I can make a garbage 3D model at 8k and a million of polygons and that doesn't make it look better than an actual good render. There are plenty of PS2 games with more lived in cities than what this game has. Even SNES games.
I suppose many textures have been upgraded, but a lot more got downgraded. Look it up. It's amazing how most remasters look worse than the original game.
This game is just predatory while aimed at children. What's the deal with locked nickelodeon characters on the roster even when you haven't bought them separately? I know that we have been like this for ages, but still, it's not right.
The Silksong obsession is going too far. How about you make a good game? I'm developing a game (not a metroidvania) and I can't accuse a developer for not charging a high price. Now charging a low price is a bad thing? Don't you also play games? Also, there are a lot of great old games at lower prices or even for free, aren't you also competing with them? Is it wrong that they are more accessible?
As long as it doens't play itself like in Xenoblade 3... Anyway, I don't see what's so bad about the normal battle system. Maybe if grinding and spamming strong attacks is your playstyle, it gets stale after so many years, but that's not the case for everyone. If anything, there should be more double battle foscused games to spice things up.
@Strictlystyles You said that it's a reason to go to hell, and I know it's mostly a joke, but you really show yourself heated up by the existence of this game.
@Strictlystyles So nobody is allowed to make a survival game with monsters you can catch to use in those survival elements and combat just because Pokemon exists? Or monster taming games can't exists at all? You might not like the game, and some designs aren't too original, but you are comparing this to killing someone.
@Sensible "A Ubisoft Original" is correct, though. You put "n" when the next word starts with a vowel sound, not a vowel. Ubisoft sounds like "Yubisoft", so the "n" shouldn't be there.
@UltimateOtaku91 You can choose the moves one by one outside tournaments. Unless you meant that the combat gets so easy that it's not necessary to do so.
@-wc-
Well, to begin with, this isn't a Musou by any stretch of the imagination. It shares some of combat mechanics, but that's about it. There's not battlefield here. This looks more like a Yakuza game.
If you want musou combat with weight, play any of the PS2 games. For variety, that's not the strong suit of these games, but Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition has a lot of mission kinds and gimmicks, it's also the biggest game.
Someone recommended you the Berserk game, but that's the most repetitive game in the genre. Barely any mission variety and you play as Guts for 90% percent of the stages, if not more.
@axelhander It is acceptable in the sense that they can publish the game that it's mostly done without really any drawbacks. It makes sense that they don't want to continue using Unity for future projects, though.
Personally I wouldn't throw a year worth of work into the trash. The policy has changed to something acceptable, and obviously all trust is lost, but this way they are losing money. The thing would be to release it and not touch Unity again.
To me it wasn't that much different to BotW. Yeah, I get the new mechanics, but it didn't make for a different feeling game. Quests were also more boring. On paper it's "BotW but better" but in practice it was "BotW but it isn't anything you haven't played before" for me.
I hope this is one of those things that have such a backlash that is not implemented. I started developing a game on Unity a year ago and this sounds like it's already killing it.
@Pupuplatter Some games skip the frames they missed, others play all of them but slower, so he didn't necessarily manipulated the video, and if you check around the end of the following one, you can clearly see frames dropping to 20 fps: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SXNjtFBXki8
Just now I played the demo and I got a bug where I would select an attack for the second character and the protagonist would do the attack with an invisible weapon. This persisted for the entire demo. You can also get stuck in a tutorial if you don't have the required weapon equipped, forcing to restart. I think the delay is for the better.

Re: Review: Double Dragon Revive (Switch) - Nice Ideas, Uneven Execution
Double Dragon was never good, it was just the only decent option for a long time if you had a NES.

I'm liking the game a lot, but "frames drop for 3 seconds every 40 minutes of play" is plainly dishonest, or the person just doesn't have eyes.
