I personally enjoyed this more than the first, it's a lot more accessible. One of the most underrated Wii games IMO, I believe it's only sold about 200.000 copies
@ North99: Not only is this not a wrestling game, it's not even a boxing game. The creators of the Wii version said it best, Punch-Out!! is more like a puzzle game.
@ KeeperBvK: For another sidequest you're required to meet someone quite nearby at the same time, so it's very likely you'll find him then. In fact, you have to do that sidequest multiple times to get different rewards, so it's extremely likely you'll run into him one time. Even then, he's pretty much the only character you can miss, really.
Capcom is definitely the company I'd most like to see arcade games from. Gun.Smoke, Commando, the 1940 series, Buster Bros., Captain Commando and Knights of the Round please!
And of course the superior versions of Final Fight, MERCS, Ghosts 'n Goblins, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Strider and Forgotten Worlds
@ CuzinMike: Multiple things. The music skips a lot and sometimes starts too late, some of the graphics are messed up, and worst of all, the game often freezes completely.
Based on my experience it would've been a four as well - I meant that I understand that there's also people who enjoy the game, so if I should rate it with them in mind or not. I think very few people are going to be willing to spend the enormous amount of time it takes to "enjoy" the game, so I didn't.
I scored it based on what most people would probably give it - If you think it sounds at all interesting then go for it, since it does have a small following, so some people do like it
@ marktheshark: They're only confirmed for Japan at the moment. True, we usually add games announced for Japan which were also released in EU/US, but in this case it's just too many. Maybe we'll add those which are released in Japan next month, we'll find out tomorrow
@ tkubas1: We only list games as 2-player if you can play with 2 players simultaneously. If you just alternate turns it's hardly multiplayer in our eyes.
I downloaded Mappy, and if all games are like it, then it's basically the game in the middle of a giant black square, in which you can just barely make out the words "Arcade Game" repeatedly scrolling across the background diagonally.
To be fair the NES game doesn't really start getting hard until the World Circuit either. Super has more opponents so obviously it takes a bit longer to get going.
@ Tides of Chaos: Sin & Punishment was partially translated because the game was actually almost completely ready for US release originally. I think they just threw that version on VC.
Nintendo of Europe is located in Germany, so officially the update is on Friday since it's at midnight for them (1 AM during DST). It's only on Thursday for the UK and Portugal when there's no DST, when there is it's Friday for them as well.
According to Hudson's site, Bomberman '94 and Detana!! TwinBee will be released in the US on Monday, so it won't be this week at least (Unless NoA screws Hudson over again of course).
Actually, at first I thought Super Turrican 2 wasn't released here either, but a while ago I finally saw a European copy on eBay, so it actually came out here.
The problem now however is that Factor 5 is pretty much bankrupt, so they might not be able to get it out.
@ KevNash: The code can be entered on either the Wii or DSi, but the two will not "share" points, so if you add points to your Wii Shop account they will not appear on your DSi.

Re: Review: Super Punch-Out!! (SNES)
I never said the music was better (Although I do think it is, especially the Special Circuit theme), just that there's more songs

Re: Ten Arcade Games We'd Like To See On The Virtual Console Arcade
Haunted Castle is one of the releases I'm dreading most. It's the least well-known Castlevania game for a reason!
Re: USA VC Update: Super Punch-Out!!
@ North99: Not only is this not a wrestling game, it's not even a boxing game. The creators of the Wii version said it best, Punch-Out!! is more like a puzzle game.
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
I actually love the overworld theme, it's the only 3D Zelda game to use the Zelda theme as overworld music!

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - April 2009
@ Adamant: And of course there's the Xbox Ninja Gaiden as well
Re: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
This is definitely the best 3D Zelda if you ask me, but I'll always love A Link to the Past the most of all
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - April 2009
@ CuzinMike: Multiple things. The music skips a lot and sometimes starts too late, some of the graphics are messed up, and worst of all, the game often freezes completely.
Re: Review: The Tower of Druaga (Arcade)
Infamous because of the ridiculous knowledge it requires before being able to play it well, as explained in the rest of the review
1up has a short article on the game too: http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager.offset=0&cId=3135870
Re: Review: The Tower of Druaga (Arcade)
Ok, I did not know that - I didn't expect a secret continue command. It doesn't change the score though!

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - April 2009
@ Charco: It is the same general game though.
Re: Review: Mappy (Arcade)
Yeah, every arcade game seems to have 2009 added to the title screen. Probably a legal requirement.
Re: The Tower of Druaga
Tecmo and their cheapness, apparently their game config menu also looks incredibly basic compared to that of the other three

Re: US DSiWare "Launch" Titles Confirmed
I loved Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland too, the bosses are some of the best in the Zelda series by far.
Re: Review: Mappy (Arcade)
Of course not, you can throw in endless free credits, it's mapped to the controller
If you press + and 1 together, you insert a credit, if you press + and 2 you start the game.
Re: Review: Mappy (Arcade)
@ timp29: It is one of the better score-based games, if you ask me.
@ Adamant: 7's a good score, really, I don't see what the problem is
Re: Namco Announces Upcoming Arcade Games
@ Objection_Blaster: Just watch a video - Tons more gore!
Re: Review: Star Force (Arcade)
All arcade games are 60Hz in PAL regions.
Re: Final Fantasy Finally Coming to VC
Some other sites got it wrong, apparently - It's not all six games, just the first four. Sorry to anybody who was looking forward to VI
Re: Review: Star Force (Arcade)
I was considering getting this to see how bad Shinya Arino really is, but I guess not now

Re: Gaplus
Of course I don't know 100% sure, but I think it has something to do with the game being released as both Gaplus and Galaga 3 in the US originally.
Re: Gaplus
Like Galaga
Re: The Tower of Druaga
I downloaded Mappy, and if all games are like it, then it's basically the game in the middle of a giant black square, in which you can just barely make out the words "Arcade Game" repeatedly scrolling across the background diagonally.
Re: SD Card Game Launching + Arcade Games Available on VC Now!
I think you need to update your Wii for the games to appear since the Wii Shop also has some small changes related to the SD card game launching.
No idea what titles Japan gets, honestly, the Japanese Nintendo site isn't updated yet!
Re: SD Card Game Launching + Arcade Games Available on VC Now!
Japan has 6 games, Europe and the US only have these four.
Re: Korner Entertainment Announces Math Blazer For WiiWare
I'd rather have Soul Blazer
Re: Rejoice! The DSi Gets a Virtual Console After All
If they release Donkey Kong '94 and the Wario Land games, I'll download all of them despite owning the cartridges. They're just so good.
Re: USA WiiWare Update - Pop 'Em Drop 'Em SameGame
@ KnucklesSonic8: Hudson developed Tetris Party.
Re: Pop Them, Drop Them SameGame
Bubble Bobble hasn't even been officially announced for release outside Japan yet, I doubt it's coming soon.
Re: Bomberman '94
@ Bass X0: Totally, when I first heard SB3's music I was amazed the SNES could pull off music that awesome
Re: Review: Super Punch-Out!! (SNES)
To be fair the NES game doesn't really start getting hard until the World Circuit either. Super has more opponents so obviously it takes a bit longer to get going.
Re: Review: Super Punch-Out!! (SNES)
It's just as hard as the NES game really, the only difference being that the final opponent is actually beatable
Re: Review: Super Punch-Out!! (SNES)
@ Jogurt: Yup
Re: Bomberman '94 & Detana!! Twinbee Coming To US Virtual Console On Monday

Re: USA VC Update: Summer Games II
@ gishagos: The Wii already had a good release last month, The House of the Dead: Overkill
Re: Secret Command
To be honest we thought it wasn't gonna be released outside Japan because of the US's Rambo version, I guess Sega proved us wrong
Re: The OFLC Rates Even More Games
Actually, at first I thought Super Turrican 2 wasn't released here either, but a while ago I finally saw a European copy on eBay, so it actually came out here.

Re: The OFLC Rates Even More Games
@ Ratengo: Shanghai II is published by Activision Blizzard according to the OFLC - It's probably a reissue of the PC version?
Re: 1000 and 3000 Nintendo Points Cards on Store Shelves Next Month
@ KevNash: The code can be entered on either the Wii or DSi, but the two will not "share" points, so if you add points to your Wii Shop account they will not appear on your DSi.
Re: The OFLC Rates Even More Games
Well obviously we can't have the "real" first Shinobi (The arcade game), but this is meant to be a port of it.
Re: Adventure Island: The Beginning - First Video
@ odd69: The original Adventure Island only scrolled automatically when you were on a skateboard. It never auto-scolled when you weren't.
Re: Adventure Island: The Beginning - First Video
Along with Adventure Island and New Adventure Island you can spot clips of Super Adventure Island at the start, I hope this means something
