Re: Shovel Knight amiibo Confirms "Evolving" Relationship With Indies, Says Nintendo

GrizzlyArctos

Wow there's a lot of negativity here. I'm happy to see Shovel Knight getting it's own Amiibo. It was a fantastic game and it's cool they're even considering things like this. Hopefully this will open up the possibility of other non-nintendo Amiibo (really want a Bayonetta one to be announced).

I understand the concerns about game modes being locked behind the Amiibo, but these features don't seem too massive, don't add anything major to the game and likely weren't even considered for the game in the first place. If these were included on day one, but locked off I could see the worry, but in my opinion this seems reasonable. Shovel Knight is already a full game without these features, plus there's FREE DLC coming soon.

Yes, there is potential for Amiibo to go too far, locking out large portions of a game unless the Amiibo is bought. So far, however, they seem to be handled well, with only minor features in different games meaning that the game isn't locked behind the Amiibo. (Also availability has been an issue for many, but I won't go into that here.) And to those complaining about how Nintendo has handled the Shovel Knight Amiibo, this was all done by Yacht Club, not Nintendo.

Re: Blast Ball is Actually the Tutorial in Metroid Prime: Federation Force, With an Intriguing Story Promised

I was talking with a friend earlier and came up with a (maybe farfetched) theory about the story. Given what we've heard from Kensuke Tanabe recently (wanting to create a Metroid game revolving around Samus and Sylux from Hunters, and possibly using Federation Force to flesh out the universe a bit), Sylux may feature in Federation Force (giving backstory for his hatred of the Galactic Federation), which could then be used to lead into a new game set after Corruption, where the ship in the secret ending was confirmed to belong to Sylux at E3 this year. This would finally tie Hunters into the story too, considering that it has little to no relation to the Prime story.

This sounds a little bit out there, and I'm probably going to be disappointed, but I had fun coming up with the theory at least.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Asks for Fan Trust With Metroid Prime: Federation Force

GrizzlyArctos

@bubby444 That's not what I was saying. You wondered why it has the Metroid title, and I responded that it was part of the Metroid universe. Simple. I understand that people want a proper Metroid game, so do I, but that isn't to say that Federation Force will be a bad game simply because it's a spin off. Did Nintendo do a bad job at introducing this game? Yes, but that doesn't mean that the game itself will be bad. Wait for more to be revealed about the game. You never know, it might actually be a good game.

Wow I'm seeing a lot of whining here. Did Nintendo do a bad job of introducing this game? Yes, no doubt about it. Does that mean that this game will be bad? No. It could potentially be amazing. I admit that I'd rather see a main series Metroid game, but I'm still going to give this a chance and see what it offers. Just because Samus isn't in it doesn't mean it'll be bad. Maybe offering a playable demo of the game would help to clear up some of the negativity surrounding it.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS)

GrizzlyArctos

I don't mind paying full price for this remake. Not only is Majora's Mask my favourite game of all time, but having it on a handheld is one of the biggest selling points of the remake for me. I can take it with me to play now, and I don't need to constantly dig out my N64 and the cartridge, both of which are now on their last legs.

And as for complaints about getting excited over something old rather than new games, what makes you think I'm not interested in other, newer games coming out either?
