Another game to add to my list. I won't be buying another Wiiware or DSiware game until I'm done with my current digital backlog. PSN is different because I might get a game if it's on sale for PS+ or regular PSN.
DSiware transfer linking both untis to your Club Nintendo account to sync and then use your 3DS and be able to sell your DSi.
Final price for the US release will be $249 and will include a voucher for a free 3D movie, a code to start up the 3DS store and download 2-3 demos and a code to download a 3DSware game from Nintendo that shows what 3D can do for the handheld.
Release date over here? February 19. They will focus on releasing 3DS in Japan in December 4th, then the US, Canada and Mexico and then Europe and everywhere else on March 26 just before the end of their fiscal year.
Games will retail for $34.99 from Nintendo and $39.99 from 3rd party publishers at launch and the go all over the place from $19.99 all the way up to $49.99 depending on the release and franchise.
My guess is come february 2011 the Lite will be $99.99, DSi will be $129.99 and the DSi XL will be $169.99. They can still sell several million Lite/DSi/Xl at the current price and make a killing at christmas and THEN lower the price before the march release of the 3DS.
They COULD do the price drop before black friday and completely kill off Sony...
@Skullkid: In Japan you can get the regular version for about $45 OR you can go for the special edition that comes with the book for about $75.
I would easily get this on DS (specially if the 3DS can do 3D for the DS library as well. Studio Ghibli animation and Level 5 designed game in 3D? Yes! I might get the PS3 version as well if it's really as different as it's trailer has shown (no anime cutscenes since they're presented using the in-game engine).
@Stuffgamer1: No backtracking since the game is separated into levels (11 if I recall properly). You get to use the purple orbs to max out the weapons but you CAN'T max both of them, at least not on Normal difficulty (might get more orbs on hard, which I'm currently playing after finishing the game but I see no difference so far orb-wise). I needed an extra 5,000 orbs for full max but you MIGHT get them if you go back and forth between screens and kill all the enemies. Will take a while.
@bboy2970: I downloaded it yesterday at 10:30 p.m., played until 12 a.m. and it said I had finished 77% of the game so my guess is it will be 2 hours if you go out of your way to find all the HP and MP crystals. So far if the game had already ended I would have gotten my 500 points worth but with at least 20-40 minutes left it is a must buy for any Castlevania fans.
I got the game on monday but have not had a chance to sit down and play it since I want to do it start to finish. I liked what I read and saw in the reviews and liked Art of Balance so I gave them my support and my 10 bucks.
The game might be short but it seems to be a great experience. Lost Winds and Winter of the Melodias send their best.
Well, I have yet to register a single Wii or DS game since I got platinum just with my DSi and DSiware, Wiiware and Virtual Console purchases which means that Excite Truck would expire by the end of 2011. Guess I will just register games chronologically to be on the safe side.
I might get a 3DTV in 2012 once price of the units and the glasses is down. A 1080p 46" 3D LED TV with zero videogame delay and a free pair of 3D glasses and 4 3D movies all for 600 could get me to sign up eventually.
My guess is he'll create a new franchise for 3DS since it will be a new product with at least 5-6 years of life, enough to bring more than one new game to the series. Or maybe launch on Wii in December 2011 and then carry on on the Wii 2 or 3DS.
I like the party games as well as Go Home (own them all) and I was looking forward to another adventure game before going back to minigame land. Maybe we'll get one next year?
FF IV: The After Years has DLC that feels more like "episodes" than just extra levels or units.
I'll get both Bearsworth games and probably all the extra levels if I like them enough. See no problem with buying more levels to increase how long the game will end up being for me.
You don't HAVE to get the DLC, it's just an option. For me, I'm loving the way SE has done DLC on Wiiware. I always get the extra dungeons/levels and sometimes get extra items or characters but have never felt I HAD to get them to get "the full experience". I like having a choice.
Huh, I just realized that the boss model is the same as the one for the other level shown before. Maybe that's one of the ways they're cutting on total space? Use the same boss model but change attacks and patterns. Worked for Super Mario Bros!
I have 1,000 points set aside for this game just waiting for it to be monday. My sister is getting it as well so that's two games sold.
Here's hoping for this game to sell many, many copues so Shin'en can make more Wiiware games. Loved Art of Balance and having and adventure game on Wiiware is always great.
That's great! Now I can focuss on finishing all the games I have AND buy the new releases (Other M, DKC Returns, Kirby, etc.) between now and the end of the year before I have to start saving for the system.
What people don't realize is that the longer we have to wait for the system the more the final price of the 3DS goes down and this ups the chance of us getting the portable for less than $200.
They should release in Japan in February 2011, then Europe in July and in October in the Americas to bring down the price and get enough units manufactured. Plus they would get another E3 to show the final launch lineup.
700 for the game is a very reasonable price, specially if the other two episodes are the same price. What I don't know is if you have to get the first one to get the other two or if they're separate releasesl..
If they do go the DLC way, they could release small side quest packages that re-use assets from the game and extend gameplay while also giving out extra items or bonus. IF they decide to give us extra dungeons they better raise the 40 MB limit.
@Caliki: I didn't need the DLC to finish My Life as a Darklord. I got Palom and the extra chapters and that worked out just fine.
Having extra levels as DLC is always great. The extra units depend on how much it changes the game. Let's wait for a review of each DLC item and see how things work out in the end, ok?
So it will be a game gifted from their console to those that get the confirmation email. Still waiting for my email, but since the Empty Clip Site says the promo is still on, then I guess I'll get a confirmation email over the weekend.
@SuperPeach: Usually, that's a yes. If you send your Wii in for repairs and Nintendo decides to give you a new Wii instead you get your purchases and friend code moved to the new console. Still have to re-register your new Wii's serial number but sometimes they do that to your Club Nintendo account if you provide the infor upon repair.
If the Wii sells this year as well as it did last year, Nintendo won't show their next console until E3 2012 and could release either in 2012 or 2013. As long as people buy the console and it continues having million sellers, what's the rush? I already own a PS3 I got in November so I have HD gaming and other games that don't release on Wii so I get the best of both worlds right now..
Maybe they'll have you register at Club Nintendo (already did), register your system (already did) and THEN register your 3DS (as soon as it hits retail!) so you can re-download all your DSiware purchases on your new handheld and play some of the in 3D! (upper screen only).

I'm platinum already and have enough codes to make it again for two years straight... and that isn't even counting my DSiware, VC and Wiiware purchases. Love me some Nintendo. Easier to get Platinum at Club Nintendo than it is over at the Members program for Square Enix. Still a bronze after registering 5 games.

Re: Review: Absolute Brickbuster (DSiWare)
Well, it IS 200 points. Anyone looking for a fun game in this genre just spend an extra 300 and get Alpha Bounce.
Re: Review: Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law (Wii)
I loved the Harvey Birdman. Bought it at launch and had a lot of fun. Those that are curious can just go to Gamestop and get it for only $5.
I just got a PSP copy of the game in my Capcom Grab Bag from Comic Con.
Re: Dirk Dares to Conquer Wii with Dragon's Lair Trilogy
Well, $30 for the three games in one disc is great and the price is good enough for my purchase. Was about to get it on DSiware but now I'll wait.

Re: Review: Runaway: A Twist of Fate (DS)
Can't find it in stock anywhere. Only option is a European import copy. Are we sure this was released in April?
Re: Professor Layton and the Unwound Future Jumps a Week Closer to the Present
Still need to start Diablolical Box but will get this in september.
Re: First Impressions: Heavy Fire: Special Operations
800-1,000 points will probably be the final price. Love on-rail shooters so I might get this one once reviews start appearing.
Re: Review: Toribash (WiiWare)
Game seems too weird. Might wait to try it on PC and see how it goes from there.
Re: Aksys Calls 999 for Western Translation
So they ARE localizing this? Great news!
Re: Review: The Tales of Bearsworth Manor: Chaotic Conflicts (WiiWare)
IGN didn't like either Bearsworth game and decided they should both get a 5.5

Re: Review: Pearl Harbor Trilogy - 1941: Red Sun Rising (WiiWare)
I'll buy it by the end of the month since I currently have several games I need to finish first on DS, DSiware, Wii, Wiiware, PS3 and PSN.

Re: Horizon Riders Sets its Sights on WiiWare
Well, release for 800 points and I might consider it.
Re: Soul of Darkness
Well, a Castlevania clone for DSiware for 500 points can only be a good thing, right?
Re: Review: Ancient Tribe (DSiWare)
Oh well, saved 500 points by waiting for the review.
Re: Review: Ufouria: The Saga (Virtual Console / NES)
Hoping for an "import" release of the game over here. Definitely worth the extra 100-200 points needed for that.
Re: Enter the Steamy World of Tower Defence
More Tower Defense for me!
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd July (Europe)
Mmm, hopefully we get Uforia released over here even if it means paying the 100 points import fee. Seems like a fun game and no translation is needed.

Re: Advanced Circuits Flash Demo Offers Free Wheeling
For 2 bucks the game is fun. One of those pick up and play games best suited for the DS.
Re: And Here's Your 2010 Club Nintendo Awards, North America
Getting myself a figurine... but the page just died on my. Guess a lot of us got platinum this year.

Re: Review: Maestro! Green Groove (DSiWare)
Well, it's either get the game in pieces or import it. Still, 500 for one area times 6 is a $30 total investment. Might give this a try next week.

Re: Review: The World Ends With You (DS)
The soundtrack in TWEWY is one of the best out there. Still have to track down a copy of it.
Re: Review: Arcana (Super Nintendo)
And that cover is just too sexy for a SNES game. Remember seeing the original add on a magazine and wondering how Nintendo allowed for that.
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th & 30th June 2010 (Japan)
Wiiware needs more turn based RPGs. The After Years is great and shows that you can do the episode model for RPGs.
Re: Win One of 100 Digital Copies of Groovin' Blocks
Sent my code. So if it's the first 100 to send an email, does that mean we won a copy? The page still says that copies are still available.
