Re: Parodius

One of the best shoot 'em ups ever in my opinion, pretty much only bested by its sequels which were never released outside Japan. Really hope Konami throws it on VC eventually!

Re: Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest

Square Enix has renewed the brand on the European trademark registration site with its original European title (Mystic Quest Legends). As there haven't been any other Mystic Quest titles since we're pretty confident that that means it's for a VC release!

If you want to check for yourself go here and enter "Square Enix" into the Owner field.

@WaltzElf: I don't mind when a puzzle game has some genuinely puzzling stuff, but there's a fine line between "puzzling yet fun to figure out" and "too puzzling and not fun to figure out," and this game leans way more towards the latter.

I think my posts are in grey boxes because I created this game page. I am planning on reviewing it though!

Re: Nintendo Download: 16th April 2010 (Europe)

@Cipher: Very weird, those aren't listed in the press release they sent us. I'll assume it's correct and add them to the news though

@SoulSilver IV: Well, Nintendo of Europe is based in Germany, so technically the date is correct, since the Wii Shop updates exactly at midnight for them.

@6ch6ris6: 1. Yes, you can go anywhere you've already been without having to replay stages.
2. As others have said, during gameplay, controlling your envelope uses the touch screen only.
3. The RPG elements really just come down to the customization of your envelope and ball, nothing more.
4. No clue, to be honest, almost every single DSiWare game uses the touch screen!

@BlueFlameBat: Any old games we add for reference or a retro review go under the retro section, not VC.

Re: Review: Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber (Virtual Console / Nintendo 64)

As others have already pointed out, a game doesn't necessarily have to appeal to everyone to garner a 10/10. I think it's pretty clear if you read the review that if you don't like strategy games, you might not like this, because there's a lot of character tweaking and other micromanagement involved.

I personally don't really like Fire Emblem, which is also more in-depth than my favourite strategy titles (Advance Wars, Shining Force), yet somehow I still love this game.

Re: Review: Dracula: Undead Awakening (DSiWare)

Yeah, I guess I must've missed the touch-screen controls, because the game seems to get "locked" on whatever you use first - If you start a game with button controls you can't switch to the touch screen mid-game, and vice versa. Duly noted and amended.
