Hyrule Historia! I love the Frankensteinian lore that emerged from a franchise that was never intended to be a consistent story and which borrows so transparently from fables across the world. I bought that book to give to a friend. It sat in my bookcase for a while until I could give it to him, and now there's a Zelda shaped opening there
Never forget that the NES brought home game consoles back from the dead by providing a curated library of games instead of heaps of junk to wade through. Still relevant today.
I did not like the approach of the English voice acting in Breath of the Wild. First time I permanently switched a game to a language I could not understand (Japanese).
@Spoony_Tech Not sure I agree. Carry cases tend to offer room for a lot of cartridges. I can carry more of them in mine than I expect to own. The only benefit of digital downloads that remains for me is not having to physically swap games. But this list of SD cards shows you a ballpark cost for that convenience. Not worth it for me.
Having one article say there are 'so many games' available in the title, and another not even reviewing but announcing a collection of Newgrounds games is a bit conflicting.
This 2002 game is €13,- on Steam on the rare occasion it's not discounted, less than half the price. It is a classic that did not age well and I highly discourage anyone interested in experiencing classic point and click games for the first time from doing so with this game. Many LucasArts classics have received a great-to-fair remastering such as Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, Monkey Island and Full Throttle. I'd sooner wait for such games to become available on your platform of choice.
@MarcelRguez Just to avoid unmet expectations; I did not read this as them saying they will look to tailor a game to the Switch. They just say that World is not suitable for porting to the Switch, but maybe a next Monster Hunter game does lend itself to a port.
It's gotta be tough, being a startup designer in this saturated market of contemptuous consumers. Still, No Man's Sky did not fall victim to hyped-up consumer presumptions the designer never intended. In fact the company can be applauded for constantly repeating what not to expect. What the game did fall victim to, were the actual promises the designer did make that were misleading or downright wrong.
@Fazermint Nintendo themselves have classified the Galaxy games to be akin to Super Mario 3D land instead of Mario 64 or Sunshine, being more linear instead of branching. It makes choosing the best one between Galaxy and 64 less meaningful, as they set out to achieve very different things. http://i.imgur.com/iTAPckh.jpg
@Hrimfaksi Re-releases of strong titles always stand a chance. For newcomers it's a reminder that the game exists and is still relevant (which I think DOOM is), and for returning players the re-release often contains something fresh. In the case of Nintendoom we now have the first handheld release of the game. I don't have a clue if it will pay off, but I think there is enough reason to give it a try.
@electrolite77 There is hope for single-player games yet Still, Mario is the most widely recognised brand of single player games, a reputation that's been built by publishing high quality games over a course of decennia. A single-player Mario game being successful does not undermine the statement that publishing single-player games is hard. Nintendo has worked ridiculously hard and deserves to be at the top.
@Anti-Matter The 2 million Mario games shipped in 3 days is indeed fantastic news. Just to avoid confusion; the article refers to a Switch install base currently sitting at around 7 million units, so not the amount that's sold in 3 days, but 7 million units have been sold over its lifespan so far.

Cranky Kong seems to be enjoying himself a lot given his name. #NotMyCranky
Re: Behold The Majesty Of The Zelda 'Green Goddess' Ladies Satin Robe
The Zelda branding ruins it a bit.

Re: Random: Dragon Ball FighterZ On Low PC Settings Gives Us Hope That A Switch Port Could Happen
The high-resolution interface on top of the low-resolution game world really bothers me.
Re: Former Metroid Prime Developer Reflects On Cut Content From The Trilogy
Nintendo continuing one of its critically acclaimed franchises is hardly surprising, though great nonetheless.

@thesilverbrick Same way Tingle got introduced to the Zelda games. A kindred green wearing spirit.

Good move to release this while the Switch has no Smash Bros game.
