Re: Community: Got Treasured N64 Memories? We'd Love To Hear Them

CaptainQuo

I already made a submission with the contact form, but I remember how expensive the games were and going months without a new game.

The only thing keeping me sane was being able to rent from Blockbuster Video (still a thing, for a while longer) and trade in at my local indie game store, Solid Gold Games in Aberdeen (sadly not still a thing). They organised all their games into A & B games, you pay a flat £10 for swapping like for like and either £5 more or less depending on if you were swapping an A for a B etc.

I managed to get F1 World Grand Prix for only £5 because the sequel came out the week before.

Re: Reaction: A Direct That Picked Up Pace For A Breathtaking Finish

CaptainQuo

Fire Emblem: Fortunes Weave
Metaphor ReFantazio
Stella Blade
Orbitals
StarFox
Big Walk
Lies of P
Muramasa: Revenant Blades
Xenoblade Genesis
Final Fantasy Resonance
The Duskbloods
Splatoon Raiders
Atelier Karia: The Night Kingdom & the Guide of Memories
Tales of Eternia Remastered

My cup runneth over. And yet some people are still whining. That's not even counting stuff like Turok: Origins, Resident Evil Veronica, 007 First Light and Culdcept: The First that did not get a mention but are releasing this year.

Only big miss was Clair Obscure and maybe another first party announcement.

Re: Nintendo Direct Announced For Tomorrow, 9th June 2026

CaptainQuo

What I would like:

Expedition 33
Metaphor ReFantazio
Persona 6
Mario Kart DLC
New Star Fox
New Kirby
New Mario
Culdcept Begins info
Other 3rd party announcements, including games not yet announced to be coming for Switch 2

Release dates for Duskbloods, Orbitals & Fire Emblem

Please Ninty, no Ocarina remake. That is likely what we will get though.

Re: Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition Will Finally Rise On Switch 2 This August

CaptainQuo

I don't get some of you people. Elden Ring is a fantastic game. You don't need to be "hardcore" or "elitist" to enjoy it either, its not that hard. Don't be so hysterical and melodramatic.

It's the most accessible of all the Souls games, in fact. There are people who dislike most Souls games who LOVE this. Some people just have a strange chip on their shoulder.

Re: Preview: Star Fox (2026) - Just A Remake, But What A Remake

CaptainQuo

After the excitement of the initial reveal, I'm not really sure what to make of this still. Feeling kind of 'meh' about it.

I want new StarFox, so maybe this will be the start of more releases. It wouldn't be the first time Ninty revived dead franchises (i.e Metroid, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Famicom Detective Club).

Re: BioShock Creator: Switch 2 Proves Graphics Have Reached "Diminishing Returns"

CaptainQuo

@Shepdawg1 Nintendo has understandably been banging this drum since the early Wii era.

They were ridiculed for it at the time (not helped by 3rd party publishers releasing half-baked ports by 2nd or 3rd string dev teams) but they were right.

Whenever I see a hyper realistic screenshot I just shrug my shoulders. Eternal Sonata on the 360/PS3 is as stunning as any game released now. Cel shading and pre rendering made some pretty games even in the early 2000s.

Graphics have always been a bit of a d**k measuring contest.

Re: Stop Stressing, Nintendo Says More Switch 2 Games Are Coming

CaptainQuo

@JackieCMarlow If that was the only reason you bought it, maybe you should have waited until they announced Mario or Zelda before buying it?

But I suspect you're being facetious and hyperbolic. There's no way you could possibly only like those games and nothing else.

@JohntheRaptor There are some people that wantonly throw money at every single system. People that buy every system going are very much the minority of consumers. If I don't want to spend extortionate money on more than one console, then yes, I'll buy the 3rd party games on Switch 2.

Re: Review: Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream (Switch) - BREAKING NEWS: Mii Life Is Still Bizarre, Hilarious, And A Bit Samey

CaptainQuo

@DadJKP I think you're confused at what the differences are between facts and truth.

Facts are objective. Truth is subjective. Simply put, you are masquerading your opinions as some sort of empirical fact.

Morality is relative and ever changing. We used to think burning people at the stake or human sacrifice was acceptable.

Being overtly judgmental of how others live is, by itself, morally unpleasant.
