Re: Review: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream (Switch) - BREAKING NEWS: Mii Life Is Still Bizarre, Hilarious, And A Bit Samey

@DadJKP I think you're confused at what the differences are between facts and truth.

Facts are objective. Truth is subjective. Simply put, you are masquerading your opinions as some sort of empirical fact.

Morality is relative and ever changing. We used to think burning people at the stake or human sacrifice was acceptable.

Being overtly judgmental of how others live is, by itself, morally unpleasant.

@RoboCube Several reasons. Firstly, they announced long ago what the release date would be - changing that and releasing without warning risks hurting sales and damaging relationships with retailers.

Secondly, if there are bugs, your reputation will suffer if you release a buggy, unfinished game. Studios need the extra time to flatten them out. Huge reputational damage if a game breaking bug was found because they released it now rather than fix it.

Thirdly, relying on your audience to pay money to act as a QA team because a bunch of spotty teenagers couldn't wait a whole week is really bad decision making.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Most films are pretty poor these days and many here would be first to admit that (especially if they shoehorn in politics they personally don't like in a clumsy way) yet the second they criticise a Mario film they rush out to defend it from those "snooty film critics and their media degrees."

Couldn't make it up.

Also people hating the first animated Mario film and calling it the worst film ever (it was average) while the live action Super Mario Bros. film exists is just some kind of brain fart, surely?

Some of those reviews captured my feelings towards films and their scriptwriting for some time, particularly the one about Ritalin. They try too hard to shoehorn in references and jokes without a solid plot to make it compelling and hold it all together. That is nearly every film I've seen in the last 10 years.

I still think it's between RE3 nemesis. RE2 original release and REmake on GC in terms of what the best ones are.

I'd rather they found a way to retcon 4, 5 & 6 onwards out of the franchise and come up with a better overall plot motive beyond "Spencer wanted to become a god."

Re-releases good, new games that involve the original characters better.

In my adult life the biggest impacts on my ability to afford a home and pay bills have been: the financial crash, austerity (that's public spending cuts for you Americans), Brexit, the Ukraine War, the Liz Truss mini budget, Trump's tariffs and now the Iran War. All caused by hubristic, right-wing people in suits who aren't as smart as they imagine. Putin, Truss, Cameron/Osbourne, Farage, Boris Johnson and Donald Trump.

I can't think of a single comparable impact inflicted upon me by a refugee or immigrant, single mother, welfare/benefit claimant, gay or trans person, Muslim or Left-Winger. Maybe it's the Trump type people who are the problem.
