Re: Feature: Shigeru Miyamoto - The Father of Modern Video Games

Boo_Buster

@PinkSpider He is more the creative mind behind Nintendo, Iwata has created some games as well but he doesn't really do that anymore now that he is global president. I don't know much about Reggie but I believe he comes from a more business type background, although he seems to love games.

This man has helped shape each and every one of us here, more than likely. I wish I could give him something in return for everything he has done. It'd be cool to play him a song from Zelda or Mario on the piano. I bet he'd think that was cool actually. This man is a genius in every sense of the word. I gave him a Happy Birthday shout out on my show this morning and I wondered if anyone out there knew who he was when I first said his name haha

Re: Nintendo Download: 15th November 2012 (North America)

Boo_Buster

@ThomasBW84 I'd actually get Myst if it was in the $10 range....but $30? C'mon man. You are very right Tommy, they need to sort out their retail-games-on-the-eShop prices. They should put Pilotwings and Steel Diver up for $19.99, they would sell great, but they never will. I love Nintendo, I really do, but decisions like this are quite the head scratcher... I'm sorry Nintendo, but there are only a few retail games out there I am paying full price to download (Animal Crossing is basically it). If they were $5 less than the physical copy I'd be a lot more apt to buy the digital version. Perhaps when they see more people buying games on the Wii U solely because of that Wii U premium discount they will see the light... but they only see their own light. I love that about them, and hate it at times as well. Thanks Tom

Re: Wii U Deluxe Set Selling Like Hot Cakes

Boo_Buster

@Jaco Your best bet will be Walmart or Best Buy at midnight, and big stores like that, which MIGHT actually receive an extra few. Stay away from "video game" stores (that specialize in them, like GameStop) as that will be an exercise in futility, my friend. They will be lucky to get any extra systems, and it's highly doubtful at release their will be many extras at all. I would not want to be you in this situation buddy. Good luck though, none the less! The more, the merrier.

Re: Wii U Deluxe Set Selling Like Hot Cakes

Boo_Buster

I went to Gamestop about a half hour after the New York press/pricing event a few months ago and pre-ordered mine, no problem at all. It was sold out, for GS, a few days after that though, so I went at the perfect time. I'm not waiting like an idiot either; I'm going to GameStop Sunday morning at 9am and walking right in and out with my Nintendo stash

Re: Ubisoft Plan To Sell Wii U Retail Games Via The eShop

Boo_Buster

If I remember correctly, and of course I do, PS3 didn't get trophies until after launch through a system update. If fans complain enough, and Nintendo hears them loudly enough, I am sure the same can be done on the Wii U. Having said that, I don't care about trophies. Trophies are for people with low self esteem, something I do not lack, whatsoever They would just be there, as they are on my PS3, providing nothing more than a lackluster "hooray" when one pops up. I get my self-justification elsewhere; video gaming, for me, is a relaxation station. I agree with Nintendo's decision, although I am sure I am among the minority.

Re: Feature: Nintendo's Wii U Hype Machine

Boo_Buster

I'll get NSMBU and ZombiU along with the included Nintendo Land on launch day... but Scribblenauts Unlimited is looking really good as well. 4 completely worthy games at launch is pretty great in my eyes. I think once people start hearing positive remarks on the Wii U it will become another solid selling Nintendo console.

Re: Nintendo World NYC Gearing Up For Wii U Midnight Launch

Boo_Buster

Mr. Johnson must have a johnson for a brain, as waiting in line for anything is for morons and farm animals. I'm getting the system on day one too buddy! but I get to take a shower before I go pick mine up. Can we start acting civilized again, please? So my system won't have someone's signature on it? I don't need that, at all. Still, have fun "Triforce"! and the next ten people in line who have to put up with some stinky bum.

Re: First Image of Wii U eShop Surfaces

Boo_Buster

Hard to tell from just that snapshot. I hope that it is a little more organized than the 3DS' eShop though, as at times that can be a jumbled mess. It's hard to imagine they can't come up with a better layout for that. If they can't, bring in someone who can please, there are actually a few talented people amongst all the garbage.

Re: Yasumi Matsuno Steps Away From Level-5

Boo_Buster

Same here guys ^. I'm not saying they are not worthy, just personally Crimson Shroud is the only one that interests me, right now. Hopefully Matsuno-san gets some rest and returns to the scene with some great ideas

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th November 2012 (North America)

Boo_Buster

@Barbiegurl777 It is truly great to see both Men and Woman (Girls and Boys) playing video games these days!

I won't be purchasing anything from the eShop this week, but I will download the Epic Mickey: PoI demo, and I will be picking up the physical copy of Paper Mario: Sticker Star this Sunday morning! The Wii U is quickly approaching friends, so PM:SS will help null the excruciating week that is nearly upon us

Re: Ubisoft: Wii U Stock Apparently Being Focused on US

Boo_Buster

@3Dash You have a chance after launch if you find out when a place like Walmart is getting shipments in and go on that day a.s.a.p. IMO

@SpaceApe Exactly. I'm sure Nintendo will keep pumping out as many Wii U's as possible, especially with the winter seasonal holidays around the corner. It might be a little hard to find one for a bit, but shouldn't be ridiculous getting into next year.

Re: Review: Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS)

Boo_Buster

@ItsInRealLife I hear ya, but let's hope they continue the Mario and Luigi RPG's on the 3DS as well, for more of that. 8 is still "great" guys, don't be shocked. It's just no NES Zelda I'm really pumped for this game

Re: Feature: Nintendo's Presidential Candidates

Boo_Buster

@R-L-A-George Really? I thought it was totally serious! That is why I said, and I quote myself "Mario would be cool though", but you just like to stop reading after you get what you want. I was being totally serious about Mario, I wasn't having fun at all (sarcastic).... You ruin fun by assuming things

Re: Number-Crunching Reveals That Nintendo's Handheld Market Is "Stable"

Boo_Buster

@Burning_Spear So then Sony and Microsofts numbers have the biggest catch in the history of catches...?
Most game companies sell consoles at a loss and sell software for profit. PS3, Xbox360, and Vita are all this way from the start. I'm not knocking them, just pointing out facts.

Has anyone ever thought that handhelds have kind of just reached their limit for install base with the DS era? I mean those who want to play a handheld are going to get one, save for those who are really hurting in these tough economic times. I don't think the numbers can really grow that much more than they did with the DS, which was a great system for everyone, young and old, puzzler to RPG dungeon crawler to artist. If the 3DS can reach nearly the numbers of the DS I have to consider it a success.

Edit: And I'd think the same way for the Vita and PSP.

Re: Zelda: Twilight Symphony Soundtrack Available For Pre-Order

Boo_Buster

I would have really liked this but... 3 CD's shouldn't be quite that much. Not too disappointed I missed out on this one, even though I am a college trained musician who loves Zelda music very much. I''m sure we can find the tracks for free online somewhere in the not so distant future.

@triforcepower73: I am really looking forward to the Hyrule Historia! Pre-orderd for quite a good price from B&N.com. MSRP was $34.99 and I got it for just over $20

Re: Exclusive Chinese 3DS XL Models Revealed

Boo_Buster

I'd take any or all three of them NOA (hint hint) especially that White one or Limited Edition Red. Have they ever thought that some people have not bought or upgraded to a XL yet because they don't find the plain old Red and Blue attractive on their handheld device? I'd love, and I would definitely purchase, an all Black, White, or special edition model... Even though I am giving my buddies at Nintendo over $500 on November 18th haha

Re: Hori Set To Release Wii U Arcade Stick At Launch

Boo_Buster

@Shiryu I wouldn't be so sure, as the Classic Controller will have to be supported by the games for that to work, then. I'd surmise that this new stick is more akin to the Wii U Pro Controller in its settings so it will work with all games that controller will. I have no idea how many Wii U games will accept the older Classic Controller, but I'd have to think not many, as Nintendo wants to sell the Pro model. Not being mean, I'm just giving you a different perspective, so don't be let down if it doesn't work.

Re: The Famicom's Biggest Rival Is 25 Years Old

Boo_Buster

I remember this system and it's different iterations, but in America it seems like it was basically Nintendo, Sega and Atari that ruled the roost. I had Nintendo at home and an old Atari at my Aunt's, but I always enjoyed Sega as a few of my friends preferred them over Nintendo. Not me though

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st November 2012 (Europe)

Boo_Buster

@Late Do you know BASIC homie? If not Petit Computer is pretty worthless as it does not teach you how to program... If you do though it is cool. Just a heads up in case you thought it was more akin to the "art" programs that are on the 3DS that basically walk you through the drawing process.

Re: Mario Clone Super Maria Land Jumps Onto Android

Boo_Buster

My sister showed this to me yesterday and I gagged and laughed at the same time. I'm a former musician, so to me anything along these lines is complete crap. Artists can be influenced by another artist, but stealing their work is just moronic and not creative in any way, shape or form. I hope Nintendo sues the underwear off of whoever had a hand in this, only in the name of what is right.

Re: Nintendo Download Sales Increase With 3DS

Boo_Buster

@Linkstrikesback I'd be more happier that the way your government works allows you to purchase physical copies of games and consoles themelves for less than the Japanese and Americans if I were you though. The price of games is the exact same price at Gamestop as they are at Walmart as they are in the "mom and pop" stores in the US (save for used games and store sales) they do not combat for lower prices like they do in the UK (which I think is awesome for those in the UK, as it leads to better deals for you, the consumer) Slashing the price on the eShop would undercut those stores and quite possibly piss them off. I definitely agree with you though, this is just how I think Nintendo views it. Basically, they don't want to cut the prices on the eShop in Europe just because of the way MSRP is handled there, where it seems to be thought of as just that: a suggestion
