@Mikau94: Currently playing Mini Land Mayhem and it's definitely worth the day 1 price (which I paid) for the included levels and all the ones you can download.
I got a GB SP and a Micro for GB and GBA games and a DSi (upgraded from a Lite, which was upgraded from a Phat) for my DS gaming. At $99 the last remaining stock of DS Lite will be gone before the end of september.
Harcore and Casual are PR Bullsh*t terms made up to rally up the fanboys and wrongly label people. I've been playing games ever since the Pong machines that existed a while back. Played everthing from platformers and FPS to DDR and Guitar Hero. I play Wii Fit, Cooking Mama and Brain Age while also playing Final Fantasy XIII, God of War III and CoD games... so what am I exactly? A casual hardocore? A Harcore casual? Puuuure BS.
Have the retail release and have to agree that at $8 this is a mustbuy. Sure, the AI gets a bit crazy later on but you can outsmart it with enough practice.
Ok, let's make things clear. There's over 70 games on Wii worth playing. Once you're over those, I can think of a list of 50 VC games and 70 Wiiware ones to add to it. Should take you 4 years to play all of those.
"Oh, the Wii has no games that will launch this year that I want other than Zelda. Wii is doomed!". No it's not, there's this thing called a backlog that several of us have at home (mine sits at 20 Wii games, 20 Wiiware and 6 VC) and you can get several Wii games at great prices. I also own a DSi (with 15 games), PS3 (with 10 games), PSP (with 12 games) and iPhone (with 10 games) and their respective backlogs so I'm set for the rest of the year.
Oh, and the Wii has a 30+ million lead worldwide. The Wii isn't doomed. The Wii has already won this generation...
@shinesprite: Yep, new set of characters. They're trying to "link" both games so you buy one and then the other since it's basically the same "universe" in a way.
Getting this next week since I've really liked all that Wayforward has released so far 2D wise, especially their offerings on DSiware.
Own it on a SNES and on DS cartridges so I'll skip the VC release. Was expecting Square-Enix to sell it for $10 since on PSN they mark up their big PSX releases.
Love the Layton series and we're two games behind in comparison to our japanese counterparts so if ALSO having Lautrec's adventure set for release in the US means having more great puzzle games with superbly animated cutscenes and great voice acting... what's the problem?
Don't see what the problem is with the 25th anniversary collection. For $30 we got Super Mario All Stars, great packaging, a booklet and a soundtrack. I got mine and you should too while supplies last!
You know what you can do Nintendo? Release Disaster: Day of Crisis and Fatal Frame 4 over here since they're already fully translated and that way you can say "hey, we ARE launching new and exciting Wii games!". Print 300k copies of each game, include a soundtrack and artbook, charge us $40-50, call it a CE and we're all happy!
Makes sense since on 3DS it would be one of a handful of games launched in the next couple of months while on the DS it would come during the last avalanche of "we had almost finished it on DS so we might as well launch it and start working on something else for 3DS".
This will make it easier for people to justify the $40 price tag on the game.
@DarkKirby Master Quest was unlocked from the start on the NES original by using a specific name for Link so my guess is the same could be the case with the 3DS remake.
Pure BS. They could release it on 3DSware or as a retail 3DS game (zombies in 3D!) instead of going to PS3/XBLA since those have many, many zombie games.
@Crunc: If the Wii virtual console is an example of things to come, we can expect Game Gear, Lynx, Neo Geo Pocket, NGP Color and Wonderswan to be added eventually.
@James Yes I am. Just found it. I was looking on the Blog and the Forums but realized there's a sidebar on the Little King's Story section of the site showing the concept art.
I mentioned this before when the Super Mario Bros Anniversary box launched. They would have to go with Zelda I-II and Link to the Past with a book and soundtrack for $30 (the games on VC would cost you $18 so $12 for the book, soundtrack and packaging is right) since Ocarina is releasing on 3DS... and my guess is that if that does well they'll do the same for Majora's Mask.
Also, anyone know if the 3DS version of Ocarina will also include the Master Quest?
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I won't get a 3DS until summer 2012 at the earliest, maybe holiday 2012 is more likely. My DSi still has a lot of life ahead since I've got 25 DS games in my drawer I've yet to start, I'll probably spend another $100 on DSiware (at least) and there's 10+ games launching in 2011 I'll be buying, along with 10+ games from 2010 I couldn't buy for one reason or another.
DS ain't dead at retail. Problem is most people are picky.

Re: Professor Layton and the Last Specter Coming to America
Happy happy, joy joy. Happy happy, joy joy. Happy happy, joy joy joy.
Re: Review: GO Series: Picdun (DSiWare)
Well, that's a very high score and the review makes it sound like a very fun game so now I know what I'll get on the store update in two weeks.
Re: House, M.D. - Globetrotting has an Appointment with DSiWare
So it's the same as the retail game but broken down into several releases that makes it be $40?
Re: SEGA Makes Shinobi Official, First Shots Inside
Like the art direction they're taking with this.
Re: Here's a Video of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D's New Features
The water temple (which never gave me trouble back in the day) will be waaaaaaay easier with the touch control.
@xDemon720x: 3D trailers will be viewable on the eShop in two weeks time, directly on your 3DS!
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles' Alternative Cover has been Decided
Waiting for this to be confirmed for december 2011 in the US...
Re: Wii Just Couldn't Handle Sonic Generations
Well, I've got enough Wii games for now so I wouldn't have bought it anyway.
Re: Sonic Generations 3DS Mixes 16-bit and Rush Gameplay
Interesting. Still have to finish Sonic 4 Episode 1 (my guess is there won't be an episode 2?) so I can wait this out a bit.

Re: Double Bloob Now Bouncing on DSiWare Instead
Still waiting for this game. I really liked the original game this is based on and played a lot of it at arcades.

Re: You Must Finish Ocarina of Time 3D to Take On the Master Quest
Well, being able to directly jump into Master Quest would have been better for me but I can deal with it.
Re: Monster World IV
Wait, we're FINALLY getting MW IV AND fully localized? Ok, SEGA has my 900 Nintendo Points waiting!
Re: Nintendo Announces eShop Update for 6th June
Great. That will give me a year and a half backlog of digital releases once I get mine in december 2012!
Re: Chrono Trigger Does the Virtual Console Time Warp on Monday

Re: Rumour: Famitsu Details 3DS eShop Launch Line-Up
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait. Zelda in 3D? As in the NES Zelda in 3D? Do we have a price on that?
Re: A Dragon Quest Collection for Wii Draws Near!
3 games in two flavors, artbook and sountrack? $50. 3 games in two flavors? $40.
What will it be Square-Enix?
Re: Nintendo Changes Club Nintendo Privacy Policy
Just logged in and I had no "please accept the new terms" prompt at all.

Re: Review: DodoGo! Robo (DSiWare)
Hopefully this gets released here soon since I've had a lot of fun with the first two. That it is only 200 points is also great news.
Re: Review: Rabi Laby (DSiWare)
Well, read that wrong and figured it as only $2. $5 still sounds reasonable but it will have to wait for me to add funds to my account.
Re: Review: Rabi Laby (DSiWare)
$2 huh? Ok, downloading it tonight since I've got 400 points left in my account.
Re: Nintendo Download: 14th March 2011 (North America)
So, what was the point of the retail release for $20 if they knew they'd release it for $8 on DSiware? Any difference between both versions?
Re: Features: The Game Gear Games We Need on 3DS Virtual Console
Agree on all except Dragon's Trap. We've got enough versions of that on the Wii VC as to make the trip to the 3DS.
Re: Nintendo Hasn't Forgotten About the Wii, Don't Worry

Re: Scratch That, There's Three Adventure Island Games Coming to Virtual Console
Basically, Super Adventure Island II is like Adventure Island IV on the NES and since we never got that one over here...
Re: Gabrielle's Ghostly Groove will now be Spooking Gamers in 3D

Re: Rumour: Using Piracy Devices May Disable Your 3DS
They could also use street pass or accessing the eStore to check what you've been doing with your 3DS...

Re: Game Gear and TurboGrafx-16 Coming to 3DS Virtual Console
And in the first year they'll add the Lynx, the Neo Geo Pocket, the Neo Geo Pocket Color, the Wonderswan and the Wonderswan Color.
Am I missing your favorite Non-Nintendo portable?
Re: Nintendo Announces North American 3DS Games Line-Up
And imagine all the great games I'll be able to buy in holiday 2012 when I get a 3DS...

Re: 3DS Virtual Console Will Be Available on Launch Day
Last comments about the store being a download in May came from Nintendo Europe... who usually have NO IDEA about what's going on.
Re: CTA Digital's 3DS 22-in-1 Accessory Kit Trumps All Opponents
Only thing I'd need for a 3DS would be the screen protectors...
Re: Cave Story is Coming to 3DS in Full Retail Form
Well I've got it on Wiiware and ALMOST bought it on DSiware but I'll wait for the 3DS remake. 3D Cave Story? Here's my $30!

Were exactly on the rising star site is this concept art? I can't find it!
Re: Review: S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team (Virtual Console / NES)
Played it back in the day and I'll be sure to download it over the weekend.
Re: Nintendo Download: 31st January 2011 (North America)
Nothing for me this week... which is great news since I've got to finish Medes, Jett Rocket and Cave Story.

Re: There'll be Plenty of 3DS Consoles at Launch, UK
Skipping the launch purchase for the first time since the N64. Too many games in my backlog, too many expenses and not enough time. 2012, here I come!
