Less than a week after finding out CatDog and April O'Neil would be joining the battle in the upcoming fighter, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, the game's release date and file size for the Nintendo Switch hasve now seemingly been revealed.
According to a North America eShop listing and Nintendo's website, the game will be arriving next month on 5th October. The digital version will be priced at $49.99 USD (or your regional equivalent) and the file size is around 2.9 GB. So far, 16 characters have been confirmed for the game. Apart from the two new additions, here's who else you'll be able to play as:
- Michelangelo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
- Leonardo (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)
- Nigel Thornberry (The Wild Thornberrys)
- Powdered Toast Man (Ren & Stimpy)
- SpongeBob SquarePants (SpongeBob SquarePants)
- Sandy Cheeks (SpongeBob SquarePants)
- Patrick Star (SpongeBob SquarePants)
- Oblina (Aaahh!!! Real Monsters)
- Lucy Loud (The Loud House)
- Lincoln Loud (The Loud House)
- Helga (Hey Arnold!)
- Reptar (Rugrats)
- Zim (Invader Zim)

If this game was priced around 20 bucks I would check it out, but it being 50 you may as well spend 10 bucks more and get smash ultimate, but if I see this game on sale like Nickelodeon cart racers often does then I will probably pick it up
Hmmm... Well, can't believe I'm doing this, but I kinda wanna speculate on what other characters are left to show:
Heffer - Rocko's Modern Life: Rocko's is one of the few shows to get a movie recently, which makes it both relevant and nostalgic. Rocko himself would be an odd choice, so I'm going with Heffer.
Marigold - Phoebe and her Unicorn: Probably not, but I've been a fan of the webcomic for years. So with it getting a nicktoon, I'd be very pleased.
Thundergirl - Action League Now! / KaBlam: This game seems focused on that era, and KaBlam is pretty beloved.
Daggett - Angry Beavers: One of the original big nicktoons he seems ripe as an addition.
Sakurai's been awful quiet since this game was announced.
Oh yeah, and the Boxart seemingly got leaked, revealing Ren & Stimpy,Aang and Korra.
Does the game have voice lines for the characters? If not then it's a hard pass for me
It'll be weird if both Jimmy Neutron and Fairly Odd Parents aren't represented here again like in Nick Kart Racers 2.
@Ragdoll72 Richard Horvitz, the voice actor of Zim, said he and other VAs were not called in to record any lines for this game. If this game has no voice acting whatsoever, then my curiosity has plummeted severely.
Still can't give an Opinion yet, I need to see the final Trailer before I Think its worth it or not.
@Toy_Link Dunno about Jimmy, but apparently Nick have been running into issues licensing out characters from Frederator's shows (which also includes other fan favourites like Teenage Robot, ChalkZone, and Fanboy & Chum Chum)
@Ragdoll72 @MagicEmperor I don't get why you'd pass up a game like this for any reason that isn't directly tied to gameplay. While grunts and a few win quotes would be better than no voices, no voices is better than going extreme and having the characters speak the same long sentences all the time - just play Attack of the Toybots and you'll see what I mean. "I better get out of this factory soon - I think I left the oven on!" was funny the first few times, but after a while it becomes grating. Now imagine that with 3 Rockos on-screen and a SpongeBob shouting "It's karate time - or should I say Kah-Rah-Tae?"
I might actually pick this up one day if only to play as Aang, assuming he is included, judging by the silhouettes. Helga too because Hey Arnold is cool and she always looked ready to kick people into kingdom come.
@Noid Haha, I know it’s a very minor reason to be displeased. But, really, having some vocalizations go a long way for me, even if they’re just grunts.
Ah, but we’ll see! 😄
I see they've shied away from allowing players to beat up "dumb babies".
I guess it figures, as open world games have a conspicuous lack of young characters (and they're usually confined to cutscenes) to prevent getting them from harm's way.
@Xiovanni Me too considering she's already confirmed.
No Hugh, no buy.
Seriously? No Avatar characters? You're saying I can't play as Aang, Toph, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Azula, or Korra? Or any of the other characters in the franchise?
Then again, there's so many capable fighters in that franchise that it deserves it's own fighting game, no need to be bogged down by characters from other Nickelodeon franchises.
On the other hand, it would be kinda funny to see Aang or Korra kick SpongeBob right in his SquarePants.
This is about $20 overpriced
@AstroTheGamosian korra and aang we're on the boxart, plus theres stages featuring air temple island and the spirit world so they're both a given pretty much
$50. Lol. Dead on arrival.
The issue to me is the file size. Under 3gb?? Oof. Smash is over 16gb at launch, granted this game will have less characters, but still the amount of content will likely be pretty lacking. Maybe if it goes on sale...
@Silly_G Well tbf it would be pretty weird if cool to see Tommy or Chuckle doing aerial somersaults double jumps and landing a three hit combo into a forward smash finisher, since even in their own games they never went that extreme with the babies. Also if you're looking to pumble kids, download Super brawl universe, it has Angelica as a playable character and she's in her og form.
Definitely not worth 50 to me, looks kinda neat though.
@Noid I'm not looking for full voice lines, but just like the racing games that has no voice lines, it takes away. I mean a big part of the character is their iconic voice. I mean look at smash, the voice lines are scarce, but really bring out the characters personality
