls: 3 down stars" version 1.3. update? It's gone live in Europe already but not in the Americas. Also thanks for working hard during this rough viral era.
@Rayquaza2510 how do you think the joycons work wirelessly... Bluetooth.
It's so stable that you can build a house on top of it.
That's how stable it is now.
@Ulysses Nintendo's Bluetooth support is weird. The console claims to support Bluetooth 4.1, but the joycons are listed as Bluetooth 3.0.
@GrailUK yeah they did. it was meant to be coming out about a year ago at least.
@PALversusNTSC Is that 100% legit? i find it odd that twitch stated it would be released about a year ago if that is the case. and if that is the case, that is a real shame.
@diastelo
And I can feel the difference in latency between a pair of Joy-cons and a DS4.
I really, really hope Nintendo upgrades their next model to 5.0 Bluetooth and better Wifi.
It'd be nice to see an update for Luigi's Mansion 3 to make it, you know, playable. How they could have released it completely broken, lacking industry standard accessibility options that are well over a decade old is baffling. Nearly 6 months since launch and I still cannot play a game I've owned since day 1, nor can millions of others.
Why has NintendoLife not done their part and pressed Next Level Games for an answer to this severe issue? Had this been Anthem or Sea of Thieves, the media would have been all over them (and they were, rightly so) but because it's a Nintendo title we're to overlook a complete lack of pro-consumer accessibility options? Especially one that leaves the game utterly unplayable? Even worse, in an age where you shouldn't have to worry about it (as EVERY game over the last decade+ included it), not a single review prior to launch mentioned it, or did anything more than casually refer to it after the game came out and then forgot about it? Mafia King Tom Nook must have a firm grip on you and other media outlets to keep you guys quiet, because you've contributed to the massive failure when it comes to standing up for gamers.
@Aaron09 i coul be wrong, and correct me if i am but i dont think thats possible to do, i dont think you can just add it
Since I updated my Switch, Let's Sing Mic app on my smartphone can't find the Switch anymore. Tried it with different phones. Anyone else having this problem?
good update for me
