@foursider Super Mario Bros. Wonder let you turn off the sound of the Talking Flowers, so I wouldn’t be so sure. Hopefully, the more grating cutscenes can be skipped with a simple button press (like in Metroid Dread).
Just saw the announcement on the NSO app and immediately fist-pumped. Been far too long since the last addition to NSO's GCN collection (Chibi Robo), especially with the sparse number of titles since launch.
A "Classic Grand Prix" option would be great. As much as the new intermission sections are neat, racing around a course for multiple laps allows more time to enjoy the course itself (especially classics like Airship Fortress).
@Rykdrew They are closed though? There are screenshots of the battle mode in a separate article (https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2025/04/gallery-fresh-mario-kart-world-screenshots-give-us-our-closest-look-yet-at-the-new-racers) that show the arenas are enclosed with a multi-colored wall (indicated via the minimap).
I really think we're due for a Mario Kart 9 by now. It's been seven years since the original Mario Kart 8 came out on the Wii U and now four since 8 Deluxe.
As great as 8 Deluxe is, there's plenty of material for both more new and more retro tracks (not to mention, tracks based on other franchises).
Not to mention what a new Mario Kart could do to bolster the Switch's success. Popular racing series + massive install base + sequel to the best-performing installment of popular racing series? 😇🤑

@sixrings Yep!

Also, 120 fps for Switch 2 version.
Re: Metroid Prime 4 Rating Spotted On Nintendo's Website
Really hope "in-game purchases" just refers to the option to upgrade to the Switch 2 Edition.
Re: Nintendo Music "Special Release" Adding Tracks From Kirby's New Switch 2 Game
If they shadow drop Air Riders, it would be WILD.
Just "hey, remember that game we teased back in the first Switch 2 Direct? That didn't show any gameplay? Well, here ya go!!"
Also, it might be better for the game to just launch by the end of August, before Nintendo unleashes whatever they have for Mario's 40th anniversary.
Re: Kirby Air Riders Direct Revealed for Tomorrow, 19th August 2025
@Qbecknight Whose to say it won't be?
Re: Mario Kart World Has Been Updated To Version 1.2.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Chlocean
Mario Kart 7 did not have a single-player VS mode (still one of the most baffling things about that game).
Re: Talking Point: Do You Have A New Go-To Racer In Mario Kart World?
Usually a toss-up between Lakitu, Shy Guy, Koopa Troopa, and Dry Bones.

@canaryfarmer Likely better performance and resolution.
Re: Nintendo Expects To Sell 15 Million Switch 2 Consoles This Financial Year
As a Paper Mario fan, it’s great to hear The Thousand-Year Door remake is considered to be a success by Nintendo themselves!

Re: Mario Kart World Brings Back Another Fan-Favourite Mode
@Rykdrew ... You realize these are 24-player battles, right?
Smaller arenas would have been unintuitive for so many people.
Re: Nintendo Confirms Delay Of New Development Building
@Purgatorium And potentially disastrous.
Re: Nintendo Acknowledges Blue Switch Lite Colour Argument With Handy Comparison Video
@River3636 Midnight blue would be a LOT darker than the blue Switch Lite. As in, so dark a blue that it's almost black.
