Code Veronica and an entirely new chapter are both confirmed to be in the game already, but they haven't shown anything from them yet. My guess is that there's a handful of new rooms in the RE2 segments (Which would also hint heavily at a possible RE2 remake).
I think you have to beat the special stage. It appeared after beating the final boss for me but I'm not sure what the requirements are, maybe get all Gold Melons?
Nothing happened to that, people were just making up stuff they hoped would happen. Super Smash Bros. has no indication of coming to the US anytime soon as far as ratings are concerned, and you'll probably get Majora's Mask first.
It's a good game, it just feels a bit rushed. I think the lack of a classic mode with one-hit kills and no weapon upgrades/new moves is the biggest oversight.
@ SKTTR: You're probably thinking of Renegade. That's the first Kunio fighting game, but it's not really like River City Ransom and Downtown Special, there's no RPG elements at all.
You're both wrong and right, both Monster Lair and The Dragon's Trap are called Wonder Boy III even though they're different games. The US never got Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair on the Genesis.
There's no way they're going to release that - Why put that up when the Wii Shop already has a Dr. Mario game, with the same features (And more) for 1000 points?
I could see them releasing Dr. Mario 64 though, because it has some stuff not in any other version (Such as a story mode).
It's not really one of my favourite RPGs, but I'll always remember it for being one of the only "big" games to get an official Dutch translation (And a good one too!), plus of course the music.
I agree with KeeperBvK, this is the best SNES game, Chrono Trigger's overrated
@ Terranigma: I played through The Granstream Saga when it first came out, and while it does share similarities to the other three games it's nowhere near as fun to play. It's really slow and boring and more like an actual RPG than an Action RPG.
I only found out about them because they have a song in the first Ouendan game. It's pretty much my least favourite song in the game though, their other music is much better!
I believe the sumo game is actually supposed to be a sequel to a sumo series Tecmo has been making for a long time, Tsuppari Oozumou. There's a few old installments on Japan's VC too.
Yeah, this one's a bit weird - It got a German and French release (Which were also in their respective languages) but wasn't released anywhere else in Europe. Makes me wonder if it'll be an import on VC or not!
Brilliant game though, just like the other two, of course.
@ Adamant: Yeah, I'm not sure about that one, seems like an odd license to rerelease/make a sequel to. It's pretty popular in Japan though for some reason.
I think NoE might localize it - Their localization of Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland shows they don't mind bringing over crazy titles. NoA probably won't even consider it though.
I keep hearing it's not as good as the original (Which is hard to do since, after all, it was perfect), but I'll definitely pick it up when it's out in Europe.
I have heard that the GameCube version was less likely to freeze if you turned rumble off, perhaps you did so? For me the GC version froze twice in one playthrough, I haven't touched it since. Both times I lost hours of progress.
I love every other WarioWare (Except maybe Touched!) so this was a massive disappointment to me. Perhaps the two year break made Nintendo forget what made the other games so good
Also, the camera just loves to hate your house, it took me over an hour before I finally found a spot it liked!
@ Neoprenanzug: Sound issues (Skipping, starting too late), random lag, occassionally buggy graphics, and the game sometimes freezes.
As for the most hated Zelda argument, I personally never enjoyed the original. Too much trial and error. Phantom Hourglass was also incredibly disappointing.
I don't think the US will get Majora's Mask soon - Remember that Japan got Super Smash Bros. on VC in January because they got Brawl in January the year before. The US got Brawl in April, so it's very likely you'll get SSB this month instead. Europe didn't get Brawl until June, so Majora's Mask is probably just meant to fill the gap.

Re: Review: Virtual Boy Wario Land (Virtual Boy)
Wario Land 4 is probably the weakest in the series
VBWL's the main reason I want a Virtual Boy, wish it was released in Europe!
Re: Prepare To Gnash Those Teeth: Perfect Dark May Be XBLA-bound
I don't get anyone who says Rare are traitors, Nintendo sold them
Re: Nintendo Download: Clocks, Calculators, Penguins and Towers (US)
Oh yeah, just so you all know, Super Mario Kart and Pilotwings were rated by the OFLC today
Re: Capcom Announces Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth for Western Release
Actually it's been officially announced as AAI: ME, which is indeed different from the other games.
Re: Resident Evil
It's more of a port, the only new feature is Wii remote controls, they didn't even add additional video options!
Re: New Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Trailer Shows More Gameplay
Code Veronica and an entirely new chapter are both confirmed to be in the game already, but they haven't shown anything from them yet. My guess is that there's a handful of new rooms in the RE2 segments (Which would also hint heavily at a possible RE2 remake).
Re: Bit.Trip Beat Coming to Europe on Friday
But this week is a VC week... unless they're going back to VC and WiiWare in all weeks?
And also, I thought this week was likely to be the start of a Hanabi Festival - Last year had one in May and Japan actually has a holiday this week.
Re: Review: Adventure Island: The Beginning (WiiWare)
I think you have to beat the special stage. It appeared after beating the final boss for me but I'm not sure what the requirements are, maybe get all Gold Melons?
Re: PictureBook Games: A Pop-Up Adventure
Here's the Japanese site so you can see some of it: http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/wiiware/wetj/index.html
Re: Review: Adventure Island: The Beginning (WiiWare)
Honestly, compared to the older Adventure Island games it's incredibly easy. If you've played them you'll notice it immediately
And now we're both beaten quakster, some guy somehow got 70000 more points than us!
Re: Nobunaga's Ambition
Nothing happened to that, people were just making up stuff they hoped would happen. Super Smash Bros. has no indication of coming to the US anytime soon as far as ratings are concerned, and you'll probably get Majora's Mask first.
Re: Nobunaga's Ambition
Some people just don't know a good game when they see one. The whole Nobunaga series is great, probably my favourite Koei series.
Re: Review: Adventure Island: The Beginning (WiiWare)
@ quakster: Done, your turn
Re: Review: Adventure Island: The Beginning (WiiWare)
It's a good game, it just feels a bit rushed. I think the lack of a classic mode with one-hit kills and no weapon upgrades/new moves is the biggest oversight.
Re: The Lost Vikings
Blizzard has always owned the rights, and since they recently merged with Activision (Who are supporting VC) I really hope this will show up.
Re: Little King's Story available from Club Nintendo
Most of the time games from the Stars Catalogue are shipped faster than other things, you'll probably have it within a month.
Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - May 2009
@ SKTTR: You're probably thinking of Renegade. That's the first Kunio fighting game, but it's not really like River City Ransom and Downtown Special, there's no RPG elements at all.
Re: Nintendo Download: Adventure Island, Crystal Defenders R1 & Real Football 2009 (EU)
@ greyelephant: Football is football when you actually use your feet to move the ball instead of your hands
Re: Nintendo Download: Dr. Mario, Wonder Boy, More Magic Tricks and Crystal Defenders
You're both wrong and right, both Monster Lair and The Dragon's Trap are called Wonder Boy III even though they're different games. The US never got Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair on the Genesis.
Re: Nintendo Download: Dr. Mario, Wonder Boy, More Magic Tricks and Crystal Defenders
@ stratocastx: The WiiWare version is missing about 3 or 4 character classes and I believe some of the levels.
Re: Nintendo Download: Dr. Mario, Wonder Boy, More Magic Tricks and Crystal Defenders
There's no way they're going to release that - Why put that up when the Wii Shop already has a Dr. Mario game, with the same features (And more) for 1000 points?
I could see them releasing Dr. Mario 64 though, because it has some stuff not in any other version (Such as a story mode).
Re: Review: Terranigma (Super Nintendo)
The only way the games are connected are through little references here and there, there's no over-arching story.
Re: Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals
It's not really one of my favourite RPGs, but I'll always remember it for being one of the only "big" games to get an official Dutch translation (And a good one too!), plus of course the music.
Re: Review: Terranigma (Super Nintendo)
Yup, Illusion of Gaia is one of very few SNES titles not developed by Nintendo but still published by them. It just goes to show how good it is
Re: Review: Terranigma (Super Nintendo)
I agree with KeeperBvK, this is the best SNES game, Chrono Trigger's overrated
@ Terranigma: I played through The Granstream Saga when it first came out, and while it does share similarities to the other three games it's nowhere near as fun to play. It's really slow and boring and more like an actual RPG than an Action RPG.
Re: Review: Kirby Super Star Ultra (DS)
No, Terranigma, it's not been released in Europe. Every other region has it already but NoE's being stupid as usual
Re: Rhythm Heaven Creator Talks J-Pop and Music Games
I only found out about them because they have a song in the first Ouendan game. It's pretty much my least favourite song in the game though, their other music is much better!
Re: Vektor Tank
ummm
Re: Konami: VC Arcade Support and WiiWare Life Force
Then you don't understand what VC Arcade is. It's exclusively arcade games, and SotN is not an arcade game.
Re: Review: Game & Watch Collection (DS)
I wish Nintendo of Europe would throw this in the Stars Catalogue, every region but Europe has it!
Re: Nintendo Download: 14 April 2009 (Japan)
I believe the sumo game is actually supposed to be a sequel to a sumo series Tecmo has been making for a long time, Tsuppari Oozumou. There's a few old installments on Japan's VC too.
Re: Konami: VC Arcade Support and WiiWare Life Force
Symphony of the Night will only happen if the Sega Saturn is added to VC. Which isn't likely since Sega doesn't know how to emulate it.
Re: Soul Blazer
Yeah, this one's a bit weird - It got a German and French release (Which were also in their respective languages) but wasn't released anywhere else in Europe. Makes me wonder if it'll be an import on VC or not!
Brilliant game though, just like the other two, of course.
Re: Konami: VC Arcade Support and WiiWare Life Force
@ Outrunner: Yup, but only in Japan. The original Gradius has a TGCD port as well, which is on Japan's VC together with the NES version.
Re: Konami: VC Arcade Support and WiiWare Life Force
@ Adamant: Yeah, I'm not sure about that one, seems like an odd license to rerelease/make a sequel to. It's pretty popular in Japan though for some reason.
Re: Terranigma
IMO, the fact that not a single Gaia game is available on VC is the service's single biggest crime. Where's Soul Blazer, already?
I replayed this a few months ago and it's still amazing, one of the top 10 SNES games for sure.
Re: Review: Captain Rainbow (Wii)
I think NoE might localize it - Their localization of Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland shows they don't mind bringing over crazy titles. NoA probably won't even consider it though.
Re: Review: Odama (GCN)
I loved this, but the learning curve is extremely steep. Prepare for loss after loss on the later stages
Re: Review: Rhythm Heaven (DS)
I keep hearing it's not as good as the original (Which is hard to do since, after all, it was perfect), but I'll definitely pick it up when it's out in Europe.
Re: Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles (Wii) Trailer
More like Umbrella Chronicles, the character you see walking around is your AI partner, not you.
Re: Crystal Defenders R1 and R2 Coming to Europe Soon As Well!
Each of these costs 1000 points in Japan
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
I have heard that the GameCube version was less likely to freeze if you turned rumble off, perhaps you did so? For me the GC version froze twice in one playthrough, I haven't touched it since. Both times I lost hours of progress.
Re: Review: Art Style: CODE (DSiWare)
@ Objection_Blaster: Blame the proofreader, I certainly didn't make that typo
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
Here's some videos of the VC version: http://computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=212445
It only skips for a fraction of a second and it only happens in Clock Town, so it's pretty negligible.
Re: Review: Paper Plane (DSiWare)
The amount of people that haven't played this and Pyoro in the original WarioWare is staggering
I really hope we see Jump Forever and Skating Board from it sometime as well, those two are easily my favourites.
Re: Review: WarioWare: Snapped! (DSiWare)
I love every other WarioWare (Except maybe Touched!) so this was a massive disappointment to me. Perhaps the two year break made Nintendo forget what made the other games so good
Also, the camera just loves to hate your house, it took me over an hour before I finally found a spot it liked!
Re: Review: Chibi-Robo: Park Patrol (DS)
I wish this was released in Europe, still need to import it sometime.
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)
@ Neoprenanzug: Sound issues (Skipping, starting too late), random lag, occassionally buggy graphics, and the game sometimes freezes.
As for the most hated Zelda argument, I personally never enjoyed the original. Too much trial and error. Phantom Hourglass was also incredibly disappointing.
Re: Nintendo Download: DSiWare Launch Games and Majora's Mask (EU)
@ wariofan63: Stop ruining my theories, you fiend!
Re: Euro Update: DSiWare Launch Games and Majora's Mask
I don't think the US will get Majora's Mask soon - Remember that Japan got Super Smash Bros. on VC in January because they got Brawl in January the year before.
