I hope they offer a good trade-in value out of the gate. I have a copy of NBA Live 14 for PS4 just itching to take a permanent vacation from my home. On the other hand, I collect Nintendo titles so I won't be trading any in.
One of the biggest mistakes in my life was bulk-selling all my old games and gaming systems. I had nothing like this guy, but I sold everything up to the Gamecube and had maybe 60-70 NES games, 20 SNES, 10 64, and 10 GC. Sigh. I wish Nintendo would make retro consoles and cartridge games. I would love to have it all again. Most used stuff I find looks to be in pretty spotty condition.
And as far as horsepower goes, I think the Wii U's capabilities suit the Nintendo dynamic nicely. SM3DW and DKTF look amazing on the system. Maybe the system would struggle with something like The Order 1886 or MLB 14 The Show or any of these more detailed PS4 games — I don't know that much about the nitty-gritty tech specs and how they all work — but for Nintendo games at least, I think the Wii U has proven to be a very hearty and capable machine.
This will be the first Lego game I don't buy on day one. Haven't seen the movies yet (waiting for a boxed set w/ extended cuts of all three) so by then it should be in the bargain bin anyway. Have way too big of a backlog, anyway (still haven't started Pikmin 3!).
Looks like a new figure...the orange guy with two hammers! My initial reaction to vehicle toys is a negative. I'm fine if they make vehicle toys independent of the game, but I don't really want a huge portal big enough for co-op players to each place a vehicle on it. I was hoping the next game would just feature all new characters and new gameplay ideas. Also, please no world building like Infinity.
I kind of glossed over this during the direct. I was more excited for Trozei and Real Deal Baseball. I've DL'ed the F2P version but haven't touched it yet. This review has made me decide to give it a shot.
I've seen two scorps, caught one and didn't get my net out in time to nab the other. I got stung instead and was reset at my front door! I lucked into the tarantula last night. It was sitting right in front of me as I exited re-tail. Before I even got to the museum one of my villagers offered to buy it for 10k. I refused and donated it.
Work is killer this weekend, but there's always time for a little New Leaf, a bit of post-story adventure in Lego City Undercover, and a few levels of LuigiU!
@Nintenjoe64 Excellent idea. Hope they make the demos available! How long will the Best Buy demo stations be up and running? Maybe when that's wrapped up N will make them available for download.
I would love to see the Gears universe eventually make its way to Wii U. It's the only reason I own a 360 but I probably won't by an Xbox One for a number of reasons. I'll miss Gears, though; it's my favorite series.
Can't wait. We're looking forward to pro controller capability and we LOVE the price cut for the downloadable version. Until downloadable versions of games see regular price reductions over physical, I will always buy physical. Since this one is cheaper, we're going digital (it also doesn't hurt that it's coming earlier than the retail version)!
Got mine in the mail on Friday and am loving it so far! I was hoping to see some specials on Animal Crossing related products at Club Nintendo, but alas, nothing (I was wanting the AC playing cards but they've been sold out for a few days...oh well).
@Funny_Moblin Strange...mine showed up while the game was still in the process of downloading. Keep us updated! Hope they didn't remove the coins already.
Wii U — Lego City Undercover, try my free Tank! game too 3DS — Crosswords Plus, NSMB2, maybe Luigi's Mansion PS3 — Star Trek 360 — Gears of War: Judgment
I'm amazed at the quality of work I see every time I log on. I wish I had a fraction of the artistic talent I see around Miiverse. Nice to see these artists getting recognition beyond a few comments and yeahs.
Retail version, always, unless there is a killer reason to go digital (bonus goodies, significantly cheaper price, or the game just makes sense digital, like Crosswords Plus). The collector in me really doesn't like digital, anyway.
Fantastic game...fun, easy learning curve, and the action never feels repetitive, even going back and replaying missions with different characters. One of my favorite 3DS titles!
Disappointed to hear about the technical issues, but we love Lego games in our house and our pre-order is on its way. Can't wait, though we may finish story mode on the Wii U version before diving into this one.

Eh, who needs this with Hello Kitty Kruisers on the eShop? I kid, of course...this looks incredible. Tick, tock...just a little over two months to go!

Re: Mario Kart 8 Pre-Orders from Amazon Japan Get Sweet Mario or Rosalina Playing Cards
Holding out on pre-ordering in hopes of nabbing some sort of bonus goodie for US releases. I'll still buy it on release day anyway, but still...
Re: Club Nintendo in North America to Remove Post-Play Survey Coins for Wii and DS Games
I already had my Pokemon X post play removed. I registered it but hadn't had time to play yet.

Wish I had time to watch more of the stream over the past couple of weeks. What I saw of it was pretty entertaining!

Re: Retro Studios Talks Up Wii U And Has Been Working On A New Title Since November
If it's anywhere near as fun as Tropical Freeze it'll be fantastic. Looking forward to hearing more about whatever it is!
Re: Video: The Top 20 Wii U Games So Far - Part One
That actually sounds quite good! I'm currently working my way through the 3DS game and have designs on re-playing the Wii U game afterwards.
Re: Video: The Top 20 Wii U Games So Far - Part One
My top five of the games I've played:
1. Lego City Undercover
2. Super Mario 3D World
3. Tropical Freeze
4. Wind Waker
5. Wii Party U.

Cool!
Re: Mario Golf: World Tour Takes The Actions Under The Sea
Very cool! Looking forward to this one. I was kind of "meh" on Hot Shots Golf on the Vita. I think Nintendo will do better with this.
Re: Diddy Kong Confirmed as the Latest New Challenger for Super Smash Bros.
I'm not big on fighting games — I'm pretty awful at them — but I must say this one's looking better with every reveal.

Re: Register Shin Megami Tensei IV and Fire Emblem: Awakening and Receive $30 eShop Credit
@ferthepoet
Nintendo's website states that those who have already registered Fire Emblem only need to register SMT IV to qualify.
